Wings, pulled pork, cornbread, and coleslaw

I haven't been able to stop thinking about the wings from Drinking Pig since I had them for the first time. The spicy buffalo is one of my favorite buffalo sauces I've tried in the city and everything from the coleslaw to even the ranch sauce all felt like elevated versions of usual classics. The brisket was also unbelievably delicious and all the unique sauces elevate every bite. The service is so welcoming and attentive, and I love how they bring everything out at once, meticulously arranged on one tray. This will become your next obsession!

The Drinking Pig has delicious moist beef brisket and amazingly flavorful tasty sausage. The chicken was dry, at least as served. The cornbread was good with a strong buttery flavor. My favorite side is collard greens. I enjoyed this bbq. The ambiance is casual, and the service is exceptionally fast.

Great experience at the Drinking Pig BBQ. We went on a whim and it was packed, but we were able to snag a table pretty quickly. You order at the hostess stand, get a number, and grab a table. Although you order and pay at the start service was great, everyone was very attentive. Let's talk food, we ordered a nice sampling of pulled pork, wings, mac & cheese, baked beans, and roasted sweet potato. It was all served family style with a little pickled onion and hot pickle slices (nice touch). The interior looked to be mostly made up of a bar area with the seating being all outside. I could be wrong; it was packed and we didn't venture into the bar area. All in all, the food was good (a lot of it, we had leftovers for days) and we will absolutely be back. Next time we're trying the cornbread.

Not a huge barbecue person however this spot it's so good. The wings are great & the hot sauce flavor is delicious!! My favorite thing from the spot definitely has to be their smoked turkey. It is extremely juicy and flavorful pairs as well with their homemade Carolina barbecue sauce. Not a huge fan of the baked beans they were a little too sweet for me. The mac & cheese was good, but nothing out of this world. Have been back twice already and will continue to come back. They also have plenty of seating and the service is also good.

Back in the day at Smorgasburg I discovered Drinking Pig because they were across from the Lazy Oyster. Fast forward a few years, and Drinking Pig is the most welcome addition to the Chug's Courtyard in Coconut Grove. If you like BBQ, Drinking Pig is for you. If you don't like BBQ, Drinking Pig is going to make you like BBQ. I've found myself at Drinking Pig for a meal about once a month for the last three months and it has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Miami. Why? Everything is so freaking good! What I have ordered: +Brisket: delish +Pulled Pork: I love the pulled pork because it isn't saucy, but you can add your own BBQ sauce and it's great. +Ribs: great +Whole Chicken: way to get the protein - this is divine and a huge portion to share with a group. It comes cut so easy to eat / share. +Smoked Chicken wings: I have to say, these are now my favorite wings in Miami. From the first time Jeff told me to order the wings last month, every time I have returned I have ordered these wings. I have also told anyone who will listen to order these wings. I have not been met with one regret for myself or anyone who listened to me. They are juicy, saucy, worth the mess, and something that I think about often. When it comes to sides you cannot go wrong with the Mac and Cheese and Corn Bread. Both are fireeeee. They also have a full bar and beer / wine if you want to enjoy a drink while you eat. The way ordering works here is you wait in line, order, and find a table. They open a tab for you so if you want to order more at the table you can, but you should come prepped to know what you want initially. The seating is a mix of outdoor picnic tables and an inside bar. On a beautiful sunny day, Drinking Pig hits. I love it there. My advice - go in a group so you can order everything. However, if you order everything not in a group, you will have the best leftovers. I've heard folks say that Drinking Pig is expensive. First of all, most things in Miami are expensive in 2026 - and a lot of them are not high quality meats like you're going to get here. Second, I went this weekend with 6 girls - we ordered: whole chicken, 12 wings, 1/2 lb pork, 2 mac and cheeses, collard greens, 2 corn breads, and cole slaw and each spent $27 which included a 20% tip. A great value in my book!

    A little bit of everything.

I was between a 3 and 4 for this review and it comes down to one thing.. Service. That said, the food - PHENOMENAL. my only gripe was I found some of the food a little too salty. Ultimately, the food is why I'm giving this a 4 review. And now for junkies critique, In most cases, the service was good while we were being attended to. However, we found service lacking at several points during our visit. It's not that the servers weren't attentive or accommodating - it's just a matter of sort of being ignored for large gaps of time and in one case, just getting an inappropriate attitude from one server. The ambiance was good as well. We really enjoyed our time and would go again and do recommend.

