Lillian, Alabama. Great selection, and very helpful personnel. We were able to get in and get a really nice variety of cookies and turnovers. I missed out on the apple versions, but the lemon was fantastic. FYI, Google's review system is listing this place as "permanently closed," but this is NOT the case. They're very much open, so drop by for a visit!

Address needs to be updated: 12999 6th Street Downtown Lillian AL 36549 When I called to let the lady know that the address I had place in my GPS brought me to a dollar general she sighed as if asking her was an inconvenience. I should've known right then and there that this place would be somewhat of a flop. The same young lady who answered the phone happen to be the server/cashier. Even after knowing that I've never been in before, she still rushed my order even when no one else was in the building except me. Walking into the building the place smelt amazing, the butterscotch oatmeal cookie were great. I've had better Kolaches, it definitely was not fresh. (If you're looking for amazing Kolaches try Lickin good donuts in Pensacola!) It's worth the drive! -- brownie cheesecake was good, Over all, I would've given this place a 3 star but it was hard to not feel rushed and I panicked and grabbed whatever I could so that the girl wouldn't feel annoyed or inconvenienced.

Inside there's a place to eat it's so cute and relaxing.

The pictures are worth a 1000 words it's very clean the portions are nice and the price is even better. I don't mind the drive from Navarre to Lillian AL to get great tasting baked goods. Oh they even bake custom cakes, flourless, vegan.

D's bakery is extremely dysfunctional if you do a custom order. They consistently give you a wrong pickup date or time. So you either have to come back an hour later or you are met with locked doors and not able to get through to them on the phone. Very poor communication and the owner will blame you if you object to any unprofessionalism. The owner is very erratic and aggressive as well. I had to wait 30 minutes in the parking lot because the doors were locked when I went to the bakery (at the instructed time) to pickup a cake for my 2 year old daughters birthday. After exhausting all attempts to contact the owner, I had to just knock on the doors for several minutes before finally being acknowledged. I made the mistake of saying to D (after she blamed me for the miscommunication) that I will not be doing anymore business with her due to the poor customer service. The next day she then sent me unsolicited abusive and insulting private messages on Facebook and even got her friend to message me. Be cautious and think twice before doing business with this bakery.

Love this little bakery. I wish I had taken inside pics ..I will the next time..it has a darling tearoom, you can enjoy coffee and tea along with a wonderful pastry...fresh bread, huge cookies, cannolis, fudge etc..we got a cinnamon roll that is huge and heavy, a brownie , cookies to take home..I cant wait to go back and try more things.. the address on Yelp is wrong but u can see the correct one on the photo I took..

When I confronted her about my wedding cake that was messed up, she personally attacked me and my wife. Calling someone greedy and broke just because they expect you to right your wrongs doesn't make them greedy or broke. Keeps deleting reviews I make on Facebook and blocked me. Reported to the BBB.

    Horrible!!! Beware!!

DO NOT order a wedding cake from her!! She RUINED our wedding day! Our ONE day! We were so embarrassed that we tried to hide the cake! It was like a Pinterest fail to say the least. It was a disaster. She used buttercream on our cake instead of fondant like we asked. Buttercream on a wedding cake?! And that was just the beginning. There was so much more wrong with the cake. It was crooked, it was missing things, there was ribbon in it when we cut it! There were cake boards showing, 3 of them! It was dry and uneven! We asked for a refund and she said she would refund us by making us another cake!!! Are you kidding me??? Our wedding day is over!! And I wouldn't take another cake from her if my life depended on it! If you don't want your special day ruined don't trust her. She called me broke and said I obviously need money. All because I asked for a refund for this disaster!

Definitely new since I left home. I was interested. Ambiance was wonderful. A good amount of seating with each sitting spot feelings mildly secluded, which is nice. No one wants their coffee shop gossip being overheard. And when you walk in, you're first greeted with that classic glass case of available pastries and goodies. It was hard to not just order one of each item. Service was nice. It was counter service, and they bring your order right to your table. Can't ask for better service than that. Nice folks, good small talk. And the food, it was delightful. We got a couple of fancy coffee drinks, which were well-flavored, not too sweet, and the iced one was presented in a mason jar. Classic. We also shared like four food items. The pull-apart monkey bread was sweet and dense and delicious. Don't order this if you're alone. You'll need help to finish it. Got a creme filled pull pastry thing. That was nice. Flakes for days. This was no rough puff. For the chocolate croissant, also known as a pain au chocolat. Again, very flakey, very buttery, the perfect touch of sweet chocolate. And a savory, massive scone. Bacon and chives, I think. Also very good. Crumbly. Overall, I was very surprised. There certainly wasn't anywhere like this in Pensacola when I lived here. This place is a quality bakery that could easily be found in a medium-sized city. I was so pleased and will definitely come back.

