For a DSW, not bad at all Came to browse and with low expectations, but ended up finding something that I purchased. The selection is standard. It can and does change at times. Everything was stocked well and of course a few things that I was looking at had none of my size, but I found a nice pair of something I liked in my size, so there was a little surprise. Had no interaction with floor staff, but the cashier was friendly. They share the space with several other businesses in this strip mall. The parking lot is a little strangely designed, but there is ample enough parking. All in all, it's a DSW - you've been to one, you've been to basically all of them. I've come here several times. I've learned to order online instead. There's never anyone on the floor to help you, and if you do find someone they automatically tell you no they don't have it. I'm a petite individual and small sizes for some reason seem to never be in stock no matter the shoe or the brand. It drives me insane. But online they exist!!! Prices aren't too bad for the quality of shoes; of course depending on the brands you buy. And if your lucky and get coupons then you'll be better off (just look at the fine print). read more

I like DSW and I went into the DSW in Danbury Ct location a few times and almost always have an issue with that store. On my 9/21/24 visit, I had asked to speak to the manager and was informed she wasn't available. Very frustrating. I had purchased $239 in shoes and as I was leaving the store, I saw a promotion sign for a small weekender bag if you spend over $89. I went back in the store and s/w a cashier if they had any in stock. She said yes. I asked why she didn't give me one or even ask if I wanted one as I purchased over $89 and she replied, " it's up to you to tell us!". I was shocked at her response. I asked her again, nicely of course, for a weekender bag and showed her my recent so she knew I was not lying. She then said, " go back on the line with the shoes, return them and I will ring them back up". The line was now at least 10 people deep and my husband went back to the car with the shoes. This is when I requested a manager, to no avail. Upon writing this review, I noticed this location doesn't have a very good rating. I guess I am not the only one who has experienced horrific customer service. But I will not go in ever again. PS: I did email customer service and by the time they returned my email and requested I call them as they were offering to ship me a weekender @ no charge, they were all gone. I don't know what happened to this store in the last few years. I used to shop here consistently and got great deals. Recently, I placed an order online and did in-store pickup. When the cashier handed me the shoes, they were in a box that looked like it had gotten run over by a big rig. Anyway, I tried on the shoes in the store and they were too big. I asked if I could exchange for a smaller size. The cashier told me yes, but they didn't have a smaller size in stock, so they would order it and ship it to my house. Great! She then told me that I would need to pay for the replacement pair, and that my refund for the original order would take about a week. I've never really done a return that way before - typically, they would just exchange as one transaction. But, I figured it was fine. When I got the new pair shipped to me house, the entire shoebox was cut up like someone was trying to break it down with a blade. I called, and they said that something must have happened with the carrier. The thing is, the shipping container was completely fine, there was clearly just an issue with the box that the item came in. I ended up returning the replacement pair as the fit was just not right. But I never got a refund for the original order! I had to call and speak with a supervisor, who told me that when they cancel an order, they just credit it back right away, so you don't receive a refund. I told them that wasn't clear at all from the way they explained it to me in the store. All in all, I've never had this much confusion with DSW before, in any location. I understand that when you shop here, you aren't shopping at Barneys, but it would be nice if your new shoes didn't come in a box that looked like it came from someone's tag sale... read more

Do no do curbside pick for this company! They stop at 6 and they are rude! Miranda attitude is absolutely unacceptable, my order was 2-3 hours later I pull up at 6:16 and call she tells me she is the manager and will not bring the order out she understaffed. I said to her, it's not my fault, I can't and will not go inside she needs to bring my order out! I also said how long am I going to wait 2-3 hours delayed like my order she said maybe... I replied seriously don't maybe me. Your tone is ridiculous. I also said I will YELP review your store, said replied IM SURE YOU WILL. Although the turn around time was quick to get someone out. I Went to return boots today and the assistant manager repeatedly cut me off while I was talking when I tried to return the boots. He handled me as though I was some pest of a customer. He had a bad attitude towards me when I tried to explain and when I gave him that feedback he tried to use the "I've been in the company for three years" line. As a customer since the mid 2000's the FEEDBACK is all I have after my money is taken from me. I told him they won't make it through the holidays with any happy customers if they deal with other return customer as he had disgracefully dealt and escalated his tone and approach with me. He refused to let me return the shoes at the store which is at his discretion, albite unreasonable, but the DSW warehouse can make that ultimate professional decision themselves as I am mailing the warehouse the return. The assistant manager dramatically and loudly accused me of "belittling" him when I provided him with the feedback already stated above. It's a VERY scary experience as a powerless customer when the feedback I provide as a customer is distorted and I am treated with such hostility, talked over and interrupted instead of being provided CUSTOMER SERVICE and basic respectable-professional responses!! A grand demonstration of poor professional integrity, and lack of management skills as he was overpowering and invalidating my experience with the number of years he's worked for the company....majorly unprofessional for an assistant manager! Distorting the feedback I provide as customer minimizes and invalidates the customer experience....this is not customer service and it does not make you any more right! It demonstrates a lack of appreciation for your business approach! He refused to process a return of the shoes because he said the bottoms look worn---check out the fresh ridges and the fact that they are unworn boots below! I did try them on at home on my tile floors. I'm not even concerned about the shoes as much as his approach was so short tempered and hostile. I reported the incident to customer service while still sitting in the parking lot as it was quite distressing. What is really sad and unfortunate is that he is setting a very poor example to the other staff working behind the desk! I empathize that the holiday season can be stressful but trying to distort the feedback to make the customer look bad is grossly negligent. read more

VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I will never shop at DSW again. I bought a $100 gift card which was accidentally thrown away in the Christmas wrapping garbage. I had given the receipt and the gift card to the person in case there was a problem using the card. The sale showed up on my credit card statement but because I did not have a VIP account with DSW they would not replace the card stating they have no record of the gift cards sold. Really????
