I come from a place where I do not trust many people with my hair. I've had a few terrible experiences in life from a young age with someone legit chopping inchessss off to the one time I wanted to dye my hair, and the stylist did the wrong color. With that being said, it's been almost two years since I've had my hair trimmed. I've been eyeing this business for some time (like the whole time I haven't had my hair cut). I decided to finally give it a shot because the last time no new clients were being accepted this time around, it was, though. I reached out through Yelp and received a text very quickly from Ashley. We had such an amazing first chat or consultation. I sent her pictures of my hair so she could see the length and style. I never really know whether to say my hair is wavy or curly. She recommended a curl creme via text. I went and purchased yesterday, so we will see how that goes. But when I finally got to meet her, AMAZING . I asked if I could bring a friend who's like a sister to me and she agreed. Ashley is such an amazingg soul, so easy to talk too..and man her scalp massage is OUT OF THIS WORLD. I was sooo relaxed after that she has such amazing hands. I waited til after my blowout to leave a review. I just love it. The curls I have are more defined, and you can just tell she loves what she does. I'll be referring anyone and everyone who I hear needs a haircut. read more

Ashley is attentive, detail oriented, sweet, fun, and a wonderful hair stylist! We chatted to ensure we were aligned with my hair goals and she also gave some good recommendations on what she thought would suit me best for the colors/tone and cut and then she gave me my dream hair! Where to even begin! I've had my hair in some form of blonde balayage for the last 10+ years, and had been toying with the idea of going red for at least the last 2 of those, always chickening out at the last minute. Enter Ashley -- my new hair whisperer :) She not only gave me the confidence that I would make a badass redhead, but got me there in stages (in one sitting) so that we could decide together when to go darker / when to go lighter / when we hit the red headed jackpot! For a hair worrier like me, this was gold and I COULD NOT be happier with the results!! WOW! After years of searching I finally found my hair guru! I've been trying to find a "good stylist" who could help with my hair, and I was searching on the yelp and by accident or actually luck, I found Lush Studio, and Ashley! My past hair cuts were always the same...no style or flair but a trim on the bottom and angled on the sides and huge gaps where they tried to take out the bulk by thinning. I was never happy with my past hair colors either,but today Ashley did a perfect job on my hair, exactly what i wanted and took time to make my hair look just perfect! I contacted Ashley on Wednesday of last week for an apointment as soon as possible. She was able to get me in on Thursday at 1030am. I then realized it would be best to see her on Friday since I had an event to go to on Saturday and wanted "fresh hair". I called her and she was able to fit me in later in the day on Friday, which was perfect. She was running late the day of my appointment and let me know well ahead of time, which I appreciated. Soon after I arrived, she buzzed me into the salon quickly and did an overall great job on my hair. She was respectful of my wants and needs. At one point my scalp was hurting during the brushing, but once I spoke up she quickly adjusted the way she was brushing my hair. She was also very easy to talk to. It helped that we had quite a bit in common. I plan on seeing her again for my next haircut. read more

It was my first time coming to see Ashley! I had found her on Yelp over a year ago and was impressed with her work. It was flawless based on the photos she posted. So I reached out but at that time was wasn't taking any new clients. I ended up finding another hair stylist and went to see her 5x and had her work on my hair. However, I just never felt fully happy with how the color turned out. It was always to brassy, golden, and not exactly the color of blonde I wanted. So I decided to go back on the hunt for a new hair dresser. By now over a year has passed so I decided to shoot my shots again with Ashley and she got me in her chair! BOY... was Ashley worth the wait and I am beyond grateful that she did her magic on my hair. On the first try, she got the color and my hair exactly how I had envisioned. Her cut was amazing and I left feeling completely ecstatic. My hair feel and look happier. Ashley was kind, genuine and truly spent time consulting with me first on my wants and hit the bullseye . My wife doesn't usually treat herself out to get her hair done but she's really glad she did this time. Our wedding is coming up and she wanted to do something a little extra to get ready for pictures. This place had great reviews so she decided to give it a try and booked an appointment with Sabrina. The studio is located in a corner unit inside Sola Salon. It's a nice space with two chairs that's shared between Sabrina and another stylist. They have a TV set up in the corner and a menu board that lists their services and pricing. Sabrina was really friendly and offered water and a snack. Since my wife is new to the whole thing, Sabrina took the time to explain how everything worked and gave sincere suggestions. The whole process took about three hours and we both love how it turned out. If you're new to hair coloring or just looking for a new place to go, we'd definitely recommend Sabrina. She made my wife feel comfortable and was great to talk to. My wife is looking forward to possibly going lighter for her next visit! read more

