My favorite store to shop for my running essentials. I've bought a few things from socks to shoes here. The staff is stellar. Everyone is so helpful and eager to help. Recently Raul went above and beyond from me, ordering a show from the warehouse that they didn't have in stock. I was able to come by the next day to try it on. He also did an analysis of my feet, mapping the hot spots, my arches and other key indicators that determine the best shoe for me. I heard about their feet evaluations and decided to go to this location the other week. I was taken care of immediately and the girl who helped me (I forgot her name but she was younger, Caucasian and had shorter hair) was so so so helpful. She was very knowledgeable, patient and really helped me find a shoe that worked super well with my feet. I left with my new hokas, some socks, a spray to protect white shoes, and a windbreaker and was super satisfied with my first visit. Went in yesterday looking for a pair of new running shoes. As I walked in I was greeted by the young man at the front desk. As I got closer to the shoes. There was a young lady that was sitting down on her phone. She gave me a weird look and told the people at the front I'm going to lunch got up and walked away as I approached the area she was sitting in. I'm sorry I interrupted your alone time at work. I started to look at the shoes and it seemed like no one was coming to ask if I needed to try anything on. Finally another employee came and helped me unfortunately they did not have the shoe I was looking for. Management needs to work on these employees customer service skills. I came into the store on a Sunday where there were more staff working there than people coming into the store. About two staff members were working with other customers. A staff member asked me what I needed help with and they informed me that they will get to me shortly after they were done with the customer. After 20 minutes, I asked for help from another staff member and he said "we are all busy.' Ten minutes later, I got up from the shoe fitting section and noticed about 3 staff members behind the counter talking. I assumed someone was the manager and I informed him that I asked for help twice but was never helped even after waiting. His excuse was "well maybe we didn't see you." The store is very small. This place has awful customer service even though it is well staffed and not busy. I have never been to a shoe store where I was not helped even after asking for help. read more

Always had a hard time finding tennis shoes until I tried out fleet feet! The staff is extremely helpful and you walk on an electronic pad to determine your shoe size, arch, etc and they bring out shoes based on the analysis. Another great perk is you can try them out running and if they don't work you can return and swap for a new pair within 30 days. You can get some really good service here or really bad service based on who you get to help you. I think I worked with Brian last time, who was knowledgeable and helpful and you could tell he knew his stuff. Some of their other salespeople are simply horrible. It's not an exaggeration. I've had multiple experiences there with salespeople who really don't listen and do what they can to put both you down and your preferences down so they can choose the shoes that THEY want for you in the budget THEY deem correct. My second to last visit I worked with a saleswoman who kept bringing the wrong shoe size because her iPad and her intuition told her to ignore my words and my purchase history. When I called her on it, she fired back with a judgmental assessment of my walking shoes, which I had already told her I don't use for running. Tip: if you're a returning customer start your visit by asking them to look up your previous purchases and talk about what you liked and didn't like. If they look like they aren't listening or they're confused by your feedback, ask to get help from someone else. If you can't get help from someone else, try on a few pairs you like then look them up on Amazon or the manufacturer's site to buy them there instead. read more

Came here on 1/14/24 to purchase shoes for my first 5k. Was hoping to get supported by one of their employees to choose the right shoe for my feet however the person who helped me was unbelievably rude. Literally acted like he didn't want to be helping me and didn't care the entire time. He just brought boxes of shoes and handed them to me without saying a word. Didn't ask my preferences, didn't describe what kind of shoes would be best for my feet or make any recommendations. When I tried asking him for details on the shoes he was handing me, he didn't know at all or at least didn't care enough help. It felt very discriminatory honestly. Won't ever ever be going back. For those who think that a fitting is unnecessary because you can run in just about any shoe, I once thought that too and now I definitely do not!! I really thought that following enticing ads for the coolest and latest shoes would be enough to get me running successfully, but boy was I wrong. More often than not, the shoes would bother my feet to the point where some shoes wouldn't even rack up 100 miles before I had to stop using them - turns out I never knew that my feet had certain characteristics that would prevent these shoes from being the best options for me. When you get fitted at Fleet Feet, they run an analysis on your foot and get certain measurements, such as your size, arch, width, etc. After watching how you walk and explaining every characteristic of your feet, they'll suggest a few pairs of shoes that would best fit you and bring them out for you to try on. I tried on brands I've never tried before and ended up choosing a shoe I absolutely loved running in. I absolutely love Fleet Feet and especially their location in the South Loop. The staff there are some of the nicest and most knowledgable people in the industry and the service they provide really can't be matched elsewhere. Highly highly highly recommend Fleet Feet for runners of every level and am looking forward to coming back for future fittings! Oh and also their running clubs are awesome. I know they aren't planning on bringing them back anytime soon due to Covid, but I really do miss them. Also highly recommend joining their running group once they return! read more

