Marvin and his team were excellent to work with. They were flexible with our challenging timeline, and despite our ongoing changes throughout the project, Marvin remained accommodating and easy to work with every step of the way. They produced top-tier work, and the walls and baseboard work looks excellent, all at a very fair price. We will certainly be using Dubon's Painting again for our next project and highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality workmanship and outstanding customer service. read more

Our exterior painting project (including some unexpected interior work) was completed and here is my complete review. Marvin's team recently completed the exterior painting of our 2-story house, including a balcony, and we could not be happier with the results. From the very beginning, Marvin was responsive and professional. His estimate was clearly itemized and even included photos of problem areas. Throughout the project, he always showed up on time for appointments and for work once the project started. His team's workmanship was meticulous, and they were very accommodating with color selections and unexpected issues that came up along the way. What impressed us most was their attention to detail--not only in their own work, but also in caring about our health and comfort. They took thoughtful steps to minimize dust and paint smells, and they were careful and considerate throughout the process. His team cleaned up at the end of each workday and kept us updated on their progress. They consistently went above and beyond our expectations with everything they touched. Their work ethic is exceptional, and it is clear that to them, this is not just a job, but truly a labor of love. read more

Marvin and his assistant Julio did an excellent job of exterior painting at my Oakland home. They were prompt, thorough, and their prep was amazing. They found and repaired dry rot, always cleaned up fully, and were a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend them for any painting project. They are licensed and insured and their charges are fair and reasonable. read more

For people looking for a painter, I want to put out this review. My painter, Marvin Dubon (Dubon's Painting) is an excellent licensed painting contractor. I have now engaged Dubon's for interior and exterior jobs and been extremely happy with both. I consider Marvin to be a true artisan based on the work he has done. I always get multiple bids for jobs, and I find Marvin's quotes to be very reasonable and fair. Here are examples of the interior and exterior work he has done for me: 1) The interior job was to patch large holes throughout my house (old, 2-story Dutch Colonial style) after a new electrical sub-panel was installed. I added patching all of the cracks that have appeared over the years due to shifts, tremors, etc., so almost every room had work to do, and the entire stairway. Old house, so the walls had a light plaster pattern, and each room was a different pattern! Marvin matched each pattern perfectly. This was all done in 2022, and I still haven't had any new cracks appear. I think it is because he did the patching professionally and didn't just cover over with flat plaster or just paint over them, the way a past painter did. 2) The exterior job was just finished in August, 2025. I needed to have the front trim and porch painted because it was looking drab and dirty, but I am not ready to paint the full exterior yet. Also, needed the back porch and trim done, a much smaller area, along with a small shingled roof that never took the paint and new storage room doors that had not been painted. In prepping the front porch area Marvin came across dry rot and wood that was falling apart in different trim areas. His repair work with new wood, even needing to make the half-circle trim himself because no suppliers had it in stock, is done so well you cannot tell where it was done. Some of the window panes needed to be re-glazed due to age, and one window pane had a small crack he fixed to save me some time until it needs replacement. For the back shingle roof and doors he matched the right color with a stain instead of paint, since the paint never stayed on the roof. It all looks beautiful! These updates make the house look cleaner and brighter, and I feel better about it. I will have Marvin do the whole house, inside and out, in about 2 years. He is always responsive when contacted, his work is always done very well, he is organized and cleans up everything each day so you never feel as if you are dealing with disruption to your life. I have referred him to other friends who feel the same, and actually met Marvin through a friend who also had him paint the exterior of her house. I can highly recommend him for all of your painting needs. read more

Dubon's was the first to respond to the request for a bid, first to provide a bid and absolutely the best communication throughout the whole process. After interviewing 5 different companies we selected Dubon's to repair water damaged siding and paint the entire exterior of the house. I could not be more happy with the results, and can't say enough about how well the project went. Their attention to detail during the process and communication was outstanding. All of my neighbors have commented on how great the house looks now. Even better, I know it was done right. I would recommend Marvin and his crew to anyone looking for quality painter. read more

I had a great experience with Marvin Dubon and his crew in 2021. Most of my exterior paint was in good shape, but the whole south wall needed a refresh: extensive prep, repainting, and even some repairs to the siding. Other smaller areas also needed retouching. I really appreciated Marvin's work ethic. He responded quickly, listened well, and his charges were reasonable. They were the most thorough painters I've ever worked with, and the result was excellent! Marvin communicated at every step of the job, even though I was out of town during part of it. He even remembered all the miscellaneous "spot treatments" I requested. I've referred him to friends who've had a similarly good experience. I look forward to calling on him for the interior soon! read more

It has been a very pleasant experience dealing with Marvin for help with painting the garage doors, a box window, eaves around the house, the down spouts, iron decorative grills on some windows etc. Overall very happy with the work. There were two of them, showed up every day at 7:30AM with masks and concentrated on their work. The window box work required Marvin to replace some of the wood as it was rotting. That was extra work but he did a fabulous job of fixing the window and it looks very good. He is very careful of covering up areas so it doesn't get sprayed with paint. They even cover neighbors cars on the street just so that they dont end up with paint on them. Marvin is pleasant to deal with and is very friendly. I highly recommend him. read more

Marvin and his crew recently completed painting the complete interior of our home. This was an extensive project that required us to clear out the smaller items and Marvin and his crew to handle moving the heavy items as the work progressed throughout our home. We were able to occupy the home during the work and it could not have gone smoother. The work he did for us came out fantastic and I would not hesitate to hire Marvin again.
