So glad I picked this place instead of the one down the road. The best store in term of ambiance, customer service and product. First, there were plenty of choices at 11ish when we got there. They had been open since 530 and business was good (the store had a steady flow). The workers were all pleasant and patient as we got our order of 7 people togather. The gentlemen (who I believe said he owned the store) was so helpful with chatting with us about the area! I felt bad holding him up with the chatter but he gave vibes that it is all good :) The donuts... were great! Soft inside with a well defined shell. Not overly sweet or gooey. The sandwiches? Well. We have had a few in our lives, and this is hands down the best. Their donut bun has no glaze, and this made the sandwich so much easier to manage without stickiness or contents sliding out. And the donut itself was gentle sweet and sooooo soft. Not airy like some places, genuinely soft pillow sandwich holder. Sandwiche tasted perfectly balanced. For the first time.. i didnt walk away from eating a donut sandwich heavy with oily regrets. I was happy! He said they had another store that is bigger and has even more things. I've lived this place for the 2 years I've lived here. Lately, the service has been less than you would expect. Today the cashier could not give me the correct change, even though I told her what she owed me. I told her if she couldn't give me the right change, I didn't want the order and asked for my money back. She stared at me and said that I should stop arguing with her. I did, and never will again. Stopped by Maynard's this AM and the staff was so incredibly friendly and helpful. The store was so clean and I love how it's decorated. The breakfast sandwich was so good. The glazed donut on top was delicious and probably my favorite donut. We also got an Apple fritter which didn't make it for a picture. It was massive and so yummy! Second location that just JUST opened. Super cute little spot and the couple that owns it is great! The inside and outside are in fantastic condition and you can really tell they put a lot of energy into this second location just like they did the first. The Donuts are great and they have rotating types for the seasons / holidays on top of regular go to donuts that we're all familiar with and use to seeing on menus. The coffee is good and they'll soon have ice cream as well - this will likely be a regular stop for me on Sunday / once a week. The doughnuts were the cherry on top of our trip. They were perfectly moist and iced with love. The sleeper coming in hot at number one was the sour cream, glazed doughnut. It was perfect. Number two was the apple pie. Rankings after that varied by sibling. Jennifer, behind the counter, had us smiling and laughing for our entire visit. The service was absolutely superb! The two young ladies were so helpful and kind. We got an assortment of a few donuts ranging from classic glazed, to specialty assortment. The glazed donuts were a bit dense not to our liking compared to the turtle or pumpkin spice one of our favorites was the Maple glazed with bacon blueberry cake donuts- sweet and savory flavors together were delicious! The kolaches were a bit bland we tried the cheddar option, the sausage was Devine but the breading was a bit dry lacking flavor. My granddaughters and I got up very early (when we didn't have to !) just to visit Maynard's. The shop is delightful in decor. It is clean, pleasant.....and the aroma! Oh my! Wonderful to smell first thing in the morning. My girls got fancy flavored donuts, but I opted for the APPLE FRITTER and a cup of coffee. It was hot and fresh. I'm going to be real-- I'm not a fan. I got a polish kolache, maple bacon donut, and chocolate dipped donut. I've never had a kolache before, but I was left wanting more flavor from the bread portion of it. I've been more satisfied by a Costco hot dog than this. As for the donuts, the maple bacon was overly sugary, and I don't mean when older people say that something is too sweet, I mean I can literally feel the sugar grains in the topping itself. Not my cup of tea. I didn't have that issue with the chocolate donut, so at least it wasn't a total waste. I gave this place four stars because it really is a nice joint, from the variety to the freshness. Their cinnamon rolls looked AMAZING. The donut part was really soft and light. Yikes, I was excited to finally try this donut place out and it was so disappointing. I don't know where to begin. Maybe it's because I bought it at 5pm and it's no longer fresh? I won't step foot in a Dunkin Donut just because they defrost their donuts and it isn't made fresh daily but I would reconsider going to Dunkin before having Maynards donuts again. Not only was the donut dense and SUPER dry but the flavor was awful :( I'm not sure why this place has been hyped up by so many "Pensacola foodies" but please try giving Lickin' good donuts or Krispy Kreme a try, I promise it won't disappoint. read more

As you open the door you realize you are entering the portal to take you to Donut Heaven and the owner was our friendly, proficient tour guide explaining all the varieties available to us..... Let it be known that I am not usually a "donut person" but I went along with Donut enthusiasts this morning. Was in town for a wedding and staying with my grandmother for the weekend. She knows I love donuts and so she said she just HAD to take me here. She mentioned the owners go to the same church as her which thats is her one "big thing" if you will. We got 6 donuts and I took my choosing of three, and the friendly worker quickly grabbed them for me. I got a PB&J filled donut, snickers, and a peanut butter donut. My favorite was definitely the PB&J it was filled with a lot of strawberry jelly, and was in one word delicious. It was a very nice treat and the total for 6 donuts and some free donut holes was about $7.50 which is not bad at all from a price stand point. Baby Review Time: Maynard's Donut Co. We decided we needed a sugar pick me up this morning and decided to try the newly owned Maynard's Donut. I look forward to seeing if the new owner is staying consistent with the previous deliciousness? Wow!!! Choices, decisions, and regret of not trying everything. Under the new ownership, you better be prepared to face your 51 flavors of doughnuts. I can't believe all of the amazing choices they have of doughtnuts. They also have these giant cinnamon rolls, fritters, twists, kolaches, and have introduced the new breakfast doughnut sandwich. The sandwich is basically a plain, non glazed, doughnut sliced in half with your choice of protein, egg, and cheese. So today, we decided to try the phenomenal over stuffed blueberry cheesecake doughnut. I love how these doughnuts have a crispy skin, but a light as air center. The doughnut is loaded with this amazing slight sweet blueberry jelly filling and delicious cheesecake cream. We, also, decided to try the pork kolache, which overall was very good. But if you are looking for it to being comparable to a Texan kolache, you might be slightly disappointed. It does not have the slight sweetness that a Texan kolache has. But no matter, overall was still a good fresh kolache with a very tasty pork sausage in the center. We also decided to try the doughnut breakfast sandwich, which is a phenomenal concept. As stated before, I love the texture of their doughnuts, but I believe the doughnut needs to be dressed in something. For instance, possibly offering their maple bacon or French toast or the cinnamon sugar doughnut as the "bun" and then give the option of what protein is inside. The doughnut undressed is very under whelmed and the protein takes away from the star in my opinion, which would be the doughnut for me. Overall Review: the most amazingly friendly and fast service (5/5) and breakfast snacks (doughnuts are amazing, kolaches are good (not Texan level, but still satisfying), and breakfast sandwhich needs a little boost, but phenomenal concept) (4/5)...by the way they are opening another location soon on Pine Forest and 9 mile...congratulations to your up coming expansion... read more

They missed The Donut King, a shop so delish and loved that Disney sells their donuts in the parks. Maynards is the closest we've come to our beloved Donut King. The first time I got donuts from this store I spent $27 on donuts and had to throw most out because the frosting tasted really weird. I gave it a second chance today and the same thing, the frosting on these donuts taste like a chemical. I thought maybe it was the food coloring, but even the glazed donuts taste awful. Had a wonderful experience! The worker was so welcoming and friendly. We needed some coffee after waiting on a vet visit and so glad we stopped here. Coffee with their homemade creamer was delicious and of course we couldn't pass up on the sweets. We got a pb&j donut and a giant cinnamon roll, both were 5/5.
