I came in to look for new shoes and inserts for a trip that I leave for the following day. The staff was busy helping other customers and I was greeted by one person with a simple "hi". I waited and browsed the store for another 5 minutes looking at the shoes and inserts and apparel but none of the staff followed up to see if I needed assistance which I did need. It would have been nice to be acknowledged again and informed that they would help me eventually but that didn't happen. read more

What a great experience this weekend! It was fairly busy in the store yet they still found someone to give us a custom fitting even though we didn't have an appointment. The customer service rep told us so many interesting facts about our feet and running shoes. I really appreciated her knowledge. She never rushed us and answered all our questions. Between my husband and me, we bought two pairs of shoes, two pairs of shorts, and a new pair of headphones. It was $550 though that's affordable given two pairs of shoes that will now be more custom fit. Very content with my experience and purchases. We will definitely return. read more

Great customer service when i was selecting a shoe. They said the shoes would be there the next day. They gave me a call to pick up the shoes. When I arrived later that day they said that they noticed earlier in the day they ordered the wrong shoe. They did not call me to inform me of this and in turn I spent the time to go there and not receive the shoes. Better communication with delays would be great read more

I had an incredible experience at Fleet Feet! I decided to sign up for a 10k, and as someone with *very* little running experience, wanted to make sure I had a solid pair of running shoes to get me through the training and (of course!) the race. I stopped by here on a whim and ended up leaving with a new pair of kicks! The service is absolutely fantastic. They have a device that actually scans your feet to give you proper measurements when it comes to your feet length, width, and arch height. They also have a pressure mapping system that assess your path of motion as you walk to better narrow down what type of shoe would be best for you, and if any inserts are necessary. It was fun to learn about these things about my feet...stuff I've never even thought of! I will say they are limited when it comes to stock. They really only had a few shoes that would work for my feet following the assessment. Because of this, I didn't have a say on the color (unless I wanted to place an order and wait). Because I'm impatient, I went with the purple Brooks that they had in stock. The purple is actually a fun pop of color, as I'm typically someone who sticks with black or white tennis shoes. The employee helping me added a gel insert and I was sold. I never knew running shoes could be so comfortable! These shoes have changed the game for me! They've gotten me through miles and miles of runs, and are still in incredible shape, vs some other shoes that I feel like only last me a season before deteriorating. Yes, they were pricey, but the comfort and life of the shoe has made it more than worth it. I will absolutely be back to Fleet Feet when I'm in the market for my next pair of running shoes. read more

Was in the store today with my son, (03/05/23) and Morgan was really unprofessional and rude towards us. We usually shop at this store and never had this issue before. We arrived at store 30 minutes before closing time and she basically refused helping us. Saying that she couldn't even get us shoes to try on. After a few minutes another sales person came and offered help (Mike) and he did a great job. Very disappointed with Morgan, who made me wonder if something else drove her attitude on us, because she did respond differently to another customer who came in after us! Horrible experience yesterday (11/16) around 2:30pm. The female at the register needs be retrained in professionalism and competence. I bought an On Running weather shirt amongst other things at the Wells location and decided to return the one item due to it being too thin for the current weather. I paid in cash and was informed that I would only be able to get store credit. No type of cash back or refund. I asked why and she said because they want to make sure the money is given back to the person that bought it. I said my name is on the receipt and I could show identification. She said no because anyone could have bought the item on my account. How does that make sense? It is MY name on the receipt, I used MY account and I'm returning MY item. She then said I could call corporate. I asked her for the number and she said she didn't have it. So you're telling me to call corporate and you don't have their number? Upon pressing her, she said she would find the number but never actually gave it to me. I called the Wells store and the gentleman that answered was very nice and helpful and let me know that there is a policy if I paid in cash that they could send me a check for the refunded amount. Why couldn't the woman at the register let me know that was an option? I got off with the apologetic man on the phone who said he would call the store to see what was going in. She then let me know they could send a check. No apology was given. She slid my receipt back to me and didn't say one word. Lack of professionalism from this person at the Southport location is apparent. I will not be back. read more

Overall: Fantastic service and convenience of location make this Fleet Feet a runner's dream come true. The good: I've only been 3 times or so, but every time the service is fantastic. The employees have all been very friendly and helpful, even if they don't have something available at the store. One visit even went so far to find a site that had good deals that I could buy from separately because they didn't have the shoe I needed. Lots of group local runs and events too if you're interested. The not-so-good: As mentioned, their selection is limited given the size of the store. Twice I've left empty handed (but again, with directions for future) due to my specific shoe needs. The treadmill for testing, if I remember correcty, is pretty outdated. read more

