There is parking nearby, although not directly in front of the store. They have many popular running shoe styles and some not common but nice options. Fleet feet is an amazing place to go to find running shoes that are comfortable. They ran me through a short program to expose what was going on with my feet. As a result, Elita, was able to recommend running shoes that would aid with my problems. Every shoe that she presented to me was excellent as far as fitting and arch support! This is the absolute best place to buy shoes - whether or not you are a runner. It's the only place the I buy running shoes and my husband just went there for a pair of everyday-not-running shoes. My husband is on his feet all day at work and runs races frequently so I took him here to get some new running shoes. He's a bit difficult to get shoes for since he has extra wide feet but fleet feet had several options for him to choose from. They used their nifty program that takes a three dimensional measurement of your foot and assessed his gait to make sure to to get him in the right type of shoe with maximum comfort. The person who helped us was knowledgeable and friendly and made sure to go over the difference in each shoe so that my husband knew what to look for when trying on each pair. He made us feel confident with our purchase but also let us know of their great 60 day return policy if my husband decides he's not happy with the way the shoe performs. I've been to Fleet Feet in the city, but had never been to this location. It's located in a really cute area, in the heart of "downtown" Elmhurst, near other cute restaurants and shops. I got cajoled into coming here on "an extended break" with two of my favorite coworkers (Ryan and Alicia) who are fond of corrupting me. They said we were "just going to Jamba Juice" but, clearly, they had ulterior motives! Ryan decided to buy some new gym shoes. They had him run on a treadmill that had a camera attached so they could study his body movements and recommend the perfect shoes. WOW...so totally modern technology! The owner was really fun and friendly, as well as educational about how to properly put on and lace your shoes. I have a credit I earned from their Rewards Program I haven't used so I'm thinking I will go back to purchase something and give these nice folks some business. This is not too far from my work, and I'd like to get more edu-macated more on running, shoes and perhaps do a little jog on the cool Technology Treadmill! read more

It's unfortunate I have to write this review. I came to this place based on a doctor referral to get high quality shoes and inserts. I was pleased with the service I got in the store, and was equally pleased with the purchase. The issue I have started a few days later when I called to speak to my salesman about a product they sold in the store that I had some questions about. He was busy, but I left the message with a staff member that he call me back soon, as I wanted to make the purchase the next day. I waited, and waited and waited, no call back. I waited over 2 hours. I retired from sales and marketing. When you sell high ends products, you want the customers coming back. I need to have good running shoes because I have super flat feet which cause my knees and back to hurt when I run regularly. The worker at Fleet Feet examined my feet had me walk back and forth to examine my gait and went it and brought out 3 pairs of shoes. Then he had me run in all of them to see how I felt. I did end up spending a lot of money but running shoes is something you shouldn't skimp on! I am pleased with the personalized experience I got from this store. "Some days you wanna be a baller and drop a Benjamin on some pimpin' physical therapy gear!" ... said no one ever. My slow butt started really running at the end of 2010 and I had a pretty successful race season in 2011. Unfortunately, knee issues and an ankle injury made me press pause. So here I am in 2015 trying to get back to where I was. I already bought some sweet running shoes for the season from Naperville Running Co. and they've helped a lot with my pronation problem; however, I can tell that something is still off. I know for a fact that my IT band is tight. I had issues with it before and went to physical therapy for it. I'm pretty sure my muscles in my left leg are rebelling from lack of use. Either that or my bad ankle is throwing things off, so I'm getting cramps in my hip and butt. I'm hoping it will work itself out with more use, but I want to stay on the safe side. Thus, I came to Fleet Feet Elmhurst to purchase a foam roller and The Stick roller massager. I was in the area for dinner and stopping by was convenient. I pass it all the time on my way to TRX but just never took the time to check them out. I believe one of my runner friends said he wasn't impressed with them. He usually went to one in Chicago. I would have to say I don't get the hate or else they've improved immensely since 2008-ish. I walked in and everyone made it clear they were ready to help me. Employee Matt asked if I was looking for anything specific and I said I needed a foam roller. He led me where they keep them in the back and helped me pick out a size and was kind enough to unstack a number of them so I could get a green one. He then explained the different The Stick designs and got me a shorter, firmer one to work with. Shamrock Shuffle 8K gear was 50% off and a couple of the employees made sure I knew about it and a few other deals going on. I checked out all the racks and wanted to buy a lot of the items, but I basically walked away with only what I intended to purchase, which is a fricken miracle! I attribute most of that to feeling claustrophobic because the store is small and they have running groups that meet there, so it was packed and I just wanted to get out ASAP. read more

