I'm glad to hear that most people have had a good experience here (as I have had at other Lush Spaw…read morelocations in the past) but our first visit to the Santa Clara location was not a great experience and how it was handled was even worse... We took both our dogs in (German Shepherd and a schnauzer) for a bath service and de-shedding for my Shepherd, "Z". I let them know our schnauzer can be bitey with his feet/ears and to take whatever precautions necessary and that Z is pretty good, just very anxious. When I picked them up, the staff mentioned Z "freaked out" when they tried to use the blower and hurt his lip trying to bite the nozzle. I checked his face for some kind of abrasion or cut but didn't see anything. Very long story short, later that night we found he had broken one of his top canine teeth almost in half and the jagged edge was cutting his interior lip. A few rough days for Z (and us) waiting for vet appointments and $8,000.00 later, he had to get a root canal under anesthesia. I understand that accidents happen but also don't feel that Z was properly handled as they could have attempted a different method of drying/de-shedding him, rather than presumably continuing a method that stressed him out. When I first called the manager "Aqua" to bring this to her attention, she was very empathetic and professional but this manner did not continue. She said they would check the recording of his grooming to see what happened. We then played phone tag for a couple of days before she completely stopped answering my calls, texts, and voicemail attempts. This was the most disheartening part for me because even if they had responded saying everything looked fine on the recording, it still would have felt better than literally being ghosted by a "professional" business. We didn't get a call back from her until I called her from my partner's phone, whose number she didn't have. That pretty much confirmed she was purposely screening me. While speaking with my partner, Aqua sounded much more defensive while saying there was nothing concerning seen on the recording and admitting they did not complete the services paid, but ultimately gave my partner her email and the email the owner reviews to further discuss the issue. If nothing was seen on the recording, why wouldn't they have just responded with that in the first place? At least that's how it came across.. In the end, they refunded me Z's bath service (as requested) and didn't bother responding to our email. I really just wanted to advocate for my dog and hoped the management/owners would care that this happened, possibly due to their negligence, but was met with a different interaction. I truly hope they take this experience as an opportunity to further counsel their groomers on proper handling of anxious dogs. FYI - This isn't the first severe incident I've heard about occurring within their business since this happened but can't personally speak on the others.

Katherine arrived and was friendly from the start. Super cool, easygoing vibe. She made Nala feel comfortable almost immediately, which I really appreciated. I was always worry about the handoff part, but never had to with this company. I'll definitely be requesting Katherine going forward and hope we can keep working with her for future appointments. After doing further research, I was quite shocked by the high price but decided to give it a try and have never looked back. I did not like taking my dog Cookie to get haircuts because when she would go to Petco for grooming services, it would take about 6 hours and my dog gets a lot of anxiety being around other dogs which would then give me anxiety as well during those 6 hours of waiting. Groombuggy on the other hand has been a lifesaver because I can consistently request for groomers we like and I have had nothing but great experiences. I first got paired with Sydney and my dog adapted to her very quickly, but after moving to the South Bay, we got paired with Francisco and he has been as equally as amazing! Although the price is high, I love knowing that my dog is getting 1-1 care and building that comfort with her groomer. Not only do I personally feel less anxiety as well, but I also appreciate the rapport I can build with their team as well. Their consistency in communication and transparency in letting me know if my dog is doing okay or too anxious, etc, is amazing. Scheduling an appointment and paying is very easy via text. Also, I live in an apartment now so Francisco lets me know when he's on the way and texts me throughout the grooming to let me know how Cookie is doing. I feel their team is very patient, understanding, and adaptable, which to me, is truly priceless. I see a lot of mixed reviews, but I personally love Groombuggy as someone who has struggled a lot with finding the right groomer for my dog. Not only did we find one great groomer, we found two! I truly trust them and appreciate their team. I would highly recommend giving Groombuggy a try! :)

We tried multiple scratching posts, but he just wasn't interested. After some searching, I found an amazing groomer named Stacy. I was able to stop by her location, and she quickly trimmed his nails--he was so much happier afterward! The price was very reasonable, especially since I chose to go to her instead of using her mobile grooming van, which helped save a bit of money. Later, I decided to book a full grooming session for him. I was a little nervous since he's 10 years old and had never had a bath before. I worried he might be upset with me afterward--but to my surprise, he was his usual purring, happy self! His fur was incredibly soft, he smelled great, and you'd never know he'd just had a completely new experience. I'll definitely keep going back to Stacy for nail trims. As for the full grooming--it was a bit pricey for my budget, but I completely understand why. It takes serious skill, patience, and training to do what she does, and Stacy is truly a master at her craft!