Out of all ribs, pulled pork etc if u come too late!

Epic BBQ review alert!!! Today we decided to forgo our usual Sunday Brunch for a later day meal. So, Tonight the hubby surprised me with an impromptu drive to Coconut Grove for delicious authentic BBQ! We spied (and smelled) this lovely establishment a few weeks ago while next door at the famous "Chug's" for brunch. We vowed to come try it, after checking the stellar starry reviews on YELP! Tonight's the night! We grabbed our trusty pup Ahsoka, and headed over around 7. Parking can be difficult, so we chose a lot. (Expensive!) We strolled on over and ordered immediately from host station. Sadly, they were out of all ribs and a few other things, but no worries. There are still a bunch of solid choices! We ordered brisket, smoked turkey, chicken wings, cornbread, baked beans, mac & cheese plus the star of the show-banana pudding in a mini mason jar! Then We sat at a roomy painted picnic table by the pretty fountain and waited. I grabbed water at the cooler and hubby got unsweet iced tea in a covered signature plastic cup. $4.50 (NO refills!) We receive complimentary pork rinds and then, The moment of truth arrives! Staff brings a huge tray and explains sauces and things. 1. I go for the corn bread first--LEGIT! Perhaps the best I've ever had, not too sweet, not cake-like, decidedly NOT from a mix! Warm, crusty, moist flavorful Corny Perfection. 2. Next-baked beans hits it out of the park! Melt in your mouth beans with the smoky meaty taste of brisket. Neither watery nor dry, just a good thick moist consistency. 3. Smoked Turkey-stuff of thanksgivings gone by, but not really a smokey taste. Still good lean juicy turkey breast. I took the opportunity to try it with the table sauces. One was terrific on it, you'll experiment for yourself. 4. Chicken wings--SCORE! These were FIRE! Lean, meaty, too quality cooked well and sauced. A real standout. Honestly, I could just stop here!! But no, which leads me to... 5. Brisket!! This is a good test right here. I was torn about ordering it, since I've been burned time and again by super fatty fattiness!! HOWEVER no caution necessary. This is a brisket for a Holiday meal! It's first cut lean, thick sliced, flavorful, cooked exactly to tenderness, and juicy! Yay brisket heaven!! So SO great. 6. Just when you think it can't all hit right on, here comes MAC & CHEESE! Tender unassuming little macaroni elbows covered in crumbs of soft moist cheesy goodness. You'll have to hold yourself back from eating it all at once and filling up! Relax, you can just take it home right in the container with a requested lid or provided boxes and bag. But Don't stop believing now because... 7. BANANA PUDDING?! This is the only item I requested in particular, lest they run out. A nice healthy helping enough for two comes in a cute small Mason jar to look at longingly throughout the meal. It reminded me to save room especially! Was I impressed!! Ripe soft banana slices floating in custard-like mousse/pudding consistency. Soft Nilla wafer-ish crumbs throughout top and concentrated on the bottom layer punctuate the flavor without overpowering. Honestly, the hardest thing is controlling yourself to not fill up on any one thing. Moral of the story: come back again EARLY to not miss the ribs running out haha! FOMO there. However, We vow to come back for our usual Sunday Brunch rounds. Stay tuned for the full beef and spare ribs experience. Thanks for following my Miami adventures: happy yelping in 2026! -Tami in Miami

Who new there was such great BBQ hidden in the Grove. Alot of Jamaican influenced items and the Jamaican patty brisket is unlike any other one I have had. It was off the chain. The brisket and pulled pork were perfect in every way. Try the coco bread!