I'm not exactly Usain Bolt but like to have decent running shoes. The big stores don't have people working who can distinguish the difference between the shoe's tongue and sole. My younger filly was in the market for a new pair so we dropped in here based on my previous success. Score! Will helped us. He spent an hour with us. He measured her feet, watched her walk to gauge her step, and asked questions about her usage. He then had her try on about 7 different pairs of shoes. He watched her run in them, walk in them, and kept her focused on the important issues in running shoe decision making- fit. In the end he had to order some from another store. The personal attention we received was exactly the reason we will continue to return for replacements. read more

Last racing season, I was having major problems with my foot. I had no idea it was because of the outlet-store Nike's I was running in until I went to Fleet Feet to get their opinion. They were incredible - had me run on their in-store treadmill, recorded my feet and played it back to me while they explained what kind of shoes I needed and why. They truly care about sending you home with the best shoes for your feet, and I don't think I'll ever go anywhere else. They had me jog on the treadmill to watch my feet, then suggested a shoe that would work best for me. One of my girlfriends took me here the other day. A young man helped us find the perfect shoes. They measure your feet sitting down and standing up. Then they watch you walk around the store. I'm more of a walker, but they do have a treadmill, so that they can watch you run on it. I never knew this, but they told me to go up one size because your feet swell and there should be lots of room in the toe-box. I decided to go ahead and trust them and bought the cushiest pair--Asics. OMG, I love them! I also got some great socks. The selection is awesome. They carry a small stock of really good products. They have massage gadgets, clothing, everything you need to run with the pros. I have big girls and they carry some serious sports bras. Me so happy! I'll definitely be back. read more

I will only buy my shoes from Fleet Feet. I am a big fan of supporting the local running stores as opposed to big box sporting goods stores. They are knowledgeable and have put me in a great shoe each time I have visited. If that shoe is not available, Josh was able to pick out 3 shoes from other brands that were comparable to what I was looking for; and all three of those worked out just as well! They also keep tract of every purchase you make, so you if you forget which style shoe you like or what brand sports bra you prefer, they can look it up for you. Josh and Emily are really friendly and are genuinely interested in what races you have coming up or what types of things you are looking for. I would definitely recommend this specific store to any runner I know, novice or experienced. read more

