The working farm is a site to see and with horses, sheep, and goats. Dan is a working veterinarian that produces wine as a large hobby. In the middle of farming country this was a pleasant surprise.

The Irons is tucked inside The Mint Casino and, honestly, I think it's one of those wonderful local gems that can sometimes be forgotten about in our small town. She paid attention to all the little details, made some wonderful recommendations, and every recommendation was spot-on! It's not cheap, and we'd actually been advised by someone at the hotel to eat at the food court place instead, mostly because of the price. (I did have the food court nachos another day and they were really good. The wings and food by the sports book were not so good.) I was looking forward to prime rib. Which is fine, but I say that to say that they obviously did not, or could not, just cut a 10oz piece Medium Rare from a standing rib that was cooked on that Friday night. It was delicious and more of a cross between a steak or a leftover prime rib that was reheated on the grill. Again, I enjoyed it and it was delicious, but my prime rib snob friends may have objected. One highlight was the complimentary bread with rosemary butter. The bar drinks were outstanding. The only thing on which I can't comment is the dessert because we were too full to have dessert. I totally recommend Irons, would and will return. Just know that some things seem to be prepped and pre-cooked. Which can be better if you're open to that. Like the fried Brussels Sprouts. Give them to me reheated and hot every time! The portions were generous and we took leftovers back to the room.
