Stopped in here to return a pair of shoes and this was the closest DSW. Easy to find but parking can be tight and tricky if you come during busy mall hours. One person at register who was quick and efficient. I didn't check prices but did notice prices vary on the same items but different store. read more

Can't go wrong with DSW. Always have plenty of options, lots of sizes and various brands. Good place to come for the whole family.

I don't usually shop for shoes because I already feel like I have too many pairs. But for a special occasion I needed a very specific pair. Since I had visited this location a few times over the years, I decided to stop in. I'm so glad I did. Kevin was standing near the front and greeted me right away with a big smile. He was incredibly helpful in helping me find exactly the type of shoes I had in mind. What I really appreciated was how friendly and professional he was. There was absolutely no pressure, just genuine help. My time is very limited, so great service like that really makes a difference. I ended up purchasing the pair he recommended, and I'm very happy with them. Because of the wonderful service and the great comfort fit, I highly recommend coming to this location. Also, many people think DSW only sells shoes, but they actually offer so much more. Backpacks, purses, socks, bags, and other accessories. It's definitely worth taking a look around read more

The lady who was working the evening of Dec 12, 2025 was so rude. And the worst part is she was rude when I was last in the store maybe 1-2 years ago! Your website is offering 25% off and when I mentioned it to her she misrepresented your company and said I had to be a VIP member. I was holding my phone up so she could see the QR code related to the offer and she was still saying I had to sign up to be a VIP member. I asked her where did she see that and she says "You don't see that big ole circle that says VIP?" I corrected her to let her know that was related to a free shipping offer on the DSW website. Hesitantly, she rang up my shoes and asked to see the QR code so she could finally scan it. Sure enough the shoes were an extra 25% off. The transaction is now complete and she just slides the shoes across the counter towards me. I had to ask her for a bag. I don't know if that is your store's protocol but it is rude! A customer shouldn't have to ask for a bag when buying an item like a pair of shoes. I can't believe that rude woman still works there and even more, I can't believe she's still rude! I believe her name is Andi. Terrible terrible customer service. I am inclined to contact DSW's corporate office. read more

Exceptional customer service by Andi! I can't count the number of times she's greeted me by my name when I enter the store. Always super polite and efficient! read more

Anthony was amazing! I received outstanding assistance from him at DSW. Online transactions often leave me anxious about potential returns. Nevertheless, Anthony ensured a smooth experience. His professionalism, efficiency, and friendly nature were impressive. Thank you for exceptional service. read more

As soon as we walked in the lady at the register yelled at us to tell my son not to run. Then we got shoes and went to the register and yelled at us "move back!! the line starts back there!!" (there was only one register open so not sure what was that about). We paid and we got nothing from her, not a thank you, not have a nice day. Customer service sucks here, feels like 7-eleven. Never shopping here again read more

Very nice experience here. Lots of shoes to choose from and great prices. Many items on sale. There is also a clearance section with great deals at 30% off. At checkout, Hailey gave me excellent service and helped me understand the process of ordering online at DSW website for a special Asics shoe. I highly recommend shopping here. read more

Going to the store felt like we wasted our time. There is lots of stock from different brands, but prices were high and online could buy cheaper than what you find. Maybe we went wrong time of the year which happens to be Thanksgiving week. They don't do any price match, they only match with their own website which is a joke. Worst customer service, they mentioned us to take a picture and search online. Worst experience we had in a while, they are never interested in selling shoes. Literally we had to wait 10 minutes before we could talk to someone. I really don't know how and why businesses are run this way, read more

0 stars. Do not shop here. I received the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Both a floor employee and the manager were extremely rude to me. I used to love shopping at DSW but now I'm deleting my account. read more

The store was clean and well organized. Certain sizes, like women's Size 7 and 7 1/2, seemed in short supply for a number of styles. What is notably missing are benches to sit down to try on shoes. I saw a number of older women struggling. Management needs to fix that. read more

I needed shoes for a wedding. The woman who helped me could not have been nicer or more helpful. She found beautiful and comfortable shoes that I wore all night! She also suggested getting them conditioned to repel water or mud, which worked out as it had rained heavily before the wedding. read more

DSW is the only place for a big selection of the women shoes. also hard to get sizes available,so for all this reasons - we made it to La Jolla. The service was Ok, not a lot of help on the floor, and the line to check out was a long one (with only one assosiate to ring it out). Another thing - not a lot of places to seat to try, for an older clientele - it's a problem. As far as value - it's a wide range of prices, currently not a lot was in white or beige color shoes, which what my boss was looking for. Lastly, no bathroom available, another big issue for anybody, but it's very important for a senior citizens crew. read more

