My sister in law had an appointment. She has been coming here for some time. She has curly hair and Nichole has the magic touch. She welcome us in with smiles. I was there to assist with my niece. Nichole didn't bat an eye. She was delighted to meet her and I got to sit in the other studio chair while the appointment was completed. Nichole is a great listener. She has a lot of experience and you can tell she loves her work. The studio space is hers. Lots of greenery and chill vibes. She worked to get the curls perfect in my sister's hair. I know the curls are important to my sister in law and she would not still be going to the same place repeatedly if she didn't trust Nichole. We had lots of laughs. I'm copying and pasting my review I left for Nichole over from her old salon. I have nothing else to really add, because I've already said everything you need to know! She still dyes my hair beautifully, and has also extended my undercut even further than my last post. (Spoiler Alert: She's Awesome) I need to preface this with the fact that my hair is SUPER-thick Asian hair. In general, I have a hard time finding, trusting, and committing to a hair stylist that understands and knows how to work with my hair (because it is so much to work with). However, after my first appointment with Nichole for a simple toner + haircut, I had a feeling I would be seeing her again. Even though I went into that appointment not really knowing what to do with my hair, Nichole talked it through with me and I came home satisfied with a refreshed tone, and a tamed, thinned-out mane. Fast-forward a few months, and I had started considering a balayage again. Up until then, I had been following Nichole on Instagram and was always impressed by her work. After I finally figured out how I wanted my balayage done, I mustered up the courage to go through with it via Nichole. [ BEST DECISION EVER ] Nichole did a fantastic job on my color. (You will see in my photos). She managed to replicate my sample photo I found on the internet, and she styled it so cute! It was the most dramatic hair color transformation that I have undergone (nerve-wracking in itself) and I was so satisfied with the result. She is such a sweetheart, and was so easy to talk to throughout the entire session (which is important when you are sitting there for 3 hours+). Fast-forward to today, and my hair is totally grown out, and long and thick as ever. I am ready to chop it off, and better yet, I'm down for an undercut. An undercut! Who do I turn to for, yet, another dramatic hair chop for myself? NICHOLE! Coming to this decision after looking back at all of my other past haircuts, I realize that Nichole is the only one that I truly trust with cut, color and styling of my hair. If my work allowed it (and my self-confidence), I would trust her with so much more dramatic hair colors and styles. That is saying a lot to have so many qualities in one person. I have a balayage appt coming up later this month with her, and I am already looking forward to it. I'm so happy to have found her this year. She is such a gem and deserves so much praise! I have been going to Nichole for over five years. I have coarse long hair with lots of grays. She manages to make my hair have multidimensional color when other stylists I've been to have just bleached me out. I often get compliments on the color and tone of my hair. Unlike other stylists, she also sneaks a "dusting" in as a quick free haircut most visits and cuts my bangs every time. She also has a packed schedule but manages to get me in when I need even when I need to adjust our appointments. I really appreciate that flexibility. Another important thing to me is her personality. You spend hours with your hairdresser every 4-8 weeks and so spending time with a quality person is crucial. She remembers details about my life and about our conversations, which I find amazing given how many clients she has. Nichole is smart, spunky and driven. She in fact, just opened up her own salon in downtown Encinitas (after working at another salon for years). She has done a great job to bring her own style to the space. She has a sleek contemporary look which I think fits her perfectly. She is in a great location with good parking and views. Overall, Nichole is not only a talented artist, a meticulous and detailed stylist, who takes pride in her work and who stays on top of the ever changing updates of the beauty world, but is also just a good person who you will have an interesting conversation with. There aren't enough words to describe how amazing Nichole is! I've been seeing her for over two years and have gone through just about every hair color in the book - pick, purple, Platinum blonde, copper red, silver, peach, neon, rainbow... Even with all these color changes my hair has never felt healthier than after my visits with her. She gives her honest opinion (like pulling me back when I wanted to bleach too soon) and I 100% know that she honestly puts the health of my hair over grabbing for money and extra appointments that are either unnecessary or detrimental to my hair.
