This was my first time visiting and I took advantage of the foot scan. Oscar was great and was patient as I asked questions and tried various types of running shoes. My main motivation for stopping in the store was to try Hoka running shoes since many people mentioned liking them and I'm preparing for my first race. I was surprised that I wasn't as impressed with them as I was the shoes I ended up purchasing. I appreciated Oscar calling a nearby store to hold the shoes I wanted in the color I wanted as well (since this store did not have the color I was looking for.) I recommend asking for Oscar when you stop in! It's a great location, quite welcoming, good lighting and there is a treadmill to try out the shoes you try on. read more

Explained the results of my scans which allowed me to learn more about my feet and how that relates to what type of shoe I should wear to compliment them. He's also a really cool character overall telling me some stories about his ultra marathon races which added to the experience. Great selection of shoes, apparel, supplements. From what I purchased today, which was the new balance rebel v4 and some running shorts, no real savings, the apparel was on the costlier side ($54 for running shorts) but they have a buy three, get one free for their socks which I appreciate because you would save a little bit for buying four pairs of balega socks, for example. I can't say enough about this store because I had such a great experience last night. I came in because it was time for a new pair of running shoes, and while I like the shoes I've been running in for a while (Brooks Ghost), I was intrigued by their fitting. I've got my first half marathon coming up so I wanted to make sure I have the best shoe for me. I made an appointment but it wasn't super busy at 5 on a Friday, likely due to the snow. Russell helped me and WOW were they INCREDIBLE! They not only suggested my current shoe as an option without even knowing what I currently run in, but they picked the ghost for me to try on again to compare to other shoes I was trying on and they brought out the EXACT shoe (same color scheme) I already wear without even knowing it. Talk about really getting a sense of me and what style I'd like! They just really nailed the whole thing, and seemed really interested in how I run and which shoe would work best for ME. I ended up going with a shoe I did not expect, and I'm so grateful to Russell for their help in choosing it! My boyfriend also came in at the end of my fitting because he's also looking for a new shoe. Russell got him going in the same way and my bf is super happy with his shoe selection. We both felt really well taken care of, listened to, and just impressed with Fleet Feet, and Russell in particular. I ended up buying a new pair of shoes, Russell also helped me choose a new running bra and they let me know of Fleet Feet's super generous return policy- if something doesn't work for you, just bring it back in 60 days and they'll let you return it. That makes me feel a lot more comfortable trying out a new shoe knowing if it doesn't work for me after a few runs I can bring it back. However I think Russell was spot on so I doubt I'll be returning my new shoes. They also have a great rewards program and run groups a few times a week. Russell and the other people who were working last night were just so pleasant and fun, it seems like a great place to join a community. Prices are basically MSRP, but I enjoyed this experience so much that I think it's worth paying full price rather than getting a few bucks off online so I'll definitely be here every time I need a new shoe. Last Weekend I participated in The Race to Wrigley 5K-a Race Run by The Chicago Cubs Charity Network. I went to this Fleet Feet Location to pick up my packet prior to Race Day! The packet pick-up was very well organized. Participants entered the store and followed the signs for the packet pick-up located on the second floor. -The process was simple- The volunteers scanned my QR Race Code and packed my race bag with a $10.00 gift coupon to Fleet Feet future purchase of $25.00 or more, my Chicago Cubs participant shirt, my race day bib, and a Chicago Cubs reusable shopping bag-it was all presented and so well and packed individually! The staff was incredibly kind and enthusiastic and the lines moved quickly. I love this location....so many fun Chicago themed running gear for women and men! I also noticed all of the accolades on the Fleet Feet Hall of Fame with pictures signed by famous national and international runners as well as several awards for "Best Running Store" in America Awards! Yay! This is a great place to go for all things running. I came in for the full foot scan experience and they took their time to make sure all the scans came out right and were accurate. Turns out I had a slight pronation and could benefit from some more supportive shoes. The shoes turned out to be very comfortable and great for my long runs. I really like their website as well, as there's a huge selection. The rewards program also seems very generous. This location also hosts group runs each week, but I've yet to go on one. But I plan to in the future! read more

I went into Fleet Feet to get my feet scanned and check out some new running shoes. I'm running my first half marathon in a few months and my current shoes were a little tight and gave me blisters. As soon as I walked in, Mary greeted me and was able to help right away. She walked me through the foot scanning process, explained the results, and was so patient as I tried on almost 10 pairs of shoes! She was also one of the sweetest people I've met, and just such a delight to work with. My only complaint is the in store size selection for women. I have a larger foot and would have loved to try on women's shoes in store - I ended up choosing a men's shoe that fit just right. Overall, a great experience. read more