Happy to try on our food crawl. Stop number 2

I've heard of this place recently on social media ans dying to go. Fast forward a few weeks later to Dec 11th, a few of us on a food crawl hit this spot up 2nd on our list that night. Being a Thursday night this place was jumping with lines just to wait to order and mostly all tables inside and the common area courtyard just outside. We were a big group of 7 so was no quick easy task to snag a table in the courtyard and then borrow chairs unused from other tables but all worked out While that was going on, the ordering line was slow with about 8 or more people standing and advancing. All with the host explaining various items on menu and what they are out of. When it came to my turn to order, they were out of spare ribs but had explained they always run out of items but takes a bit for the kitchen to catch up to restock and put back on the menu. Example, the brisket came back on the menu. Since im a rib guy, had opted for the honking huge beef rib. 1 beef rib so big could feed 3 people (?) 1lb and a half? Anyway, had also ordered the pork belly. They gave me a number on stand, took back to our table and waited but luckily others had their food and sampled someone's brisket and a piece of sausage link k It was soft good bbq brisket and must with their sauce for extra yummyness. The sausage link was ok. Eventually my order came out and boy oh boy what treat! Super huge beef rib bone in! Beautiful bark on the outside. I was drooling in heaven while easily pulling the meat off the bone with fork. The flavor ans texture sent heavenly explosions in the mouth So dreamy. Others took photos and I invited them all to try this impressive monster. All while eating that, also had such soft creamy savory pork belly. Omg. All this screamed leftovers aince we still had at least 1 more stop to go on our food crawl! Side note: if did have epic leftovers the next day. Now the grove is not easy to park your car but this place would make it worthwhile. Come and eat and stroll around! Your tongue and stomach would be very happy.

Discovered this place while looking for BBQ spots to try out. The place was a 5 minute walk from the parking garage and it had indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered our food with the host at the front and once we were finished ordering we were told that we could pick any table we'd like to sit at. Once we sat down we were quickly brought water and complementary pork ribs. The pork ribs were very light, crispy, and airy with a subtle smoky flavor. Our food came shortly after on a large platter. The brisket had a range of lean and fatty pieces. The leaner pieces were slightly dry but the thin layer of fat was enough to make it juicy. The fattier pieces were packed with flavor, the fat almost made it feel like savory butter, and was very tender. The pork belly was very tender and just like the brisket, the fat tasted almost butter like. The beef rib was huge and falling off the bone. Depending on where you ate from, the pieces got more and more tender. The cornbread was very soft and crumbly. It was very moist and slightly sweet. The mac & cheese had small elbow pastas which allowed for more sauce per bite. The sauce was very creamy and the mac & cheese was topped off with shredded cheese and crispy breadcrumbs. There are two different types of BBQ sauces: House BBQ sauce and Mustard Based BBQ sauce. The House BBQ sauce was slightly tangy and sweet with a little spiciness to it. The Mustard Based BBQ sauce was tangy, slightly spicy, and a bit tart. Overall, the food was very delicious and the staff were very friendly. All the cuts of meat were very tender, they all had a smoky savory meaty flavor and I can't wait to go and try their other cuts of meats and sides.

Ordered to go this time and it was just as incredible! Tried the pork belly and wings this time and they were a necessity! So, definitely ordered those two items. The 1/2 chicken and ribs were also delicious. I ordered at the time of opening and had the food prepared for 2:30. It was fresh, yummy and the service was excellent! Thanks Franklin and the team! When I went to pick up the order, the ambiance was lively, clean and welcoming.

Although I had a hard time figuring out when to get here, I finally went super early on Wednesday and it was the best time. The wait was really short - people started really showing up around 4:30 and they open at 5p. Now in true fashion we got one of everything they offered. The pulled pork and sausage were still getting smoked but we were happy with everything else! The one that stood out the most was the beef rib, the Mac n cheese was really really good and the banana pudding I'd recommend ordering as soon as you get there in case the sell out. Chef was really nice, staff was pleasurable and the fact they gave us waiting beers? We can't wait come back. Parking lot is at the Playhouse lot and it's a casual walk over! Highly recommend.

Spare Ribs and Mac & Cheese
    Yannah M.

I was really excited to try this place, but it's a no for me. Let's start with a positive: they have happy hour every day from 5PM to 7PM. I enjoyed a daiquiri for just $9! For my entrée, I ordered the spare ribs with a side of Mac & Cheese - which is not included in the price of the entrée. The portion size is disappointing: only two ribs, and they didn't have much meat on them. On top of that, like I mentioned, the mac & cheese (and any side, for that matter) are an additional cost. Overall, it's expensive for what you get. The service was fine, nothing out of the ordinary. I won't be running back to Drinking Pig.