This DSW location has a decent selection and I can often find some good deals in their clearance section. I recently browsed with a friend in store and when I went online to look for Nikes, I found it really interesting that none of the in store stock was actually showing up online. The rest of the inventory is accurate online though. I recently ordered online for in store pickup and I was notified very quickly that my order was ready, however, when I actually went to pick it up, they had the shoes put aside, but didn't have my name on them or the order number. I had to describe the shoes and then they took my order number down. If I had done curbside pickup, I doubt they would have been able to find it. The person helping me was nice though (as is the rest of the staff). Returns are typically pretty easy here as well once you get to the front of the line. I will say that the line can be long as they usually just have one person working the register. Overall, this is a good location if you want to browse and try shoes on in person. I would recommend shopping online though. Make sure you sign up for their VIP program to get coupons. read more

Does no one answer the phone at this store? I've called twice and no one picks up. I need to know if they have some things in stock before I drive over there. read more

I understand if they have been robbed in the past but, the cashier made the experience very awkward and unsettling. She practically didn't want to do her job, her name was Andi and just lacks personal skills. read more

Andi a customer service employee at the La Jolla location made my shopping experience awful! As I'm a looking for shoes for my wife in the women's section all the other customers around me were greeted and asked if they needed assistance, except for me. As I was purchasing shoes by another employee Andi began to argue with me. This is extremely unprofessional and I hope disciplinary action is taken. Zero customer service from her! read more

Tonight at 5:00 PM a group of thieves attacked the DSW at UTC. The staff did everything in their power (within the law) to dismay the thieves. For the protection of the employees of DSW I would like to see corporate invest in armed security guards. All the employees were women. I would like DSW to present a compelling argument on why these women should not be protected. read more

This was the first and maybe only time I'll shop at dsw. I was looking for sneakers in a certain nude shade and google searches kept showing me options here. So I made the drive out. I liked the clean large well organized store. There were many options. I agree the store is dark and not enough benches. However I don't agree that the area is sketch. It's freaking La Jolla. Serious? I don't think they even have crime here lol. Customer service was top notch and I liked that they have a few other items besides shoes. Be prepared. They do not have bags and they do not care how many items you got haha. Only won't return because everything here is expensive and I always thought it was a discount shoe store before actually looking at the items read more

This location has a decent selection of shoes for the whole family. It is sometime very difficult to find shoes in smaller sizes. Purchasing online is always the best option and they deliver it to your home free. read more

They always suck me in with $10 coupons and constant promotions with free gifts with purchase. I make most of my purchases online. It's easier to find my sizes and more options. In can get tricky since sizes differ with brands. DSW just carries so many different brand options from designer such as my favorite Vince Camuto, Franco Sarto, Nina and Nike. They sell other items like purses and evening clutches. Some the of the prices are higher than other places. But if you can snag a $10 coupon and an additional coupon if you have an account it's worth it. I just bought new walking shoes for an upcoming trip with $20 off! Then I got an email with a coupon for another $10 off my next purchase. Double up your coupons for the best deal. I've purchased several shoes here. Sneakers, heels, boots and evening clutch. Easy return in store. read more

Never ever buy online and pick up at store. It takes longer for the store to get your item ready than to have it delivered directly to your address. Never have I ever shopped at a store that took forever to notify you your order has arrived. And if you don't buy enough to qualify for free shipping then just order another item to get free shipping and return the one you didn't want at the store at your convenience. At least that way you're not at the mercy of the store employees and waiting for a ready to pick up email from them. Ridiculous. Last time I'm buying anything here. read more

I do not recommend this store and had a bad experience here. because of the customer service from a manager named Diana who was very rude and unhelpful, she damaged a pair of shoes with her nails after I paid for them. she actually ripped off half of one of the soles of the shoes. completely ripping the sole off half of the right boot. I will be returning the damaged shoes that Diana decided to rip up with her fingernails, after she was rude to me, because I didn't sign up for their rewards system. Diana should be demoted, that's not how you treat customers, by ripping things and damaging things already paid for, sneaky, and won't shop here again. Will be back to return the damaged shoes thanks Diana for ruining those. read more

Great selection and service! Found exactly what we were seeking and it was so simple. Thank you!

I went to pick up some shoes I ordered online. I have had a very mentally challenging few weeks after losing a friend and just wanted to pick up my shoes to bring to my work trip. Needless to say when I got there, the girl behind the counter was incredibly rude. I asked if it would be possible to try a half size bigger than what I ordered just to be sure I'd get the right size. She made it seem like I was completely inconveniencing her and she went on to say she would have to cancel my order and I would have to re-purchase the shoe. All I wanted to do was be sure I got the right size. What if the first shoe ended up being the right fit - why would she cancel it when I haven't even tried on the bigger comparison? I was so shocked w her attitude I just said "Forget it" and left. She clearly hates her job and had the worst attitude. Her energy was so negative and made an incredible tough day worse. With the job market so tough why do people like her get to have jobs in customer service when they absolutely suck at it? Hire nicer people DSW!! There are NICER people who are unemployed right now! read more

Pros: decent selection Cons: in person service here at counter is mediocre. Not so friendly. Shipping if you buy online takes weeks! read more

Jamie was very helpful with my coupon situation. She has great customer service skills!

