May not be totally convenient to walk or get in your car to get here but, the real advantage is you get to see how the shoes look and feel on your feet. A few years later, I went to this exact same store to buy another set of boots. Horrible Service, Disrespect, and total #Mistreatment. The staff was very rude when I tried to make a return. I was unhappy with a pair of white boots I tried on again after I purchased, and I brought them back to make an exchange and they said no. Came here with my brother to buy his 1st pair. The clerk was very helpful, guiding him and asking questions about his lifestyle, etc. He came in for the For Life pair, she was helpful and explained the way to register them online and how he would only need to pay for shipping to exchange when the soles wore out, etc. By asking about his lifestyle, she recommended he add on the insert, which is a good call for those who stand on their feet all day, as he does. It was a great idea to add that in there as well- he ended up purchasing the insole as well. We paid the meter for an hour but were in and out with new boots and insoles in 20 minutes. This is my second visit to this location. The first time the service was excellent, The manager explained in detail the difference between traditional doc martens and the vegan line. I left extremely happy with my purchase and returned several weeks later to purchase a pair of Mary Jane's. I brought a separate person with me each time, they also ended up purchasing boots because of the pleasing store and informative & kind assistance. Also the staff were extremely attentive and professional about covid measures, keeping the correct number of people in the store and making sure everyone used hand sanitizer and wore their masks on the way in. This is where you go to get your Docs. My stepdaughter is in town, and for her birthday it was time to get her b-day boots. We asked her if she preferred to just go to Nordstrom's and take a peek around, but she insisted on coming here. Living all the way up north, we thought of a million different ways we could have spent our travel time, but boy did she teach us a thing or two! Yep, they have every color, type of leather, and size a person could want. Boots the same color with different eyelets and a variety of different colored laces. The service was outstanding and informative. Did you know you can get insurance for your boots so they are guaranteed for life? And, did you know that if you treat your boots with the their leather care (just $5), that they will last a whole lot longer? They also carry an extensive collection of shoes for men and women, like Mary Janes, and in the back they have racks of clothing. Beautiful upscale and lofty store with mirrors all around so you can see your feet at every angle. It's serious business here. Oh, and yes I did see Docs for babies in pink. So cuuuute! I don't think it's necessary to review the Dr. Martens products. They've been around long enough and we are all familiar enough to know the great quality of the shoes. So this review is really just about the store itself and the staff. When we saw the sign go up that Dr. Martens was opening a store in our neighborhood, we were really excited. It feels like it took forever for them to finally open, and the moment we saw the sandwich board hit the sidewalk, we walked through the door. The space has a really nice flow, and is easy to walk through and peruse. There aren't any tight or awkward spots, it's brightly lit, and they've organized the displays so they are eye-catching without being overwhelming. Also, the staff is really friendly and knowledgeable. Every time I picked up something, the woman who was helping us had something about it to share, and she answered any question we could think of with ease. Either she really did her homework before they opened, or she's worked for Dr. Martens for a long time. It was right before the holidays, and we were saving our money for presents, so our only purchase that day was a brush and some leather polish for my husband's current pair of boots that were in need of some love. We were a little concerned that the cherry polish might cover up the marbling in the color of his red boots, but the saleswoman assured us it wouldn't, and she was right. They look good as new now. My man dragged me in for some yellow shoelaces for his new purple vegans, and I dragged him out with the brown/black Triumph 1914s. I bought two pairs of Dr.s in the past month--this Dr. store is that good. Being the universal shoe for the punk rocker, I was worried the store would have a pretentious, uppity vibe, as if you're getting your first tattoo in a preppy dress. What I found instead was extremely helpful shoe experts who wanted to find me just the right Dr. Marten for my normally ballet flat-feet. My recent Dr. Marten addiction has been indulged and enabled by Melissa and Brock. There isn't a shoe in that store they don't know everything about it, and they'll try all the ways to make sure the fit is right for your