Amazing customer service and knowledgeable staff! I walked in wanting to get a shoe that supports my high arches and they educated me about inserts & differences in heel height. I landed up finding the perfect shoe! There was no pain in my feet when I ran and I almost felt like I was gliding on the pavement. Unfortunately, the shoe color I wanted was not in stock, but they shipped it to my home. It arrived 2 business days later! I used to come to fleet feet all the time for my running shoes. i would even go into the city before this location was built. i went in a couple of weeks ago for a new pair of running shoes. i have been seeing a physical therapist and she gave me a sheet on how to buy shoes. when i started talking to the sales people about what my physical therapist told me to buy, i started to feel like they were getting annoyed with me. i had this really young kid who just watched the way that i walked, didn't watch me run, didn't watch me run on a treadmill. so did he really know what kind of shoe to sell to me? when i did all the tests on shoes to make sure it was flexible, sturdy, etc. he didn't really help me out. i walked out with a pair of brooks that i honestly wasn't comfortable with. thank god my superfeet were still intact because fleet feet loves pushing superfeet inserts for some reason.i showed them to my therapist and she didn't like them either, they were too small and knowing that my feet swell up, i should have gone for the bigger size. the kid at fleet feet didn't say anything though, just gave me 8 and a halfs and didn't see if my toes were okay inside. i should have thought of it except my mind was more on stability and flexibility, my last running shoes were 8.5s so I didn't think about the sizing. thankfully i didn't wear them out and was able to return them. also, my therapist did a stability test with the new shoes, with the brooks inserts and the superfeet. I was more stable with the brooks inserts then the superfeet (pink ones). i could feel how unstable i was, it was unbelievable. glad i didn't buy a new set. instead i went to the runners soul just a block away. michelle was HUGE help. she watched me and RECORDED me on video running on the treadmill so that i can see for myself how i run. she even gave me tips to improve my running. sold me a fantastic pair of shoes ...actually 2 pairs. it's crazy how fantastic customer service can get you to spend double the amount you were going to spend. i took my sauconys to my trainer and she even liked how they were more flexible and than the brooks, and i got size 9s... so a lot more space. michelle even said that if i did go with the same brooks she would have given me a size 9. glad to know that the workers at runners soul really have your best interest in mind. read more

I have been running for 3 years and have had so many issues with my feet and just dealt with it thinking it was my feet....The first time I went in I thought I was going to get a great pair of shoes and socks then I went home and ran and it felt like there were knives digging into the bottoms of my feet. I called them and they told me to come in with the shoes plus insoles when I did they put me into another pair of insoles and sent me on my way....I went running again and felt the same pain...I called again so I went in and they got rid of the insoles and gave me a cheaper pair of shoes rather than the $130.00 pair of shoes that they had original sold me. Please note I live 120 miles round trip from this place (multiply by 3 that is a lot of miles in a 1 week time span)...I will have to say unless you know exactly what you want it is not worth it. Also when I went back the 3rd time I felt like a pain in the a$@ and no one at the store made me feel any different a lot looks but you could tell they were annoyed esp. the woman who sold me the 1st pair of soles and shoes. *Go here only of you know what you want and need. The people here are not experts they all may be runners but that is about it. They are so big into selling you all this crap that you do not need to run...it seems to be all about the $$$$, dissapointed ***And remember COTTON is ROTTEN! Don't wear cotton socks!**** read more

Went to Fleet Feet to find shoes for interval training workouts and I was blown away. They have a machine that scans your feet to determine your fit. I learned more about my feet in 5 minutes than I have in a lifetime. They had many options of shoes to compliment my workout, my feet and at various price points. They even kept my account from years ago and I had a $15 off coupon. Worked out this morning with the new shoes and it felt like I was wearing clouds! We had such a great experience here. We are not from the area, but stopped in to pick up a few things for a long run and asked about a recommendation for a route. The people in the store could not have been more helpful or friendly, and remembered us when we went back the next day. Also, my dad bought something that ended up not fitting after he ripped the packing open (to shreds!). They still exchanged it without a problem. I went to fleet feet as a first time customer to buy shoes for a first time marathon. The shoes i picked out caused cramping and soreness on my first two runs. Thinking I had already used them (I put about 10 miles on them), I didn't try to bring them back right away. A few days after buying them I got a "feedback request" via email and provided my feedback there. The manager immediately contacted me and asked me to come in and do an exchange. I was pleasantly surprised. He gave me top service and diagnosed my issue almost immediately. I did an exchange and now running on the shoes he switched me to has made running feel great! I started running a couple of months ago and did not really know what type of shoe or other gear I needed. Folks here at FleetFeet are super cool, they took time to make sure I got what I needed. I did not feel they were pushing to make their sale. In fact, I just went into the store for window shopping. Their assistance prompted me to buy the shoe that I needed. They let me try the shoe and run with it outside to ensure I was comfortable. They also do returns for any reason with or without the receipt. Seems like they focus on the service and your comfort.
