With school starting next week, I searched for a local shirt printing shop instead of an online shirt printing business to avoid potential delays in shipping. Skokie Printing not only accepted my t-shirt printing request, they also graciously cleaned up the image I wanted without me asking or realizing it had to be. I've never ordered shirts to be printed until now, so I don't know much about it. I didn't realize the graphic I'd submitted would come out blurry or pixelated if it had been printed the way I'd sent it in; that's how clueless I am about shirt printing. I only realized later. And this is to no fault of the artist who designed the graphic for me. I must've done something unknowingly after I received the file. I'm thankful for Jonathan's initiative and professionalism. I had previously ordered shirts for my daughter's team from another company, but they came out dull, lacking color and detail--they looked unfinished. My daughter was heartbroken. Jonathan took the time to understand our needs and review our artwork. He assured me not only that he could reproduce our design as intended, but that he would involve me throughout the process. True to his word, he sent me photos for approval before printing the full batch. The quality was outstanding, and the fine details came through beautifully. I design a lot of t-shirts, just did one for a fundraiser next week, WCS will be doing the run; Every printer is a little different with how they want the artwork, what format, etc. In other words, it's never the same with any printer, and it's always time spent via emails & phone per project. And so... Judy was great, no messing around, turns out my file needed some fast tweaks with outlining fonts & embedded images - she got me through it fast & smooth. SO THUMBS UP JUDY! I've driven by the shop several times and wondered what it was--I saw the solidarity fist; bar? Union headquarters? I found out what it was when I ended up here to buy souvenirs when flying home to visit family. They have TONS of stuff, lots of t-shirts and sweatshirts, but also hats, glasses, mugs... even pacifiers with the Chicago flag on them (you know I bought one for the toddler). They have some standard Chicago flag stuff but they also put their spin on it with some flags made with animal paws, or maybe my favorite was the one with apples on it. I think that's what lured me in, actually; my best friend is a teacher and I wanted to get one to take to her. The guy that works there told me the story, that the teacher's union was going to strike and this was a design they had come up with and Rep CHI started printing them. I looooooove the way the Chicago flag is used as the basis of so many designs and this is one of my favorites. Prices are super reasonable and you'll find lots of great stuff here. If you have visitors, I'd definitely bring them here first to look for souvenirs. The parking is fairly easy, all street in this area of Jeff/Portage Park. And grab a few of their little buttons on the way out!