I always wait too long to buy new shoes, so when my feet started to hurt, I knew it was time to go back to Fleet Feet to get new shoes. I'm not a runner anymore, but I get my 10K steps/day and do a lot of other workouts, including hiking and weight training. I made an appointment to be sure that there would be time for a proper fitting and Aubrey helped me out. There's a scan of your feet and then you walk across a pressurized pad to analyze your gait. Once she had the results, Aubrey shows them to me and explained the digital output so that I understood what my feet needed to be fit properly. She then produced shoes that work for my type of foot and gait. I tried on several pairs, walking in each of them and selected three. (Yes, three!) I was very pleased with the time and attention that was taken to get the proper shoes for my feet. I had tried a different store recently and was sorely disappointed in the service. I will not make that mistake again -- when I need new shoes I'll be back at Fleet Feet. There is one drawback to Fleet Feet. They are part of Every Woman's Marathon, which is funded by the dairy industry. Dairy is a product that is harmful to the animals that are raised for their milk, and also for the male calves who are either killed or sold to be used for veal. Humans are the only animals that continue to drink milk after they are weaned. We need to wean ourselves off this very harmful food. Fleet Feet, please disavow the dairy industry. Thanks read more

I hate running. I really do, if someone asks me if I want to run I assume that there's a fire or a bear nearby. That being said, it's inevitable that cardio will have to be part of any fitness routine at some point no matter how much you avoid it. My running shoes weren't providing the support I needed and I figured it was time to replace them even though I hadn't reached the mileage limit and just wanted to buy the current year model of my shoes. Just to highlight how often I don't run, the model I used was no longer being made and so I came here fully expecting a look of suppressed/open shock and/or laughter. I found that they were pretty understanding and when I told them of the shoe that I used PRIOR to my obsolete ones it gave them an idea of what I was looking for- a lightweight shoe that didn't have a ton of padding and minimal toe drop that I could run into the ground. I was given a bunch of different options and then was able to try them out on their treadmill-which is a huge plus when you're shopping for running shoes in winter because running a few steps inside a store isn't really the best barometer. I settled on a nice pair of Altras that gave me what I was looking for and then some. I look forward to coming back again, probably in five years when my shoes are held together by a few atoms. read more

While riding a bike, I just found this place. Its near on street so it's easy to find their shop. I'm just curious what's its inside so I park my bike and enter to this shop. I'm amazed on their inside. There are lots of products they have including shoes, short, shirt, cap, jacket pants, merchandise and many more. There is customer inside and staff assist them while they choosing the customer shoes. Some staff assist me but I said to her I can handle myself since I just look because I have no money in my pocket. The staff looks nice and accommodating. So I think they have a great service. Their wall of shoes was organizing well. They have different color and kind of shoes. At some are there are hanging shirt and short. I look at their quality of fabric and it was good. I'm a recent fan of running stores and Fleet Feet is cream of the crop! It's so much eye candy for anyone who runs. While there are a few of the Fleet Feet locations, I tend to go to the Old Town store. Most of my races are RAM Racing based and the packet pickups are now here due to their partnership. The staff has always been super helpful and friendly here and I envy that fun work environment. Parking is easy out along the streets. Aside from selling shoes they also have clothes, caps, bags, socks and tumblers. Their shoes are organized well in the sidewall of the place. They also have chairs to sit in in the middle part. There are few customers inside. I can see that there is a girl customer and some staff help her to put the shoes on. And they have good customer service. I want to buy shoes so I look at their wall. There are a lot of good and cool shoes. I want to try the shoes with a color of orange, white, balck and purple. Those combinations of colors were really cool. I asked for my size and they gave me it immediately. It fit me and I purchased it. It's a little bit expensive but worth the price. Well I will definitely be back here again. read more

