We love this family owned & operated bakery. The part that makes Dauphin Island so unique compared to other beach towns is the down home feel. Every business is individually owned, no chains on DI. Next time you're on the island, be sure to go by and try some of the treats made here. My family loves jumping on a bike and riding the short distance to the bakery. Food is always spot on & the owner is kind! read more

Lighthouse Bakery is a required stop when on the island. Cream-cheese danishes were so soft, creamy, and fresh! Chocolate-hazelnut turnover was flavorful and right balance of sweet and pastry. The croissants were so fresh that they were still warm. They were flaky and delicious. The chocolate croissant has a light layer of chocolate on that delicious croissant. The cinnamon rolls have a wonderful flavor but were slightly dry. read more

Lighthouse Bakery - Menu May 2026 - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Dauphin Island, Alabama

Lighthouse Bakery - Dauphin Island, AL This place is absolutely worth the early wake-up! We tried the chocolate croissant, cinnamon roll, and pecan cinnamon roll -- all three were incredible. Flaky, fresh, and perfectly sweet without being over the top. We arrived right at opening (6:30 a.m.) and walked right in, but by 9:30 there were about 30 people in line -- so definitely come early if you can. The staff was friendly, polite, and super efficient, even with the growing crowd. There's also a little "day-old" discounted section near the door, which is a great find if you want to grab a few extra treats to take home. Overall, a must-stop on Dauphin Island -- cozy, delicious, and full of charm. read more

Our go to when going to Dalphin Island. Freshly baked pastries and HUGE sandwiches. Cinnamon roll smell hits you the minute you walk in. Yeast... cinnamon and sugar!!! The sandwiches can be ordered at any time. We usually take them to go for our lunch. They are large and you pick exactly what you want on it. They serve hot breakfast so. Sundays only. read more

This was a busy, quaint local bakery with friendly staff. We tried two different turnovers, bacon wraps and coffee-all tasty. We wanted to stop back by to try the cinnamon rolls, but didn't make it before we left town. Hope to be back! read more

Ordered a two-tier beach themed seashell cake. Left with a one-tier cake with a random heart scratched in the top. I've never seen a bakery scrape into the icing to decorate so this was definitely a confusing experience especially since we never requested any hearts. The ratio of cake to buttercream was off. Way too much icing that was super thick and we didn't like the flavor. We ended up eating the cake part from one slice and throwing away the rest. Our local friends didn't even want it. I would just stick to the pastries next time and drive off the island to a professional baker like we have in years past. read more

I walked in the door at 0602 and there were a few people in line already, always a good sign. I ordered the regular cinnamon roll, pecan roll, blueberry cream cheese danish and the bacon wraps. Everything was amazing, you have to make the stop at least once!!! read more

We heard about Lighthouse Bakery on the island and we stopped off finally this am as we were leaving! We had cinnamon rolls, pigs in a blanket, cookies, iced chai! It was all delicious and I wanted more of everything! The most wonderful thing happened though- I left my purse there. THAT is not wonderful and we were almost to Montgomery when I realized. I called and asked if it was there, it was. Andrea- was beyond kind and got me to calm down. She agreed to take it to a UPS store- after working her early full shift, and call me and let me have it shipped overnight to me. It had everything in it. She called me and we got the purse shipped. I tried to send her some money for her troubles and she refused. This was the kindest thing someone could do and I could not be more grateful. Thank you to Andrea for going above and beyond. Thank you Lighthouse for employing an amazing person. Your business is tasty and your employees are fabulous! Thank you, thank you, thank you! read more

We had heard great things about this place but our experience was not as good.We arrived at just after 10 in the morning and did not make it to the counter to order until 11. Almost an hour in line was not the problem as we assumed the bakery goods had to be excellent if the line was this long. I still wonder, because by the time we reached the front they did not have anything for which we came, left. Were I working there I would have made some sort of announcement (about what was and what was not avaiable) letting folks in this long line that they were potentially waiting for nothing. I ate an underwhelming sandwhich and my husband left with nothing. It wasnot worth the wait. read more

Great cheese danish!!! Bacon wrap is also fabulous. This is a place I would say is can't miss on the island!!!

You need these pastries in your life right now! They were so delicious and served warm and gooey. We ate on the cute and quaint patio and they brought our drinks out for us since they were still being made when we got our food. read more

Unfortunately this did not live up to the hype. The place was cute but the pastries were "at least" maybe more.... day old....took them back to the house and had to microwave them and they were still tough to get a fork through....very sad (buyer's remorse as well as we spent $80 on 11 pastries and two coffees). My suggestion...if you're gonna go, don't go the first day or two they are open? Let the old stuff empty out...then try one and a coffee, sit and enjoy the cute place and decide then if it worth buying more read more

It's a neat place for breakfast. I'll eat there again when I come back. The line was long but we got through it quickly.