A nicely run salon that provides good customer service and great cuts. I have to say that if we didn't have experience with having our hair cut by some very top stylists we'd probably have given Lush 5 stars, but really whether it is a 4 or 5 star experience depends on whether the stylist is best suited for your type of hair and desired cut. We had his and hers haircuts from Ashley. Very professional, and very technically competent. In all, over the years, if you haven't found the perfect stylist for what you want done with your hair yet, you might just find it here at Lush. If not, it wouldn't necessarily be because of a shortcoming at Lush, just might mean that you need to keep searching until you find the perfect match with your type of hair, and desired cut. read more

Ashley did my Brazilian blow out and lemme say...girl you are a goddess! I have really curly hair and my hair is now so soft, shiny and way way less curly! She's so thorough, really makes sure to take her time and gets your baby hairs (that meant a lot to me lol). She's also an absolute pleasure to talk to. I actually had fun during the process! It had been like three years since I'd done much to my hair -- serious mombré was happening. It was definitely time. I reached out to Sabrina, sent her a picture of what my hair looked like and a few pictures of what I wanted and told her my price range. Of course I would want something that is takes a process and a lot of product. Sabrina was so helpful! She guided me in a direction that was in my budget and made me feel beautiful! The 100th review! Woohoo! These girls (Sabrina and Ashley) are the sweetest! First and foremost, I need to say, I'm relatively easy going with my hair stylists as long as you're transparent with your prices, time, and results. If you tell me the price up front, if I want it, I'll pay for it. If you're running behind, give me a heads up and if you don't think the results are what I think it'll be just tell me. Ok. So, I reached out on Yelp and got connected with Ashley. Before my first appointment she texted me and told me she was running late well in advanced so I was able to adjust. (I can't emphasize enough how much this means to me - I have waited an hour + at my previous salon for a scheduled appointment UGH) When I got there, I told her what I wanted and she gave me realistic expectations, told me the option for low maintenance (cost too). I got cut and color and it was perfect!!!! Ashley is your girl. She is super nice and easy to work with. Color was amazing and prices are fair. Won't be changing girls any time soon. read more