foot. I was really looking forward to getting the Jadon's as I have wanted them for a while. I finally went to the store to find several employees too busy having interpersonal conversations than to approach me. I approached the first I could find and was greeted with a too busy attitude. I figured it were the holidays and busy and remained patient. I inquired about the Jadons and asked what would be a good conversion to my size, they mentioned they were all sold out in my size which they said were 7. I was willing to compromise a size higher and maybe get an insole with a thick sock (I've really wanted these for a long time) and they refused to check to see if there were other sizes or even offered that as an option to compromise. (It was a gal with shaved sides of hair and stretched earlobes, petite frame). So I went online to Dollskill and overnighted them for 4.95 and have them. They are a size 8 instead of 7 and work just fine. I'm never going back to that store again and I shopped there for years. read more

After Carhartt told me to go across the street to this store for my needs, I was promptly greeted at Doc Marten's and the woman asked if I needed help finding anything. I told her I needed new work boots and she asked for detail about the work that I do and the level of performance I would need. She then showed me a few pairs and explained that two of them are comparable in function, but one fits wider than the other (even though they are the same size boot). I tried them both on and she was absolutely right, one fit me better than the other and I bought that pair. We also got laces for my husband. I've been here a couple times now. Once to buy their shoe polish, and once or twice to see if they have a specific pair of boots that I already have but desperately need to replace. I know it's just your average retail store, but I came here to write this review because the staff here are always so friendly and informative it's almost silly. My shoe polish purchase came with an impromptu tutorial from one of the saleswomen. She was super helpful and not at all judgmental of my dilapidated boots. (For the record, the show polish did little to salvage them, but I would still highly recommend it for regular leather maintenance.) All in all, they know their shit. Thumbs up. read more

There has never been a time where I walked into this store and not felt completely at home. Rachael, Jessica and the rest of the staff are always very helpful, kind and fun to shop with. They go out of their way to help you find the best pair (or in my case a dozen +) of Dr. Martens for you. Visited early Saturday AM. Service here is awesome! Salesperson greeted us warmly and really helped my daughter to uncover the most perfect docs to match her style. She did everything right...made her try on BOTH pairs of shoes (rare nowadays), walk the floor, provided a few style tips, and talked her thru proper care of the shoes (and gorgeous shoelaces that came with) - particularly given the weather here. If I could give them zero stars, I would. I have never been treated so rudely by retail staff in my life. I got the disctinct impression that they know their shoes will @#$! up your feet, and believe that the pain is a small price to pay for the honor of wearing Docs. Let me explain. My friend brought a pair of boots last week. Within two hours of putting them on, her feet had been cut to the point where she had several open bleeding cuts. We just tried to return them, and the staff could not have been more condescening, all the while saying they were trying to "help." They refused to give her a refund or a store credit, because she had worn the shoes for 2 hours. One associate then proceeded to instruct her to use a conditioning lotion on the boots, stuff them full of socks, put them in a sunny window, and let them sit overnight until they were wearable. WTF? That's a lot of work to put into a pair of shoes!! I could see if my friend had been told that the shoes would bite unless she conditioned them, but WE WERE NOT TOLD THAT. Another associate then told us very seriously that these are LEATHER shoes, and that's how leather shoes work. Really? I've been wearing shoes all my life, and have never been told that I have to build a relationship with them first before I wear them!!! Absoloute nonesense!! I got news for you, Doc Martens. Shoes shouldn't attack you. This isn't the 1800s, and shoes don't have to be stiff and uncomfortable. Also, If your shoes need conditioning, why not condition them BEFORE sale? That way, customers wouldn't have to pay extra for a conditioner, and then invest an evening making them wearble. I mean, it's not like your selling Louboutins!! When I said that we would have to contact a television consumer advocate for some results, one of the associates told us to call customer service, and then was just TOO put out that we asked for customer service contact information. So if you're going to buy from this store, beware. Customer service ends the moment they get your $$. read more
