When I got to the store, however, the bike was still in the box, and we were initially told that the associate responsible for building the bike was not at work yet, and the bike would not be ready until after 7:00 that night. Having traveled from Grayslake, I was a little irritated that they didn't have it ready when they said they would. Initially their solution was to ship the bike to the Gurnee store for pick up at a later date. Without going into more boring details, the store ended up offering a different, more expensive bike, that was already built. They honored the original bike's price, which was a few hundred dollars less than the bike we received. They also threw in a kickstand at no charge. What started out as a poor situation ended very well, and I commend the manager and associate (unfortunately, I don't have their names) who worked to make the situation a have happy ending.

We felt no pressure to purchase anything, and had a great time learning what to look for and what to watch out for when shoe shopping for him and us. Famous Footwear Outlet is a family-friendly shoe store. This store emphasizes on "self-service,"…read moremeaning that you browse through each aisle, see what shoe you're interested, and go through the shoe boxes underneath the display to find the appropriate size. Of course, there are chairs for you to sit down, try on shoes, and make your decisions without bothering any sales associate even for one (1) minute! What a lovely concept to save all the manpower and to avoid unnecessary conflicts between sales associates fighting for sales (I've seen way too much in a commission-sale environment...and often times profanities are heard)! The shoes are priced reasonably, so you don't need to frown when you see the price tags. You can find a pair of flats or work-appropriate shoes at the clearance section for under $30. However, most shoes aren't going to be ultra-fashionable. Thus, if you're seeking for something luxury or high-end, my recommendation would be Cole Haan on the second floor by Michael Kors at the Fashion Outlets of Chicago. I'm personally not crazy about this store, but I like to pop in every once in awhile to see what's new. Famous Footwear Outlet is located on the first floor, nearby the food court. Will you be "famous" after purchasing a pair of two shoes here? I don't think so, but I'm certain that you don't need to be famous to afford these shoes in the store.