Let me start by saying that it's been a frustrating journey trying to find a stylist that can not only transform your hair into exactly what you want, but also have great customer service. I've spent so much money on different stylists and left feeling sick to my stomach for not liking the results, or the experience, yet paying for it. Or feeling like I was pressured to buy their hair products. I found Lush Hair Studio on Yelp after moving to north county, and I am so glad I trusted the reviews and booked an appointment with Sabrina. This girl is talented! She has the perfect balance of professionalism but is still a genuine person. She took the time to really listen to what I wanted, and she worked her magic. What set Sabrina apart for me was her ability to be laid back and never annoyed to hear my suggestions or feedback, it made for a phenomenal color and cut experience. She set forth realistic expectations, an amazing attitude, all while being so comforting. I loved my long black natural/virgin hair but it felt frumpy! What can I say, I just love Sabrina. Love my hair every time. I've been a hairstylist for the past 26 years and recently retired and no longer wanted to keep up on my lions mane, cut and color, but was on the hunt for someone I could trust and send my guests to. Well, she proved to be consistent and knows her stuff. The people I have sent her way are extremely happy as well. I also adore Ashley. She's not ever done my hair but can tell by the work and happiness of her clients that she is just as great. I found this salon after seeing the high ratings on Yelp and was not disappointed! I sadly only get my cut once or twice a year at best but was ready for a change not only in hairstyle but color as well. I'm so glad I found Sabrina! She listened to what I wanted to do and made some great suggestions that made me comfortable in leaving my virgin hair color behind in exchange for balayage that wasn't too drastic of a change but just what I was looking for! It's almost a week now with my new hair color/cut and I could not be happier. The price seemed a bit steep to me but I've never had anything done to my hair and feel it was worth every penny. You know the deal, you move to a new area and you have to find someone brand new to color and cut your hair!!! Went on yelp and while I was skeptical of all the positive reviews, I came back happy. I came with a really bad hair job from another hair salon. The job that Ashley did on my hair to fix it was wonderful. She also re touch my mothers highlights and she loves them. Overall her job was wonderful, we left pleased with the work she did on us. We will definitely be coming back! We are happy to have finally found someone who knows what the client wants. Today I got my hair done by Ashley and she did an amazing job on my hair. When I came to her I hated the balayage a previous stylist did on me. It was horrible. Not only did Ashley blend it and turn my orange hair into a beautiful blonde and beige color just exactly as I asked for, she was so sweet and great company the whole way through! She got me an appointment right before a wedding I had to attend, very accommodating! Walking out of her salon is the first time I've ever been in love with my hair when it's all said and done! I had my hair done today by Sabrina and it was probably the best experience I've had thus far going to a hair salon. First of all, their salon is super cute and clean. They also have snacks, coffee, and water available if you get hangry/thirsty (which let's be real, most of us do, when we're getting our hair did) Moving on to the actual appointment, Sabrina was so lovely and patient the whole time. She made sure that I was satisfied with the color and cut throughout the process. She was quick to recommend me an affordable purple shampoo on amazon and said I could text her anytime if I have questions regarding my hair (so nice of her!) I also like the fact that this place is by appointment only because I didn't feel rushed. Overall I highly recommend lush hair studio and Sabrina. I don't know where to start. Ashley greeted me with an amazing smile and made me feel comfortable. She assessed my hair and I really appreciated her expertise. I got a full bayalage and haircut! I'm so glad I found her. It's been awhile since I got my hair did and she brought it back to life. The three hours went by really quick since Ashley and I conversed (She's super sweet) and my hair turned out so naturally amazing. The color and how she blended everything was just perfect. If you're reading this review, there's probably an 85% chance that you're wondering how this salon has such raving reviews. Well, lucky for you, I can tell you! Lush Hair Studio (located inside Sola Salon) is a cute 2 booth salon owned by best friends Ashley Lecroy and Sabrina Marie. Their studio is quaint, thoughtfully decorated, and has cute chandelier-y lighting that really helps create such a fun atmosphere. I was in pretty dire need of a hair change and thanks you fellow Yelpers, I found Lush Hair Studio. Both ladies do their own booking and scheduling. I made the mistake of calling both of their numbers listed, so be sure to call the numbers corresponding with their names. I scheduled a balayage and hair cut with Ashley during my first visit. She took her time to ask me about my typical hair routine and how I typically style my hair. I have wavy/frizzy hair and so I wanted to make sure the haircut I got would compliment both 'flat ironing days' & 'those eff it I'm throwing some gel in it and calling it a day' days. I also had a blonde ombre done a while back and it really took a toll on my hair (lots of damage, breakage, and didn't look so good anymore) and so I wanted the majority of it to be gone and be able to melt the remaining tips into a nice balayage look. After we talked about that, she asked me what type of color I wanted and I left it into her hands.. (kinda scary, right..? ) Well, Ashley is an AMAZING colorist and was able to blend in the remaining blond areas of my hair into a BEAUTIFUL caramel-y buttery brown and lighten my naturally dark roots to decrease the contrast from root to tip. It is such a beautiful color and it's perfect for our San Diego weather. I love love love love loved the color and I didn't care if I walked out with an uneven cut (okay, maybe not obviously uneven) because the colors alone made me look 100% better! The color really complimented my light tan skin tone and really balanced everything out! After the color, Ashley started to work on sclupting my hair (it was pretty damaged from the previous bleached ombre so a good chunk went buh-bye) into a beautiful low-maintenance long-bob. She double checked where my parting line was before styling the cut and it turned out so ridiculous beautiful! On top of that, she threw ended up curling some loose curls and you could see how beautiful the colors blended. Why did it take so long for me to find someone like her?! Ashley was amazing, so sweet, and is such an easy person to get along with! There weren't any awkward moments when you think, 'shoot, did I make sure to have my phone on my lap so I can check my social media', or even a moment to think, 'hmm, I should probably snap a selfie while my head's up in this crazy cool dryer'. We moved from topic to topic and it was if we've known each other for a while! At some point in one of our conversations, Ashley asked if I had ever tried out the Brazilian blowout as it's really beneficial for those who have frizzy hair and I told her I've never tried it out. She let me know how beneficial it's been for her and how much it decreases overall styling time. I told her that I might try it out in the near future, and she said cool and didn't bring it up again. It was really cool that she didn't try to sell me on any of the products or anything during my experience! Ashley did an AMAZING job on my hair and I walked away from my visit feeling so happy that my hair felt so healthy, full, and beautiful! It's been a few months since I had my hair done by Ashley (so sorry that I'm writing a late review Ashley!), but I still receive compliments about my hair color and how great the color and cut looks! Ashley did such an amazing job at such great prices and I highly recommend her! If you're still doubting whether you should try her out, you're seriously going to regret it! Call her! I moved to San Diego 4 years ago and was referred to Sabrina. I have always LOVED the way she did my hair and it was close to my work so very convenient. I ended up moving jobs closer to home and I live in north park. I tried other hair stylists closer to my neighborhood throughout north park and hill crest and none of them can fix my hair like Sabrina does. So I make the 45 minute commute from north park to north Escondido just to have Sabrina do my hair and it's totally worth it! She does an excellent job every time. Highly recommend. read more
