How is this not a gay bar?

How is this not a gay bar? High quality athletic wear, specializing in running sports. Nice bright location, helpful staff, misleading name.

Class. Act. As a Park Ridge resident, I was curious to check out the new location as it was just around the corner from my home. I am not a runner by any means but was looking for a pair of shoes that I can walk around the neighborhood in that wouldn't give me blisters. As soon as I entered the store, Austin greeted me and asked if he could help. I told him what I was looking for and after he watched me walk, he made a few recommendations and brought out three pairs of shoes for me to try on. I was impressed with how knowledgeable he was about each product, each company and the way that the shoe would potentially fit my foot. I settled on a pair and purchased them. Within two days, I received the hand written note, and coupon in the photo. What a class act! I give Austin and this store much respect for its high touch customer service. Thank you! I will absolutely return to Dick Pond in Park Ridge!

I loved that wallet: it was a coated canvas of their signature fall tonal paisley with a soft buff interior. I wore it out. I've since purchased a few pieces from Etro for my wardrobe, notable shirts with luxe fabrics in bold, sometimes whimsical patterning but bespoke tailoring. I can't really justify these beautiful clothes at retail prices. My few purchases have been from the Etro Outlet at Desert Hills Shops in Palm Springs, which by the way is my favorite designer outlet in the country, and a freak find at TJ Maxx in Gurnee Mills. The buttons are thick mother of pearl with notched cuffs and two small buttons at the neck to support the wide English spread collar. The clothes are for a wealthy dandy. The patterning and colors are gorgeous. As you might expect, the retail prices will take your breath away with dress shirts starting at about $400 and going to $650. I'm happy to report that we have a new jewel box of an outlet here in the Midwest at Fashion Outlets. Men and women can shop for everything from small leather goods to formal wear to sportswear. Oh, and the prices, while high, are much more approachable. There was but one attendant in the boutique yesterday, and she was busy restocking the selections with new shipments. There's a lot to look through. I entered the store yesterday to check out their wallet selection. I was very pleased! The gorgeous coated brocade still exists and the prices are 60% off retail. The friendly attendant opened up the glass case and let me check out the wares at my leisure. I almost bought a lavender paisley wallet when my husband warned me to wait for Christmas. I'll be dreaming about it.

They didn't greet us or even say anything to us, and the one young girl who was working helped a young girl find a Panic at the Disco! shirt, and she seemed so annoyed when she walked her to the back of the store. After "helping" the young girl, the employee literally brushed right past me and did not even say one word to me. Nice way to treat customers, apparently they pretend we are invisible. If you want to buy band shirts, this is your place to go, but don't expect the employees to really help you. Anytime you ever ask if they have more of a size in the back, they say no because all of what they have is out on the floor... Also, most of the time, they won't even say that they can check another location for you or that they can call you when they get more in, instead, they just walk away from you. Very annoying location, but since this store caters to teenagers, teenagers usually don't give a crap about customer service.

We happened upon True Religion and headed inside. The jeans at True Religion are all right around $100/each. My personal peril is that I constantly fluctuate sizes, so personally TR isn't for me. Yvonne found a fabulous pair of dark rinse bootcut jeans that she can dress up or down. Considering it was one of very, very few pairs she owns, it was totally worth the purchase. Investment piece - check. If you prefer to shop solo, without the assistance of an associate, there are piles upon piles of jeans for you to dig through - and the store is very organized. For the most part, the associates are relaxed here. They are willing to help, but they don't breathe down your neck. If you prefer to hide out in a dressing room and love when associates hand you stuff and say, "try this on!" - well, you're more like Yvonne than myself, but this isn't what they do at TR. The associate who helped out my friend wasn't too eager to make a sale, but did assist in finding the correct size and recommending jeans. Aside from jeans, there are a lot of funky graphic t-shirts in the $40 range, most of which are emblazoned with the TR logo and the infamous Buddha playing a guitar mascot. I cannot imagine paying TR's non-outlet prices, but their jeans are great and worth the $100 purchase especially if you like to only own a few pairs.

I could plainly see the washes of the jeans but they were folded in stacks and I couldn't tell the cut or decorations. I passed a woman who was focused on attaching size stickers to the legs of pants. It turned out that she was the manager and she did not greet me. I passed her and found an associate who seemed available. I told her that I wanted jeans that would look appropriate with gym shoes and she seemed confused. She gave me one style of jeans to try on in two different sizes. The cut was fine but I was concerned about all of the buttons and the stitching seemed a little garish. Furthermore, I was concerned that the jeans made my derriere look flat. The associate did not offer up a different style of jeans to allay my concerns. She seemed to consider her job done and I assumed that this was it. This was the best pair of jeans I could get - at least at True Religion. I poked around a little more because I thought that their logo t-shirts were SO CUTE! I loved the guitar playing happy Buddha! Unfortunately, the cheapest t-shirt was $40 so I took a pass. I bought the jeans for $99 (before tax). I was pretty pensive about my purchase and jumped at the opportunity to try on jeans at The Denim Lounge the next day. I found a more suitable pair and quickly resolved to return the ill-purchased jeans to True Religion. The return process was quick and friendly. I told the associate that I was concerned about all of the buttons - especially on the back pockets. The associate doing the return simply smiled and agreed with me. He also didn't suggest a different pair of New Religion jeans.