I am a beginner when it comes to running. I know the basics--stretch, ice, and find the right shoes. I've always wanted to find a place that could help me find the right running shoe. The Nike and Foot Locker stores are OK, but there's typically no educated insight behind the employee's recommendations at those stores. In my search, I looked on Yelp and saw they had some great reviews, so I gave them a try. As soon as I entered, there was a staff member (Elvia?) that greeted me and asked what I was looking for. I told her I was looking for running shoes and gave her my experience and issues. She sized my feet and observed how I walked and ran on the treadmill. She recorded my run and pointed out why I was having issues. She picked out 6 pairs of shoes and I tried them on and tested them all walking and running. After the visit, not only did I leave with a great pair of shoes, but also with tips on my running and knowledge about my own form and needs. The staff here is exceptional and their knowledge and attentiveness to your personal goals and issues is encouraging. I will be visiting again, and maybe look into the events they hold. I spent $145 on some New Balances and the visit took about an hour. read more

UhhhI've only been here once but based on my one experience, I'll be coming here again. I'm new to long distance running, and I'm training for a marathon. At a recommendation, I went to Fleet Feet. First off, the person that helped me the whole time was super friendly, and was really patient with all my questions, which I had a lot, and helped me find a really nice pair if running shoes. They recorded my running style and gave me a special shoes based on how my foot lands on the ground. I guess I land on the side of my foot sometimes, so they gave me one that helps correct for it. But I didn't decide after trying one. I think I tried 5 pairs, all with slightly different features before picking one. I got a chance to run with all of them too! This was an outstanding experience. Tya was an excellent sales person. I'm not the world's most patient shopper. The first pair of shoes that feels good, I'm ready to go. Tya took my foot measurements and video taped me walking and jogging. Then she went in the back and got several boxes of shoes. I tried a couple of pairs on and then made a pick. Tya gently persisted until I tried on every pair of shoes. Then she had me walk around with different a shoe from one pair on one foot and a shoe from the other pair on the other foot. I politely asked the guy to double check the shoehorn bc it said $130. He came back to the register and confirmed the price said $130. Instead of allowing me to purchase the shoe for that price, he called his manager and they tried to only give me %10 off the $170. I told them to keep the shoe and walked out. I came in on a night when the store was hosting a run so it was really intimidating at first, but I was greeted right away and one of the girls ( I didn't get her name ) helped me find what I needed to stay warm. Immediately when I walked in, I was greeted by every employee, and Justin ended up addressing my issues. Though it was so close to the end of the night, Justin was so accommodating and really did all he could to help me become satisfied with a more comfortable shoe for my next couple of races. I walked into a Fleet Feet for a new pair of minimal shoes. I walked past several associates without ever receiving a "hello" or any welcoming. I sat down on one of their benches and started browsing their shoe selection. Found the pair I wanted in about 2 minutes and sat there waiting for someone to help me out. As 10 minutes passed, a fellow asked me if I needed help, which I replied "yes." This is when I was told I needed a number and he handed me one. At this moment, I felt like I was now at a deli counter. Another 10 minutes passed and I was still waiting shoe in hand. I kept looking around hoping someone would see that I was ready to buy and maybe just ask me what size I was to start the process of trying the shoes on. Nothing of the sort. So I left- not making the planned purchase. Maybe it was the way I was dressed? Maybe it was my backpack? Maybe it was a lack of common sense and customer service 101 why I wasn't helped, greeted, offered. This is a small business which I would like to support- but the inability to provide eventually did them in. As I walked out, no goodbye or interjection by an associate to try and save the sale. The store itself appears to be a new location and if you are trying to find it on the map it can be kinda confusing so be warned that it is located in the shopping center on Roosevelt to the west of Clark st. Just past target on the right. The store seems to be a little smaller than their wells st location but still covers all the basics for a running store. Shoes clothes and accessories. The lady who helped us out was very friendly and I'm always impressed by fleet feets staffs eagerness to help as well as product knowledge. The people who work here seem to live for running and running shoes. I gotta admit if I met them anywhere else in life other than a running store I'd probably find them weirdly obsessive. Anyways, the downside to this location is the location. It is a little tricky to find and parking, while free, is located on the lower deck. If you try and park up top by the shops entrances it runs $2.25 per 15 minutes. read more

Fleet Feet is one of my favorite running stores. I haven't been going as much as I used to because I started running with another group that meets elsewhere. I won a free pair of sneakers and had to redeem them at this location. A little out of the way from where I live but I am always down for checking out running stores. The store is smaller than their Old Town location but it has all your running needs and they also host fun runs. The salespeople were super friendly and excited about me winning the shoes. I tried on the Nike Flyknit Lunar 2's and they let me go out on a test run outside to make sure they fit well. Great running store! read more

Staff is friendly, helpful and he knows a lot of thing 'bout shoes which is nice. They have a nice selection of shoes but I must say that it is only limited. This is my first time running a 15k race and my first time buying running shoes. Needless to say I have no experience in picking out any running shoes. That didn't matter though, as soon as I walked in I was greeted by Nicole, who seemed to be one of the sales associates. After a couple minutes of observing the way I run, she helped me figure out the right pair of shoes for my style of running, the right support, the right size. We tried a few different pairs of shoes, and some other supports to go with the shoes. Ultimately I ended up with a pair I felt were very comfortable. Nicole was very pleasant, patient and very informative to any questions I had.