When I walked into Fleet Feet Lincoln Square today, I was just an unshaven, overweight 50 something that needed new shoes. My shoe fitting helper Meghan didn't know me from Adam. She doesn't know I have been buying from FF from shortly after Dave and Lisa opened their first store, she doesn't know I have run 50+ marathons and 200+ other road races, she doesn't know I have purchased dozens of pairs of shoes for myself and my wife at Fleet Feet, and Vertel's before them. But I have. Despite what I looked like, and whatever preconceived notions she may or may not have had about me as a customer, she gave me the same quality, courteous, and highly attentive service to select a new pair of walking / jogging shoes. She treated me as if I were a a competitive marathon athlete. That is how I have always been treated by FF employees over the years, and that is why I keep going back to purchase my shoes there every time I need a new pair. Sure, that isn't every 2 or three months any more, but it doesn't matter. I get the same quality service as this overweight 50 something as I did when I was a three hour marathoner. That says something to me about how FF treats EVERY CUSTOMER, and I gotta tell you, it is top shelf. As I explained to Meghan today that I had last purchased Ghosts and Dyads, she immediately noticed I had a pair of Pegasus on. Did I like them? (not really). She also was quick to point out that if I liked the Ghosts and Dyads, which she would bring up for me, she noted that if I wasn't running now, but more walking and jogging and concerned about cushioning in a neutral shoe, maybe I should try on the Brooks Glycerins. I did, and despite them being $40 more than either the Ghosts or Dyads, they were the better shoe for me for right now. They went out with me on my feet and immediately got a 6 mile workout. Fleet Feet is more than just a shoe store, they are a member of our community. Their employees genuinely take an interest in you and listen to what you want shoes for and help you make a great purchase. As a company they also are great corporate citizens, and run some of the best races in the city. This is a gem retailer in our midst. Yes, you may be able to find that shoe at a bit better price somewhere else. You might. But will you be buying it from a retailer you WANT to be around for the rest of your running/walking/active life? Will that cheaper retailer be there for its community? Got my first pair of running shoes here earlier this year. I wanted to get a good pair of running shoes for an upcoming 5K. A co-worker had suggested i go to Fleet Feet. Upon arrival, you are paired up with an associate who assesses your gait on a treadmill. From there they suggest the proper shoe/inserts for you. Overall, I appreciate the time they take with each customer. They really make the effort to make sure the shoe you leave with fits you perfectly and that you leave happy with your purchase. Shoes can easily cost well over $100 especially after taxes but are worth the investment. read more

I initially visited Fleet Feet Lincoln Square when they were generously hosting the Illinois Science Council's Pi K Fun Run. Then, my husband went in for a new pair of running shoes. He came back feeling great about his experience. I had to shop there for myself. Fleet Feet has a staff that gives all sorts of 1-on-1 attention. I worked with Saxon. Their 3-D foot scanner is super informative (and looks like something out of Star Trek.) You can even test the shoes out on a treadmill. I learned my old shoes were a size too small. At one point, a customer came in looking for Saxon, but he did not rush me at all- on a holiday, no less! He ended up recommending a shoe brand I'd never heard before, specifically built for runners with pronated feet like mine. Prices at Fleet Feet are high but no higher than sticker prices on the shoe manufacturers' websites. The cost is totally worth it for the individualized service. Plus, Saxon merged my account with my husband's so we could benefit from their loyalty program together. read more

Let me first start out by saying, I know nothing about running! Still, I thought I should get some legit running shoes for the Big Ten 5K I am doing. When walking in, I felt very nervous because I know nothing about running and there were tons of things on the shelves. Luckily, Victor and Anthony at Fleet Feed came to the rescue. I thought this was going to be a quick visit to get some shoes, but it ended up turning into a 45 minute consultation where I learned all about how to better take care of my feet. They had me test three shoes, test them on a treadmill, and let me know what kind of foot I had! What really impressed me was that I was a total novice and they did not make me feel dumb and did not appear to take advantage of me by recommending a ridiculous overpriced shoe. What was brought out was exactly what I needed: Nice running shoes for the casual runner. Others have said that they are a little on the pricier side, but I was actually amazed that I stayed UNDER my budget (I really had no idea how much this all would cost).The customer service is outstanding here so if they want to charge a little more to keep Victor and Anthony around (along with the other employees), so be it! I thought I did a review with the check-in. This is a real pro running shop. They question you about all your running experiences, look at your existing shoes, feet and have you try on the shoes and walk/run. By observing your feet while you move around they can and do make very educated decisions as to the best shoe and fit for your feet. In our case the sales lady recognized things about my wife's feet that had only been pointed out by a Podiatrist. She also noticed things not recognized by the doctor, but were critical in getting a shoe to fit properly and feel supportive (go Erin!). Chicago's local running store... nice place. I've been to two locations in town - one to pick up a race packet and the other to shop for some running essentials. There was a German street festival next door but this store seemed super busy - either people gearing up for the half marathon the next day, or the gorgeous weather tempting people to come out and exercise. Good selection of clothes and merchandise. The staff (though busy) were friendly and helpful. I ended up mostly browsing while my brother-in-law came away with some shirts and shorts. We were also looking for some sports sunglasses, but after some searching in the back, the girl could not find the other lenses that my brother-in-law was looking for. Despite the non purchase in the sunglasses department, I'd say the trip was pretty productive. The store has two entrances and it looks like it also had a bunch of running groups and exercise programs for the community. read more