Cons: No real cons. I didn't have enough stomach space to try everything I wanted. Lol. Tips: The chocolate croissant and the creme filled thing we got were delicious. The scone was also good, but maybe less good than other things we left on the table. Need to come back here!

I am going to assume that you do not know about Local Thyme. It has just opened. The baker, Caleb puts a list of the items he wants to make for the week online and you place your order. He then will drop it off at Aragon Wine Market on Thursday nights when they have their free wine tastings. This went super smoothly the first time but not so much the last time. It appears that the person who was helping Caleb forgot to bring our order. My wife reached out to Caleb at around 6pm. He was at Aragon and said to our surprise that he would be right out to the house with our order. W-W-W what? Yep! Caleb drove the 20 minutes to our house, there is a toll, just to be sure that we got our order! Wow! Old school service, and the bread was fantastic too? Crazy........ So I get to work this morning and I am listening to one of my coworkers talk about this business she is trying to work with who is giving her the run around and not getting back to her. She complains that it is a brand new company and they are not trying very hard. I was happy to tell her about Local Thyme and what Caleb did for us last night. She immediately wanted to know the name of his business. I happily gave it to her. If you are sitting around thinking to yourself that you need something in your life and everything is blah and gray, I have just the thing to make your life bright and shiny again! It's sourdough cookies! Holy crap!!!!!!!! Those things will absolutely change your life. Just saying. Try them, you are welcome! Hell, its all delicious! I have a croque monsieur to devour for lunch today! I am so excited! Ok........Yes, you are right. I live to eat!

They have multiple flavors of cakes, cupcakes and cookies. We decided on a classic vanilla "leftover" cake that was one day past Halloween. The sprinkles didn't scream Halloween, so it was perfect for my grandmas 90th birthday because she LOVES sprinkles! It was 50% off and man this cake tasted like a $100 cake! You can tell this was made with Fresh and real ingredients! The icing was my FAVORITE! It had a smooth bite to it! And the cake, Y'all it was sooo moist! It was a large round 2 layer cake. We had tons of leftovers for 6 people. Served with birthday cake ice cream and my grandmother LOVED it! I can't wait to go back and try their Carmel and strawberry flavors! 10/10! Supper local!

This small shop is located in a large shopping center next to a grocery store I was unfamiliar with (Rouse's, if I remember correctly). Thankfully, that makes parking pretty easy. The inside is simple but cute, and very clean. The one girl working that day sort of looked at me like I'd grown three heads when I came in and didn't offer any assistance, but warmed up when I chatted her up while checking out. She was quite nice once we spoke to each other but the lack of hello or can I help you after looking right at me in an otherwise-empty shop was kinda weird. I selected two cake slices: a caramel cake slice and an oreo chocolate cake slice. I was somewhat tempted by the German chocolate cake but couldn't discern any coconut or pecan pieces in the frosting. Maybe it was a more literal /german/ chocolate cake, rather than the chocolate cake with pecan and coconut frosting named after Sam German? I usually assume the latter in average US bakeries but who can say. The lady at the register informed me the cake slices were BOGO that day, so the price was right! Though I can't help but wonder if the fact they were BOGO reflected some kind of decline in quality or an older cake slice, because sadly I didn't really enjoy either cake. I will admit I delayed a day or two between buying my slices and sharing them with my husband, so perhaps that contributed to the deterioration of it. At any rate, the Oreo chocolate cake was very dry. The icing had kind of separated from the cake and had crystallized into a crunchy, saccharine strip. My husband wouldn't even finish his half of the piece. The caramel cake was better, a tiny bit more moist with slightly less "crackly" icing. Still not my favorite -- a little on the dense side, and still fairly dry. Again, perhaps this experience was partially on me for delaying a day or so in eating my treats, but I dunno. Perhaps cupcakes are the way to go instead? I'm not sure. I'm sad I didn't have a super positive experience, but I like the concept of this business and I wish them success!
