I Went to return boots today and the assistant manager repeatedly cut me off while I was talking when I tried to return the boots. He handled me as though I was some pest of a customer. He had a bad attitude towards me when I tried to explain and when I gave him that feedback he tried to use the "I've been in the company for three years" line. As a customer since the mid 2000's the FEEDBACK is all I have after my money is taken from me. I told him they won't make it through the holidays with any happy customers if they deal with other return customer as he had disgracefully dealt and escalated his tone and approach with me. He refused to let me return the shoes at the store which is at his discretion, albite unreasonable, but the DSW warehouse can make that ultimate professional decision themselves as I am mailing the warehouse the return. The assistant manager dramatically and loudly accused me of "belittling" him when I provided him with the feedback already stated above. It's a VERY scary experience as a powerless customer when the feedback I provide as a customer is distorted and I am treated with such hostility, talked over and interrupted instead of being provided CUSTOMER SERVICE and basic respectable-professional responses!! A grand demonstration of poor professional integrity, and lack of management skills as he was overpowering and invalidating my experience with the number of years he's worked for the company....majorly unprofessional for an assistant manager! Distorting the feedback I provide as customer minimizes and invalidates the customer experience....this is not customer service and it does not make you any more right! It demonstrates a lack of appreciation for your business approach! He refused to process a return of the shoes because he said the bottoms look worn---check out the fresh ridges and the fact that they are unworn boots below! I did try them on at home on my tile floors. I'm not even concerned about the shoes as much as his approach was so short tempered and hostile. I reported the incident to customer service while still sitting in the parking lot as it was quite distressing. What is really sad and unfortunate is that he is setting a very poor example to the other staff working behind the desk! I empathize that the holiday season can be stressful but trying to distort the feedback to make the customer look bad is grossly negligent.

Love this store. Was in last Thursday night, all the the girls are so friendly! Cleanest DSW I've been in! Great selection in shoes.

Staying mainly on the west side of town, I usually go to the Kohl's in Brewster if I have some of…read morethat sweet, sweet Kohl's cash burning a hole in my pocket. But since I needed to make a Costco run (and I'd mentally prepared myself for it) I decided to visit the east side Kohl's off of Federal Road. After this one-time experience , I think I'll stick with the one in Brewster. The outside of the store is kind of messy and looks like it's not maintained....it could literally be abandoned and you wouldn't tell the difference. You walk in and it's a standard Kohl's, only more tired and flatter. I know that may be hard to picture but when you go to the Brewster Kohl's and walk in, there's always a bright, seasonal display that is very welcoming and puts you in the mood to shop. Here, it was just a mess of carts haphazardly sitting around in the entry and some luggage that I wasn't sure was on display or was just waiting to be stocked. The selection was okay and they had stock, but there were a few areas that it looked like stocking had started but then been abandoned halfway through. Like boxes and carts and ladders just sitting in aisles and between racks. Not a big deal and maybe they're gearing up for back to school but just a little messy. What was the least appealing thing about this place is how long it takes to check out. We were the second people in line and just wanted to purchase one pair of swim trunks. It took a long time and there were no self service options such as they have at Brewster. Some dude had a complex return apparently so it took three cashiers several minutes to resolve that while the line kept growing. Then when we got to the cashier, he seemed really burnt out, which I can get and I empathize with. So a self-service option would have been quicker and a better experience. Anyway, the key takeaway from this review is that if you're in the greater Danbury metro area, take a ride on 84 West to Brewster and check out the Kohl's near the Southeast train station.

I went to this location right before Christmas. We were buying items off of the wedding registry to…read moregive as Christmas presents. This is probably where the issues began. We knew exactly which items we wanted so we picked them up and then went to print out the registry. I went to use the registry kiosk closest to the kitchen items. And to my dismay it was out of printer paper. An employee, Phyllis, noticed that we were aggravated and came over. We explained that the kiosk was out of paper. Phyllis was WONDERFUL. Although she did not know how to change the paper she set out to find someone who did. The most infuriating thing is that she went to about 7 employees and NONE of them knew. I wish kohls would train more than just one employee to know basic job duties. In addition, David was also wonderful. We purchased a pot and pan set that was too heavy for my mother or I to carry and he brought it up to the registers for us. I highly suggest the store manager should train ALL employees to know how to simply scan items off the registry. This is not the only kohls were I have experienced that no one knows how to do that. I am not a kohls employee but having to listen to a manager explain it to a customer; I can now walk all the employees through it and that is unacceptable.