Be sure to order ahead they are very popular and run out of somethings. The girls I was with loved the Frappuccinos. The pastries were super good. read more

The bakery was spotless from the moment I stepped in. All the surfaces looked clean and the staff wore gloves while handling food. I tried their croissants and they were buttery, fresh, and flaky. The pastries were displayed neatly in glass cases. I appreciate how they prioritize hygiene without compromising taste. Definitely coming back for more. read more

I wish I had taken more pictures while I was here, but I was so hungry I forgot! This place is the cutest though, and I highly recommend a visit! Pro tip before you go: this place is popular (for good reason), so if you want some fresh made pastries, get there early! My group walked in at about 10:45 am on a Tuesday and the only things left were croissants and oatmeal cookies. While this was very disappointing, we still greatly enjoyed our breakfasts of croissants and assorted drinks! My friends loved their frappes and smoothies, while I opted for an iced caramel latte. To be honest, it was one of the best lattes I've had in a while! Whatever they use for the caramel sauce was divine, and went great with my croissant. If you find yourself on Dauphin, be sure to give this place a visit. Remember to get there early though! read more

Perfection at the beach. Worth every calorie. Our group stopped in before the beach and ordered a smorgasbord of things. The line looked long, but it wasn't at all. They know what they're doing. I had a turkey croissant sandwich with Munster cheese and all the fixins. You think it's just a turkey sandwich, but it was so good. The croissant is fabulous and the portion gigantic. Also got the chocolate chip cookie (comes with 3 cookies) - a standard cookie but very great - and a blueberry danish. As other reviewers have said, the danish was amazing. It's almost like it's base is a cheese bagel - it's so soft and chewy and flavorful. My mom is still raving about it. She said it's one of the best desserts she's ever eaten. The rest of the group got cinnamon rolls too. They raves about them plus they're huge. It was certainly a big meal on the way to the beach, but it was worth it. The restaurant itself is pretty small so plan to grab it to go. The bathrooms are very clean, too - bonus! read more

Wonderful, homemade bakery items including fresh bread and pastries. Be prepared to pay a little more for these fresh made items, since they are unique to the island. Delicious! Busy!!! Very friendly with great customer service! We went several times while on vacation and they were always SO busy, but we can see why! Just be patient :) The first time we went my husband's drink order went missing and he waited a little longer than the norm (even though he didn't say anything). When someone asked what he was still waiting for they realized the error, made him his drink, and gave 2 complimentary croissants! He tried multiple times to reject them but they insisted. Very thoughtful, and indeed we ended up back there several mornings. It was a pleasure helping support this local business! read more

Friendly service--note the hours of operation 6am-1pm if planning to luncheon here Fluffy, homemade hoagie rolls and cool, crisp veggies make for a delightful summer lunch on a hot day Only downside is that there is minimal seating, large parties not easily accommodated and there are maybe two tables in the whole place. Outdoor seating available, still minimal and could be uncomfortable on a hot day read more

100/10 in my opinion! What looked like it should be a really long wait was a well-oiled machine!! They seemed to never be out of anything for longer than like 30 seconds. Oh my gosh!!! YUM! Sinfully yummy! We all agreed the Danish was the best weeverate. The bacon rolls were fun. The pecan cinnamon rolls were huge, easily enough for 2-4 meals! Most items in the store are pricy but so fun! We had a bit of trouble finding the bakery. It's across the street from the Baptist Church. There wasn't a line when we got there but there was a constant stream of customers. We're on the island for another 10 days. We're definitely going back!! read more

We had a rainy day trip to the island today. When we saw the 'bakery open' sandwich board, we decided to get a sweet treat. I'm so glad we stopped. It's a cute Victorian house with great decor and both indoor and outdoor seating. While walking up to the patio, someone was leaving, and we were immediately hit with the sweet smell of pastries and baked bread. The workers were very friendly, too. All in all, we had a great experience! read more

I wish I remembered to take a few pictures... But our pastries were that good, there was no time for photos. Either way, they wouldn't do them justice! I got a variety of pastries: cinnamon rolls, danish, turnovers and muffins. The danish was the best myself or my mother have ever ate. I loved the small fruit filling but also the cream cheese top was melt in your mouth. The cinnamon roll was giant and still warm by the time we got it home. We are going to grab both before heading back home. So happy this little place is putting out some amazing treats for the island. read more

The cafe has always been packed when we visit, so be prepared to wait! The coffee and pastries were good though.
