I had questions about the S/W on an "Air" that seemed to have limited range and altitude. The tech asked me a couple of questions and I swear, he just looked to the display, waved his arms" and like magic it was fixed. I know this is quite unspecific but I walked in with questions and a drone that was not working well, he made it work and then directed me out to the parking lot and said "go out and see how it works and if it doesn't, then come right back in". It's an hour plus to get over there from Haslet but is absolutely worth it. "Worth it!" He wouldn't take any money either. He didn't do any actual "repair work" but just looked at the display on my iPhone and touched the display like he REALLY knew what he was doing. Super impressed! read more

I am completely unhappy with the repair work received from DronesPlus. I still don't have a truly working drone as the solder work and repair parts used equal up to sub-par. After having to return a second time because the repair was incorrect and untested. No apology for the inconveniences, and I am STILL having transmission issue and in looking into the legs and antennas it is clear why. The solders for these are globbed on and likely shorting out the coax. I used to be able to get 1-1.5 miles range, no I can't get 500-600 feet... The arm used for right side was apparently used and broken as it is missing a part of it's main connecting bracket. read more

They wanted me to pay 700 hundred dollars to fix my drone. It was a Simple piece of Plastic they told me that i have to buy a whole new gimbal. I did not believe them so i picked up my Drone and sent it off to DJI. It was only 40 dollars. It cost more in shipping than it cost me to fix it. Fantastic place. Shout out to the staff at drones plus for saving my project in a pinch. I flew into Texas and forgot my props in Cali. They didn't have my props in stock but were able to get me a new drone with firmware updated, batteries and controllers charged, and ready for take off in the field. I don't even think geek squad would do that for you. I dropped in 8/7/19 to talk about getting my drone fixed it has a barometer error. I was told they would find the issue and give me a call back with an estimate. 8/8/19 I still hear nothing have to call back and am quickly rushed off the phone. They said they are still trying to trouble shoot. 8/9/19 I have to call once again ask for a status gentleman says he can't find the issue but said the board is bad and it will be around $450 to replace. I give him the go ahead. Call back around 5:00 asking about my drone was informed the tech has left for the day and it would not be done. I just asked them to reassemble my drone and give it back to me. Not impressed with your service and the deadlines you had set and not met. I would avoid this place the guys always rush you off the phone and seem a little sketchy when offering price for their service. I consigned a drone with Drones Plus. I stopped by to pick up the drone. Evidently they sold it. No one called or sent a check. No one can find the info other than it is not in the store. The owner (Don) spoke with an employee by phone twice but would not authorize paying me or replacing the drone. I have been waiting in the store for over an hour. The male employee was the worst communicator for customer service I have ever experienced. The other employee tried but I could tell she had no authority to say much. Don the owner was asked to call me. He has not. After almost 2 hours I have no drone & no check!!!!!!!!!!! I would give no star if I could i finally got a check after waiting 2 hours + & refusing to leave without resolution. read more

