This place is staffed by young people so it's understandable that the service may not be up to par. But, the service here is so poor, management should really consider hiring some adults and/or more experienced staff. Sales associates stand around talking while customers are waiting to request a shoe size and there were a few customers visibly hitting on some of the sales staff with no indication that this behavior is not tolerated or acceptable. We witnessesed overt flirting and overheard unprofessional dialogue taking place between one customer and a sales associate. Came in here to buy a pair of black old skools, service was awful. The employee named Noland was probably the worst associate I've ever come into contact with. He was arrogant from the moment I walked in, and acted like he didn't want to help me. Not only was his personality insufferable, his sales tactics were as well, when he brought out the pair I planned on purchasing, he brought me two other pairs for me to try on which is standard at Vans, but he wouldn't stop trying to sell me the other two pairs, and when I told him that I wasn't interested, he kept trying to say that the shoes that he was trying to recommend were better, and that I should just listen to him instead, it got very old. After this experience I'd probably never go back, someone needs to tell Noland to change his attitude. read more

my partner is transmasc and asked for a size 7.5 in men's, and while the first employee radio'd in that size, the second employee looked at my partner and said "size 9?" instead of just giving what was asked from his coworker, he decided to misgender my partner. this is the first time they were brave enough to ask for a men's size over a women's, so i want to thank that employee for ruining that experience. instead of judging based on someone's appearance, maybe take a second with compassion and use the size that the customer is asking for. it takes a toll on trans people who may be transitioning or don't pass enough for you and is a toxic mentality to have when dealing with diverse customers. read more

$30 for a pair of Darth Vader kicks? SWEET! No Jedi mind trick here! After seeing intrepid Yelper Chun P.'s review, I had to get me a pair for myself. The staff are certainly youthful, but they are very helpful - when I told them my shoe size range, they were able to find me two pairs within them. Although they did try to upsell me on some more items, I did end up making a donation for autism research and got a free bag in the process. Definitely coming back soon to get the other Star Wars related slip-ons! (At that price, why not?). And yes, they are comfortable! read more

The customer service in this location is through the roof!!! I went on a very busy day (probably over the weekend). I was only browsing for a minute before I had someone ask if I needed help. Amber was amazing and a great help. She measured my foot because I couldn't remember my size in Vans. I ended up buying multiple shoes for myself and my family. You know when you go in a store and it's hard to find help?! You won't have that issue here. The staff helps multiple people at the same time and everyone is so kind. We swung by the store today for a gift card. An associate informed us of some great sales so we decided to start looking for a couple things. Along the way we were helped by Nolan and by Garrett. Even though some things that we had asked for were not in stock, both of them put in the time to suggest relevant and worthwhile alternatives. Beyond that, they were able to make us feel valued and appreciated...all while juggling multiple clients at the same time. My hat is off to both of them because they quite literally made it one of the most enjoyable shopping experiences we've ever had. On top of that, we ended up spending four times as much as we had intended when we walked in, but between the customer service and the crazy deals going on, I am so happy with the experience, and I'm going out of the way to give both of them a shout out. PROS and CONS: Picked up a few pairs of shoes for our kiddies and the customer service was exceptional! We purchased four slip-ons (2 of each kiddie) and I purchased a checkered re-useable bag... Love it so much, I need to go back and pick up a few more! Although $3 for a re-usable bag is pricey the checkers got me! The selection on hand was pretty low for my Son who is still a youth 3. Everything he liked was not available so that was a bummer. This is the reason for 4 Stars, oppose to 5 Stars! A shoe store should always have sizes available and if not, they should provide online ordering. If they provide online ordering, it wasn't offered. Also, I haven't gone to a shoe store were they don't have a sale on socks. Socks are always a must grab when buying new shoes. I walked into Vans a few days ago when I was at the mall just to browse and was immediately greeted by the staff. So I try to give credit where credit is due and I have to say that Bryan, I believe his name was, was by far one of the friendliest and most pleasant people I've been around in a long time. I am a loyal customer of Vans - I love their designs and I believe in the brand itself. This review is more for the staff at this location rather than the brand itself. I visit this store pretty often because they are known to have new releases and collaborations more than other stores. Every time I come here it is a hit or miss in terms of customer service. I came one time and the store manager was absolutely amazing she was helpful and so friendly. More times - when I visit this store I am often met with associates that do not greet their customers or acknowledge people outside of the shoe area. (They also sell apparel.) On my most recent visit, it was busier than usual - totally understandable that all associates are working to be attentive to the customers - however, I stood in the shoe section along with 2 other people and were not greeted, spoken to, or acknowledged AT ALL. I saw several associates gathered near the middle display talking among each other. I was going to interrupt them so I could inquire about a shoe - but I thought it would be better to just take my business elsewhere. read more