The cashier was wonderful and very helpful. Unfortunately, the person handling the online pick up station was not. She was rude, impatient, and sarcastic. There were only two customers in the store, including me. She was busy conversing with another employee and found me to be a disruption. No more online pick up for me. I won't order DSW products online again. I will shop there as long as I don't need to deal with online pick up. The selections were amazing and easy to spot because of the layout of the store. I love the reasonable prices. read more

sooo rude. jennifer at the front was extremely rude and unhelpful. do not go here. i found shoes but their selection is not wide.

The weekend manager is very rude and doesn't want to do her job. She told me she was too busy to help me find a shoe and then complained that I had taken too many shoes off the shelf. Do yourself a favor and go to a different branch. read more

Went there to try on a shoe that I saw online. I didn't like the shoe....I wasn't impressed by the shoe selection. They do have a bunch of shoes but I didn't see anything that I personally liked. The store is laid out so that looking is easy....the store is kept clean and organized. Plenty of parking. read more

I was able to find 4 pairs of shoes of different styles that I loved. I only left with two. (Pats self on back for self-control.) Pros: ANDI. She was the fun, attentive customer-first cashier. Shoes. Why else are you here?! The variety is good, you have to be willing to look. (This is specific to women's shoes, I have rarely found anything great for men.) Price points are reasonable, especially in the clearance selection. Cons: Why is this store so dark?! Where are the benches? Where are the "peds" so I can try on sandals in a sanitary manner? Location seems sketch. We left at 7 pm and the parking lot was empty. It's not safe for women to shop alone. No bags to carry your loot. (What if I had bought all 4 pairs of shoes? And I had to carry all of those boxes out to the empty sketchy parking lot?) read more

A very nice rep from the mission valley store reserved a pair of green platform Adidas VL court at the La Jolla location and when I got there the shoes were dirty and used. I informed the Rep at the front and she asked if I was taking them I said no because they are dirty and she just said ok. That's a scam you're running DSW, trying to sell full price used shoes. read more

Probably the worst dsw in the area... who had the bright idea of locking the back door? Well parking is a mess with plenty wasted in the back, and what about fire department regulations? It is a disaster waiting to happen. Employees are overly annoying, I had my service dog with me, probably had 3 employees approach and disturb the dog and me, even when I walked away, one of them raised her voice to try and get my attention, don't you guys realize maybe some of us just want to browse in peace and if I have questions I will ask? Totally disorganized with the way they have shoes too, gave me a headache, heading to mission valley store better. read more

It had been so long since I have been to DSW and I did not expect to find so many pairs of shoes that I love!! The pair that I purchased were black pumps that are actually the DSW Brand (Kelly & Katy). It's a little deceiving in my option, I think they should say something or have some logo or something but either way, they were very comfy. There were things that happened that would make me question coming back: It was pretty warm in the store. I was there about an hour before closing so they may have turned off the air knowing they would be closing up soon but I was literally sweating in there. The price of my sister's shoes rang up higher at the register than what we saw on the sign. We told her the big sign had a different price and for a minute the girl pushed back and then sort of scoffed because she had to walk over there to look at the sign as if it was an inconvenience. My sister was correct and they gave her the price listed but were sure to tell us that was the wrong price. They were trying to close up, so it seemed to me that the lady felt inconvenienced by having to leave the station or ring you up. It was a little uncomfortable for us but I am glad my sister stuck to her guns and made her go verify. She lightened up towards us at the end of the transaction. As we were leaving with my sister's purchase, I decided to run back and get the pumps. It was just minutes after she helped my sister. There was no one else in line, and she had a big pile of stuff behind the counter that she was working on (I assume for close prep). She let me stand there for 2-3 minutes without any acknowledgment at all, her eyes were just down at what she was working on. Then she very slowly came to the register to check me out still not looking me in the eye. I tried to be extra pleasant since she seemed so miserable and she did light up a little from our bubbly energy. I think stores are very short staffed and those who are working are overburdened with more work than they are used to. Either way, it just wasn't a good shopping experience for me overall. read more

Alex helped me find boots for an upcoming Europe trip for my daughter who is so difficult to shop for! Even though DSW in La Jolla village is super far away from us, it was worth it since Alex made the experience of shoe shopping super smooth and stress free! read more

DSW has a large selection of men's shoes, and some accessories like belts and socks. They carry plenty of sizes and widths, and the prices are great. If you join their club you get discounts and coupons, special offers. They also have a large selection for the ladies. The staff is usually very friendly and helpful, and they have a program where if you can't find your size, they will find it and ship it to you. The only bummer about this location is getting into and out of this mall and the parking lot. It can be rather crowded and busy sometimes. Wish they had a location closer to North County San Diego. read more
