I took our vacuum that had a bad belt in and they did a complete cleaning on our Panasonic. Darn thing worked better than it ever did before. I am a new widow. A total clutz as well...grin. Anyway, this summer my year old Oreck upright...stopped sucking. Bummer. So I loaded it into the car and headed for Rogers here in Livermore. Dick at Dublin Vacuum repaired several issues with our 1997 Miele White Pearl vacuum cleaner, and completely cleaned the machine and accessories for a very reasonable price. We brought in the vacuum on Friday just before closing and he had everything done by Tuesday afternoon. The vacuum acts like it's new again. He and his staff were easy to work with and helpful. Dick recommended getting regular maintenance every three years going forward. They sell vacuums as well, but he didn't try to steer us toward a new machine. I cannot express enough gratitude to Dick and "Batman" of Dublin Vacuum. I purchased a Sears Kenmore vaccum within the past two years and I have had to repeatedly replace the vacuum belt. I called Sears prior to going to Dublin Vacuum and they wanted $35 just to look at it; and would ship it to Concord to be evaluated. Then they wanted to tack on service fees and parts; not to mention the lag time in getting the vacuum returned. I was dismayed to find that my new carpet was not compatible with my 2 perfectly good vacuums, having a length that would not allow the beater brush to turn. I took a sample square to Dublin Vacuum to find one that would work. With just a glance the salesman said there were only 2 vacuums that would work on that length. I was able to test them out on my sample right in the store and ordered one right away. Unfortunately it was back ordered by the company, and the salesman knew I was having great difficulty in attempting to keep my rug clean with my previous vacuums. So he allowed me to use the store sample as a loaner. It took a few weeks to come in and I was very grateful to have a working vacuum for that length of time. He even had my new vacuum assembled for me on pick up. Went over to Dublin Vacuum with my 10 year old Kenmore canister vacuum. I thought it was pretty much done as someone had run over the hose and the suction was not working that well in general. The owner was a great guy, turned on the vacuum and figured out that my filter was had been blocking my suction. After cleaning this, he also hammered the hose back into the original shape. I asked him how much, as I was about to purchase a $300 vacuum before I came in, and he said it was free of charge! I insisted but he was unwilling to take my money. Really great and honest guy, I hope him all the best and will definitely be coming to him with all my vacuum needs. I think this place is GREAT. They are so knowledgeable about fixing sewing machines, vaccuun cleaners and now my carpet shampooer. I've taken my Bissell there twice in the past 3 months. The first time, Dick, the owner who's terrific identified the problem, glues on some part right then and there and it was complimentary. Wow. The machine worked perfectly! Yesterday, I took it in because apparently a belt broke. How about this... it's ready today, only $15. I asked about a second shampooer for my mom. He has a better machine, a Hoover that sells for the reasonable $229.00. That's comparable to even Walmat pricing and obviously a better machine, a smaller, longtime business. They are located in Dublin with plenty of free parking. You can't go wrong here. I've been there with my sewing machine and vaccuum cleaner before and received the same kind of service. It's easy.