The location used to have great staff that was very knowledgeable in terms of finding the perfect running shoe for you. I remember in them taking the time to measure your feet, your ankle positions, and the balls and the heel of your feet touch the surface while they do a running test (both on the treadmill and outside up along Lincoln), and be very specific in terms of which shoes would be perfect for your arch. They then offer you a very limited selection that would be perfect for you, and you choose based on comfort and the aesthetics. However, my recent trip there seemed very rush and the process of finding some selections seemed like an afterthought. I feel as if they had lost that extra 'personal touch' and 'service.' :( Prices are comparable to any other independently-owned shoe stores. They are super awesome about covid safety steps. Each appointment gets their own square, and every square is cleaned afterwards. I was still able to try to treadmill to try out my shoes--which I really appreciate. They gave me a great run down of types of shoes I need and explained why I was experiencing pain due to my current shoes. Highly recommend. Running shoes in general are expensive but you only get one set of knees and feet so take care of them! read more

I've been here a couple times but came in most recently for the 2017 IL Brewery Running Series Kick-off Event that Fleet Feet Sports - Lincoln Square hosted. I've always liked this location, though it's much smaller than many of the others. The staff have been friendly and helpful, and I know many of my friends keep coming back for their running needs. At the event I attended they stayed open later than usual to accommodate us. We mostly learned about the 2017 IL BRS but the employees were there to help as if we were regular (or slightly better than regular) customers, too. They offered to fit people and encouraged us to browse and shop after hours. I was finally able to try on some Brooks gear I've been coveting but couldn't get a straight answer about from Brooks directly. I was glad I had this opportunity since I found out that some things I was interested in didn't work well and they offered to grab me different sizes or colors. Whether you're a walker only, just getting into jogging or an avid runner, I highly recommend hitting up this shop before pounding the pavement. read more

I went to Fleet Feet after Mike Morrow at Athletico Andersonville South recommended it. I had had 3 X-rays and and MRI, which determined that I had torn meniscal cartilage (also had plantar fasciitis). Lindsay at Fleet Feet worked with me for over an hour. She measured my feet 4 times and watched me walk. She recommended a few brands as well as orthotics. Her patience was unbelievable. After various combinations and repeat trials, I finally decided on a pair as well as the inserts. She promptly went to cut the orthotics and returned with a smile. No pressure. No heavy sales pitch. Just informative help that I truly needed. As unbelievable as it sounds, within 3 days 75% of my pain was gone. I seldom write reviews- but Mike at Athletico as well as Lindsay and Fleet Feet deserve 5 stars. Thank you both. read more

Overall pretty good. They are taking Covid seriously. Big plus. They computer analyze your feet very quickly. Awesome. They have friendly staff that is reasonably knowledgeable. I like the place and would say that you will get fit well. Negatives: Prices are high, they have a limited number of colors per shoe, and although they price match, they are a pain about it. If they are too much of a pain with the price match, just walk out and buy elsewhere. Who has the time and patience to waste energy haggling. read more

My boyfriend and I just left this evening with some new kicks (and insoles. And socks.) from this awesome store! Phil was the guy who helped us out and he did an AMAZING job of taking care of us. He measured us professionally and talked about our goals, clearly super knowledgeable on the subject. At no point was he condescending or snobbish about what we did and didn't know and he did such a great job guiding us to our new shoes. We both got a pair that we LOVE and and we are so excited to spread the word about this great spot. The store was clean and all of the employees seemed nice and enthusiastic to help. I loved that they had a treadmill there so I could try out my shoes under the conditions I was going to be using them before I even walked out the door! Needed new shoes after my physical therapist said I needed to deal with an issue with how I walk. Went here to get an actual person to help. The technology was nifty and the guy did help me find a good pair of shoes. The price was much less than I thought, so that is good. My only critique (a small one, as shown by my 5 stars), is how much the salesperson was trying to upsell me. Socks, insoles, etc. there was also a moment where he had forgotten that I have a physical therapist, decent knowledge of where my body is, and don't run (at all, from a disability). Again though, glad for his help with finding shoes that will help address the issue with the rest of my peg. read more