Let me start with this, Please , please and please take complete pictures of the drone inside out ( if you can) because these people steal money from customers, Here is my story, i crashed my DJI Phantom 3 Standard drone. Searched in google and found "Drone plus" a legit. There were couple of issues with the done 1. The base supporting plate of camera was cracked 2. Getting Accelerometer error when starting the drone. I when to their shop, got the free estimate. Their reply was that the whole IMU unit is faulty and they have to replace it. I asked them not to replace it, i asked them just to replace the cracked base of camera. As per their policy they put all the faulty parts which they replace attached to the drone. After getting the drone i opened it just to get the accelerometer issue fixed (based on the findings from YoutTube) and i saw the compass connector which is attached to the motherboard is missing and the connector is handing with couple of wires out of the connector. Next day morning i reached to their shop and asked them whats the deal with the compass connector because they never told me any issues related to that. The senior technician said the compass connector was loose so he tried to fix it by soldering. First of all when they did the analysis they never told me the compass connector is bad and i even didn't see the missing part attached which they should have. Not sure who asked them to solder the connector when i didn't want to fix it. I am pretty sure that they broke this part and tried to fix on their own and they don't accept their own mistake. Recently bought DJI Mavic Pro combo from them. First off, if you buy from DJI direct, it's the same price as the store. If you're a student or an educator, you can get a 10% discount. Drones Plus can't do that. DJI will also send out a contracted worker to deliver the drone to you and get it setup and educate you on how to use the drone. Great service for a new user. When I brought all this up to the store, they said I could buy direct from them and even though they couldn't honor the price, they'd offer up training from their store expert, Garrett. I had specific questions about the gesture controls and tracking system. The sales rep assured me Garrett would go over this with me when we did our training. Garrett is the store owner's (or manager's) son. He'll get you all setup and teach you how to fly. I felt compelled to use a local store and yes even pay a little extra to use them as opposed to buying direct from DJI. It's kind of nice to shop with a local presence and know someone right down the street if you need their help. I told them I'd be willing to pay extra and buy from them. They were happy to hear that and I was more than willing to do it. I set an appointment to come back to the store and meet with Garrett a few days later. I showed up for my appointment and Garrett no showed me. One of the store employees even told me "Yeah, this happens. Garrett's the owner's son and he kind of does what he wants sometimes." I think good business etiquette should have been the store calling its customer and letting them know there may be a need to reschedule or make the customer aware the expert trainer won't be here anymore and ask if the customer would still like to come in but just meet with someone else. Anyways, I showed up and was told Garrett wasn't here and they didn't know where he was so, I got my training from someone else. That person tried his best but several of my questions were met with "I don't know. I'm not used to the Mavic. I fly a Phantom." Not this guy's fault since he's not usually the trainer. He was doing his best. So, when I called back to address this issue, I was told I could pay $50 more to come back and meet with Garrett and he'd do specialized training for me since I already had my initial training where they basically show you how to get the "bird" up in the air. When the original sales rep "sold" me on the idea of buying from them and not DJI, a lot of it was based off this extra layer of service and attention they'd provide me. There are many good things about the store and local ownership. Sales reps are very knowledgeable. However, 1) getting stood up by Garrett and not even getting a heads up about it and 2) being offered a chance to come back and pay $50 for extra training when my initial training was pretty lacking makes me feel a bit like this store over promises a bit and under delivers. If I could do it all over, I'd buy from DJI. read more

I needed my shell replaced on my DJI Phantom4 after checking around and getting a quote from another drone repair shop for $85.00 per hr. and being told that it would take 4 hours and 1 hour to check out the systems($425.00). Be aware with this place. OVERPRICED AND DISHONEST. They switched out my SD Card from 400GB to 4GB. And I even bought new propeller for my DJI mini 2, they tried to give my drone back without it. Luckily, I remembered and checked it, and he said "oh it's not new", I told him to look in the receipt and he said "oh okay, I'll do it now". I stopped by the shop today to have my DJI Phantom looked at. I had crashed the drone 2 years ago while on vacation in Hawaii into a bunch of sand. The guys at the store were kind enough to throw a battery in it, test the controller, diagnose the engines, and get it running again. I was in and out of the store in less than 20 mins and they did not even charge me. I will always recommend them to anyone I come across. They fixed the issue for $60 and it only took them two working days. I thought the other place was being over generous with my money and this proved it. These guys are super amazing. I'm so impressed. I crashed my drone and paid to ship my drone to them all the way from Georgia. Unfortunately, the damage to my drone called for more repair than I was willing to pay. But they really tried to find creative ways to help me. I could tell they were really trying to come up with a solution that was the most economical. When I declined, they had a great attitude. My drone was shipped back to me and all I had to pay was return shipping. The last thing really blew me away. One of my white propeller locks on the motor was missing. I called and let them know but it was a bit of a mystery. I was thinking... Well that's cheap at least. No biggie. They had been so nice to me. The next day someone calls me, I believe his name is Justin...apologizes and sends me a new set of propeller locks for my drone for free. That is real integrity.
