On a recent road trip out of town, we stopped at Drippin Donuts to grab some breakfast. They had a nice selection of breakfast kolaches and croissant sandwiches that provided enough choices that there was a little something for everyone. (This made Dad very happy because it was an efficient breakfast stop.) I really enjoyed my sizeable sausage, cheese and jalapeno kolache as well as my bacon, egg and cheese croissant sandwich. The croissant sandwich was large as it contained a nice fried egg (yolk was not overly runny) and two nice strips of thick bacon on a buttery and flaky croissant. Although we didn't get a donut, it looks like they had a nice selection of those as well. Next time we're headed out Hwy. 290, we'll be stoppin back in! read more

Below average donuts. Servers get very impatient with customers. Typical mistake many customers make. Just because something is local doesn't automatically make it great. These donuts aren't as good as chain stores offer. But they are local. read more

My sister has a server dairy allergy and we asked for a kolache without cheese when we went back inside to tell them and they argued and gave us two more kolaches so we go back to our car and once again they have cheese. So going in a second time they argued so we showed them and they said they rang it up wrong. Idc just give us kolaches without the dang cheese. read more

The younger woman at the register was rude and had an attitude and obviously didn't want to be there. started with here just staring at me when i was next in line. i even made the comment "i guess your ready for me then" I asked "Can you recommend a few you like, I have never been here before". "No" then got yelled at and told to look at the wall of donuts when I order not the menu because it's different. And a few I asked for she forget but I wasn't going to re ask and spend more money. I've driven by this non-descript little building a few times when headed to Pedernales. Last week I was headed out on a Saturday morning to meet a group and had a hankering for a fritter just as I passed the building again. I doubled back and I'm so glad I did! The donuts are five star, without a doubt. I bought a couple fritters, a couple eclairs and cinnamon rolls. Along with some regular and chocolate milk. I finished my fritter before reaching my destination, it was so good. And most of the group wolfed theirs down as well. There were a few people ahead of me in the building, a car in the drive thru, and a large group walked in as I was leaving and I see why. The place itself is nothing to write home about (small building, a few tables, drive thru), but the donuts sure are! I will definitely be going back anytime I'm in the general vicinity. read more

My husband discovered this place a month or so ago, and we have gotten donuts and kolaches every Sat since! The kids are asking when they wake up! You've got Flores for the breakfast Tacos and Drippin Donuts for some seriously good donuts and the best Kolaches in Austin. I don't write Yelp reviews often- only when things are the best of the best or the worst of the worst. I stopped in to this donut shop to grab my boys breakfast on the way back to Boerne from Austin. I rarely eat donuts because I'm always disappointed, but the chocolate butter cream filled with powder sugar looked too good to pass up. Hands down best eclairs I have ever had. They told me that they experimented a lot with the recipe to get it just right, and it shows. The donuts are more like the ones I remember growing up, rather than the "greasy bags of air" from Krispy Kreme. I stopped about 8am on a Saturday morning. I was late for a hair appointment at the Hill Country Galleria and needed a quick stop breakfast. I'm not much for sweets, so I ordered two plain cake donuts. OMG - they were WARM and perfect! They reminded me of my hometown bakery when I was a kid in a small town in Illinois. Crispy on the outside...light and airy inside. Not greasy...not dry. Probably the best plain cake donuts I've had in my entire life. I am definitely a donut connoisseur. In grad school I was given a sweatshirt about donuts as I was the early bird who made the coffee and brought in the donuts (then is was Krispy Kreme). But, people, let me point you to the best donuts in the AREA; Drippin Donuts glazed and cake donuts are done right! My kids also love the ham and cheese kolaches. The kolaches have a sweet, yeast bread and a warm simple filling of cheese and ham (or sausage- which we have never tried). We often buy a dozen of the kolaches to have for a breakfast treat and a busy day supper on the way to a baseball game. The folks at Drippin Donuts are very nice. The main focus - the GLAZED DONUTS, just try them. They are amazing. If you worry about calories - get the donut holes, packed in 6s or 12s, my understanding is a donut hole is a lack of calories (right?). read more
