Unlike my typical purchase habits for other items, shoes are not something that you should really not buy online. I have found this out the hard way one too many times. Thankfully (at least in this instance) I happen to live in a part of Chicagoland that is like the 3rd Reich for consumerism. There are not too many big box chains which do not have a presence here, so when I need something in a pinch it's easy to take care of business. I have been in this Clark's store at Woodfield on a couple of other occasions, so it's long overdue that I give them a review as my experiences have always been excellent. My most recent visit was no exception. I should also add that I am a huge fan of Clark's just in general. While not a massively popular brand, they have a very dedicated and loyal fan base and you can count me among the indoctrinated. The Wallabee boot in particular is probably their most iconic item. I own 2 pairs, but on this particular occasion I was looking for business casual shoe to rock with chinos and slacks. To those not familiar with the interior of Woodfield, Clark's is located on the lower level. The most hassle free way to get there is to park in the upper lot Adjacent to PF Chang's, and then come in that entrance and take the escalator down. I was greeted initially as soon as I came in and it was not long before my salesmen was measuring me and brining boxes from the back for me to try on. My more frugal side really wanted to buy a pair of wingtips that was on sale for 60 bucks, but after I tried on the brand new suedes that they had just gotten in stock it was all over but the fireworks. I had found my shoe. Another important factor to keep in mind is that this store will ship any shoe Clark's makes to you for free. So if you get sized and they do not happen to have a shoe in stock that you are crazy for, they can have it to your house in a few days, and you can still get measured to insure a proper fit. I was in Clark's last December when I just basically walked in and begrudgingly bought a pair of their classic leather shoes ($125). I hate shopping (especially shoes!) so just wanted to fork over my dough and leave. Fast forward two weeks ago when I'm digging in my closet for dressier shoes for Open House. Voila - those Clarks I bought! I put them on..and realized the left shoe was floppy. Like, stretched up. Wtf? No likey. Needless to say I grabbed another pair that night. I headed into Clark's this afternoon with the goal of an even exchange. I dread stuff like this, so was mentally forelseeing a hassle: or me having to explain why I JUST realized - 9 months later - these shoes are wonky. How I'd have to point out that the leather on the left looks stretched, etc. I was greeted by the sales staff and stood in line for a bit. The lady in front of me commented what good service she had from the male associate behind the register. When it was my turn, he asked what he could help with. He checked their current inventory and when they didn't have any in stock, promptly ordered them to be delivered to my residence. Didn't bat an eye or bust out an inquisition about my receipt. I was in and out pretty quickly. Shoes will appear on my doorstep soon. Yays. A much better experience for sure. read more

I love Clarks shoes. About 95% of my shoe collection is from Clarks. They are comfortable and hold up for several years. I had been looking for a knee high boot for two years since the soles of my last pair of Clark boots (they lasted 5-6 years) had deteriorated. I had no luck until today. I picked out a bunch of boots and decided to buy two (unfortunately not on sale). What I appreciated about this store was that the sales person that greeted me and worked with me to find my boots did not badger me into purchasing or constantly ask what I'm looking for. I get quite annoyed when people do that. The sales person (Jay) was great. I asked him for several pairs of boots, he briefly looked them over, and then promptly returned with them in hand. He again didn't hover and pester me about which ones I liked better. He hung back and was available if I had any questions. I decided to buy two pairs and he promptly rung me up. 10/10 would shop here again. read more

Very friendly staff. These people who work here are very well trained and knowledgeable. We bought 2 pair of shoes here.