They lost my purchase due to poor customer service. I was looking for someone to help me get a size and had no one around the shoe section. All the employees, but one were hovering check out. Finally, got some help. I had a pair of ochre checkered slip ons on my feet as a sale associate handed me a pair of ochre old skools. He then proceeded to ask me if I was going to buy the checkered slip ons, which I replied, "I'm not sure still decided". That's when he said "okay please be careful with them because if you don't decide to buy them, I do need to sell them". Hmm I would understand if he said that because I was stomping or scuffing the shoes... but I wasn't. I was standing in one spot and maybe walked a couple feet to make sure they fit right. Upon arrival each staff member were attentive but most my interaction was with Mandi and Adri. I've been to other Vans stores at local malls, and they definitely do not stand at the same level of professionalism and friendliness as the workers at this store. Those who worked the afternoon shift today definitely deserve a raise! They were so attentive and quick without being overwhelming nor hovering. There's an employee there who I overheard was saying she's still in high school-- You are probably the best customer service I've ever received in my life from any store. She made sure I got the shoes I wanted to try on and even helped me pick one out. Also, she communicated well with her other employees; letting them know whenever she was going in the back to get a pair for a customer. I came in to buy a pair shoes today and couldn't be more upset with my experience. After asking for help and being ignored TWICE I finally got help. It took me about 25 minutes of waiting to finally get my pair. What should have been a ten minute stop turned into 30-35 minutes. The cashier was rude and the workers seemed to be so lost. Unbelievably bad leadership and customer service for something so small it should have never been a problem. I purchased a $70 pair of vans at a different location plus three other pairs while on vacation. Upon lacing them up I noticed one of the shoe strings was all messed up in one area and it wouldn't fit through the whole of the shoe. I brought them into this location and asked for a shoelace. All the while with two more pairs of shoes and other products in hand to purchase. They checked and said they didn't have any more "extra" shoe laces. I asked them what else they could do. They said I could BUY a new pair of shoe laces!!! Are you serious? I asked if I might make a recommendation. They said yes. I said could you get and open a pair of shoe laces and swap one out for me. I didn't think this was an unreasonable request. They said there was nothing they could do. I put down my potential purchase and walked out. I'll contact another store or corporate if I have to. I realize we are talking about a $4 pair of shoe strings that either of us could pay for. However it's the principle. The sales associate at this store told me that the shoes he was selling me were the exact same model, same type, same size as the exact ones I had on. This didn't turn out to be the case. I wore them for a total of 4 days, each day trying to convince myself that the reason why they were way too small was because I just had to "break them in." However, after 4 days it was obvious that this was not the issue - the reality was that the sales associate had lied to me for the sake of making a quick sale, and Vans had totally changed the sizing for the Trujillo model within the last year. When I went back to the store to try and exchange them, I was condescendingly told that "that's not the way it works" and the shoes couldn't be taken back anymore since they were "worn." These shoes are still in mint condition. They had a bit of gunk attached to the very bottom which could have easily been scraped off. I think I'll pass on getting lied to and berated next time around, and just hit up the Foot Locker next door. read more
