Excellent service, and I appreciated the company's timely response to my request for an estimate. A brand-new ceiling light in one of our bedrooms stopped working, along with one of the outlets. My husband has some electrical knowledge, but was unable to solve it himself. Our issue turned out to be simple, thankfully. Alex and his co-worker fixed both quickly. They explained the problems to me thoroughly and didn't "man-splain" which is a huge issue for me as a woman dealing with male service providers. They were also very friendly and respectful of our home. The cost was reasonable. However, I was not informed as to the cost of the service until I asked Alex, once he had identified the issue. He looked surprised and said (very nicely) well, it's per hour so you've got us for at least an hour. I too was surprised, the young lady who handled my request for an estimate and spoke with me over the phone never mentioned that. I should have asked, but since she didn't bring up a flat cost, I assumed it was free for him to come out and then I would be charged depending on the problem. That was the protocol for the 2 other companies that responded to my estimate request. (Electrical first timer here!) Thankfully the cost was approved by my husband after a quick phone call and they didn't need to spend more than an hour. Our house was built in 1942, so the outlets are not up to speed with modern electronics- the lights in my workroom were flickering and getting worse. I emailed Ducros to find out about having someone come over to check it out. They responded within minutes and arranged to meet me at my house. Grant arrived exactly on time, did some inspections and gave me an estimate- we scheduled a time for the work to be done. This was on Wednesday- late on Friday afternoon my other half decides she wants to have a ceiling fan installed as well - I emailed Ducros to see if it was possible to add this to the scheduled job; minutes later Bernardo replies and says no problem. Grant put down drop cloths on our floor, they did an awesome job, cleaned up when it was done and even discussed some things that could be done at a later time to get our electrical system working better. After sending a message in the morning via Yelp (I had a response within three hours), I was greeted at my condo by Alex who was patiently waiting 5 minutes EARLY (gold star already). We dove right into the assessment of the work and Alex did a great job of listening, assessing and then thoroughly diagnosing the project. With no investment of money on my part, Alex spent a solid 30 minutes tracing wires in a complex sub panel in an old building only to come to the conclusion that the project would be much more complex then originally anticipated. Instead of pushing to sell me the job, he spoke to me truthfully and even provided his free professional opinion about how to get around the initial dilemma. His solution was creative and affordable and one that I hadn't considered; he even took the time to strip back some wiring. Vince was amazing. We lost power in some of the outlets yesterday and I had tried everything that Google told me to - Reset GFCI, looking for missing GFCIs, burnt out wire outlets nothing worked. So I thought of leaving this to professionals and I called Vince and explained him the issue. He too requested same steps - look for gfci (done already), burnt outlet wire (done) & next one he told that if you think you can do it, you would need a voltmeter & I had one. so he helped me check & the issue was in circuit breaker. We have hired Ducros Electrical three times and each time the job was handled quickly and matched the provided bid. No upselling, no time padding. Just straight up quality work at a good value. They recently installed some lights for the outside of our garage. We called with a pretty tight completion window and they accommodated us. Jeremy and Chris were super nice and suggested light placement and avoided breaking out any interior drywall. We also asked if the new lights could be put on a timer at a later date and they were able to get a timer that day and install it for a nominal charge.
