Red light therapy and high frequency stimulation was followed by a series of very relaxing scalp and hair treatments, along with a head, neck, shoulder, arm, and hand massage. I want to preface this by saying that I am in the beauty industry. I own a salon and I mentor women on how to create a 5 star experience. I am pretty easy going w my hair - it is not my #1 beauty concern but this experience was absolutely ridiculous. I will bullet point the main issues below. * the woman I was booked w was Victoria. This is the first and only time I've ever went to this salon. This is the first and only time I've ever complained about my hair or the experience out of 20 years of getting my hair done. * Victoria was on the phone on and off throughout my visit, speaking to her husband about getting a delivery of frozen food and trying to arrange for someone to pick it up. Honestly, didn't care about that too much. Was it unprofessional to be on and off your phone for minutes at a time? Yes- but whatever- it would not have been a problem if she would have been able to pay attention to what he was doing to my hair. * I booked a balayage and cut ($285 I believe) and I told her I like the whiter type of blonde and darker roots. She showed me the photo from Pinterest below and I loved it- she said she may have to change a few things to match my halo extensions but it shouldn't be too different. Cool. * after everything was done- my hair was not blonde. I was now a brunette and my hair did not look like the photo - at all - and my hair did not match my halo extensions - at all. So here I am w brown hair. Cool- I have other things to worry about and I'll try to use my purple shampoo at home and hope for the best- I had to remind her to shave the undercut I have so I can be on my way. She almost forgot that. * came home to take a better look at my hair. Color was completely off and my hair trim was uneven. I seriously couldn't believe how bad it was. Maybe she was having an off day? I don't know- so I called someone to get it cut and did that the same week. Still never complained to her. I just figured I'd never have to go back * then, a few days after the second set of salon closures in San Diego, I get an IG message from Victoria asking how my mane was. I attached the convo for you to see. She seemed to have accidentally did highlights but charged me for balayage and royally just f'd up my hair. She promised to fix it "as soon as they open". During closure, I saw at least one repost from a client saying they got their hair cut from Victoria. Okay- I wasn't going to bother her and I was just going to wait for salons to re-open so she could fix my hair. One day after the announcements of re-opening, I DMd her asking her when I can come in. This woman then states that it's past a certain point so I have to pay. Honestly... why the heck would you even message me in the first place? It makes ZERO sense promising to fix something you are only willing to fix under certain conditions unbeknownst to me. I seriously thought I was getting punked. I always teach my girls to OVERdeliver, UNDERpromise. This was the absolute worst case scenario of customer service I have ever seen. Victoria, I hope you learn a lesson from all of this. I don't believe all clients are right 100% or the time but you should 1) fix what you messed up 2) refund me at least the difference of balayage vs highlights since that's what I got and 3) apologize for your lack of professionalism in more ways than just one. I will never ever go back to this place. Horrible and unbelievable. read more

My hair is at it's healthiest, longest, and lightest in the years I have been with Allyssa. I have told her before that she has been my saving grace for my hair health and everything hair related. Before Allyssa, I had someone do a weft extension that left my hair in awful condition. I had to cut my hair very short and dyed it back to black because I was trying to grow it out, but my hair was so brittle that it would keep breaking. Eventually, I had someone else do a balayage that was so bad that I had to dye my hair back to it's original color within 2 weeks after spending all that money. It wasn't until I started coming to Allyssa in 2017 that changed my life. I have never felt more like a mermaid with her extension expertise. I have had extensions with her for more than 2 years and my hair length is to my butt. My hair doesn't break and it's the lightest color it has ever been. When you find a hairdresser you trust, never leave them. Allyssa is open and honest about everything I ask about for my hair. If I want to go too light, she will be honest and tell me it's not worth it. She'll tell me which extension method will work better for my daily routine and how much I sweat. I can't recommend her enough that I even tell my friends in Orange County that she is WORTH THE 1.5 DRIVE every single time. I would drive hours just to see this girl. I trust no one else. 10/10 would recommend if you love your hair a lot, then you need to go to Allyssa. read more