Sadly in this city we are limited in choices for buying running shoes . Fleet Feet should capitalize on that but instead they have poorly trained staff who are unable to multitask. Clearly there is a problem when you have three people walk if the store out because the staff is clearly unable to help more than one person at a time. I should have learned my lesson last time I was there because they have no shoes is stock except purple or the rejected colors so the chances of walking out of there with shoes is zero. I had THE best experience at Fleet Feet Lakeview yesterday. I bought a new pair of shoes about 2 weeks ago and have been experiencing some pains in my right foot since. I haven't done anything to injure my foot so I was pretty certain it was related to the change in shoes. I went back to the store yesterday to see if I could maybe try on a new pair and found something that immediately gave me relief from the pain I was experiencing. I was able to exchange the shoes that I'd been using and received $33 back because the new shoes were on sale. The women who helped me was phenomenal and was super patient in trying to help me figure out a new pair of shoes that would work for me. I was SUPER impressed with this experience and would gladly recommend this store to anyone. I've been buying shoes from Fleet Feet for about 2 years now and will definitely be continuing. read more

A Fleet Feet store in Lakeview! Granted I love the Old Town location (which is bigger) but if you're in a pinch and need some local running experts this location will do. It's in the heart of Lakeview and right by the southport stop. All FF stores have weekly runs leaving from their stores on various nights. I attended Pint Night here. Great location because it's not too far from lake front (approximately 1.5 miles) and you can make an easy loop from the store to get in a quick 5K. The store employees are extremely knowledgeable about fitting you for shoes and clothing (they've definitely helped me in my search for the perfect sports bra. Haha). But this is the standard when it comes to Fleet Feet- they are the experts. Granted the store is too small to have a treadmill (like some of their other locations) so you can't take various shoes for a test run. This is the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars from me. read more

Currently beating myself up for not jumping on the Fleet Feet train *years* ago! Tim helped me find a wonderful pair of Adidas Pegasus shoes; he looked at the wear patterns on my old shoes I brought with me, determined my arch type, sized my feet, analyzed my gait on the in-house treadmill, and then brought out a few different selections for me to try on. I had the most pleasant time not only chatting with him and the other 2 women working there but learning from them as I shopped. Customer service = phenomenal. I also ended up purchasing some Superfeet insoles, as well as a few items in the sale section that was pointed out to me--score! Feeling very giddy for my next run so I can try out my duds. Many years ago they suggested a Nike running shoe that I loved and wore for years, but this time around, after they heard that I needed structure, cushioning, etc. they recommended Mizuno (and half a size larger than previously) and that worked out great! If you're looking for customer service, go someplace else. I stopped by this afternoon to purchase a pair of running shoes. I'm an avid runner and typically buy two to three shoes a year and spend close to $200 a shoe. So I know what I like and what works best for me. I went in today and found my usual shoe. I waited five minutes when an employee looked at me and said in a condescending manner, "we're doing 'fits' right now so we can't help you." When I told her I had a specific shoe selected, she informed me that she "could ask someone to pull it when she sent her down for someone else's shoe in a few minutes." I waited another five minutes. Meanwhile, two other employees stood around not helping anyone; instead, they chatted with one another. After waiting fifteen minutes, I walked out. I'd rather give my time and business to a place whose message isn't "you want to buy something, go f yourself." I've shopped at comparable running stores in DC that will fit their customers and give individualized attention whilst catering to customers who know what they need and want to make a purchase. The difference being is that those stores treated all customers equally and didn't have staff just hanging around doing nothing. read more

Really lovely experience. It had been a few years since I bought running shoes, and I really couldn't remember much of what I needed except that I tend to supinate. Joe was super helpful. He measured my feet with their fancy gadget and showed me the details of my feet measurements. Then he produced three sets of shoes to try. For some reason there aren't many running/fitness shoe stores downtown. With the closure of Universal Sole in the Park at Lakeshore East, and the well publicized Sports Authority closings, there is a definite vacuum in this market. Imagine my delight when I found out while doing some shopping along Southport Ave that Fleet Feet has a store right on this retail corridor. I came in knowing that I needed a pair of training shoes. Initially I was hesitant to go here, as this store seems to cater to runners. I tried on two pair of shoes- New Balance and Saucony - that the sales clerk picked out after taking into account my requirements. I decided to go with the New Balance shoes. The store didn't have my size in stock in my preferred color, so called the Old Town location to arrange a transfer. I have yet to pick up my new shoes in store and but am hopeful the process will be seamless. Also good to know: This store offers ON- Swiss performance running shoes. I have noticed a few people at my gym wearing these and am keen on the sleek look and the fact that they are not omnipresent (cough*Nike flyknits*cough). I am not an avid runner, but have heard good things about this shoe and it seems like very few brick and mortar locations (with the exception of Hanigs) carry this brand. It is refreshing that stores like Fleet Feet exist to provide personalized recommendations, as I would not feel comfortable making such a purchase based solely on a shoe's appearance, or flying blind and buying online. read more