It's easy to find right off Bird Road with easy strip mall parking. Upon arriving it sets the mood entirely with great fun appropriate decor and a prompt happy welcome. Staff Makes us feel they are glad we came-What a cool place! We settle on the brisket, baby back ribs, potato salad and beans with brisket. Can I tell you EvErYtHiNg was spot on!! And we plan accordingly to try their famous 12 hour smoked Flan dessert!! 1. Smoked Brisket- moist, perfect flavor, hearty portion, tender and high quality meat. Comes with great sauce, which I didn't use since it was so perfect as is. 2. Smoked Baby Back Ribs- Another hit with healthy portion, great flavor, and super meaty. Honestly, just hard to stop eating it! 3. Baked Beans with Brisket- A true meal unto itself! I could've stopped here! Tons of brisket ground into the beans, almost like the best "chili" ever. Flavor is sophisticated smokiness, not the usual sugary sweet restaurant rendition. Yay! 4. Potato salad is FIRE! Fresh perfectly cooked tender white potatoes, cooked carrots & peas add just enough interest and a magical a touch of mayo. Yes please. 5. 12 hour smoked Flan-STAR * of the show, the flan of my dreams! Staff insisted this flan is all that and they are correct! It's LEGIT. We left with a doggie bag, so worth it. Price was for real, you pay for quality. $74, but we brought plenty home. You could get by with a meal for two around $50-60, if you need. Smoke & Dough... I Went Looking for BBQ... and Found One of the Best Pastrami Sandwiches in South…read moreFlorida Back in my day, going out for BBQ wasn't something you did every weekend. It was a special occasion. If you grew up in Miami, you probably remember The New Hickory on Coral Way. Then there was Uncle Tom's on 8th Street. Great food... but let's be honest... everybody was just a little nervous eating there because it was right next to the cemetery. You'd be halfway through your ribs thinking... "¿Tú crees que ese ruido vino del parking... o del cementerio? Later on we graduated to Luther's on Bird Road and 117th Avenue, and of course, Shorty's, the undisputed king that's been feeding hungry Miamians for generations. These days it seems like a new BBQ place opens every other week in South Florida. I recently tried one of the newer spots in South Miami... except when we got there they were out of half the menu. Nothing kills your BBQ excitement faster than hearing, "Sorry... we're out of brisket." That's like walking into Versailles and hearing they're out of croquetas. So when our friends Ana and Henry invited Betty and me to Smoke & Dough in Kendall, I was ready to get my BBQ on. We walked into this unassuming strip mall, I grabbed the menu, ready to order ribs or brisket... ...and then I saw it. The Pastrami Sandwich. Now THAT got my attention. Finding a really good pastrami sandwich down here isn't easy. Roasters 'N Toasters has a very good one. Lox of Bagels (what many of us still call Lox of Lox) makes a solid one too. But this one... This one beat them both by a mile. The meat was warm, juicy, incredibly flavorful, the cheese perfectly melted, the Thousand Island dressing was just the right amount, and the bread held everything together without falling apart after the second bite... a miracle in itself. And it wasn't one of those fancy little sandwiches you need a magnifying glass to find on the plate. This thing was substantial. I shared it with my wife... ...and I was full. ¡Y yo soy tremendo comelón! Our friends ordered the brisket empanadas, a quiche, and brisket sandwiches that looked absolutely outstanding. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked like somebody back there really cared about what they were serving. The atmosphere surprised me. Instead of feeling like an old-school BBQ joint with picnic tables and sauce bottles everywhere, it feels more like a cozy neighborhood bistro that just happens to know its way around a smoker. Comfortable, relaxed, and the kind of place where nobody is rushing you out the door because another party is waiting. They also have what looked like an excellent selection of wines and craft beers, which gives the place a slightly elevated feel without being pretentious. Now... everybody has been telling me about their famous **Smoked Flan Apparently it's slowly cooked on the barbecue pit for about five hours, giving the creamy custard and caramel a subtle smoky flavor. Believe me... I wanted to try it. But after that pastrami... Game over. There wasn't enough room left. The owners came over, introduced themselves, shared a little of the history behind Smoke & Dough, and made us feel genuinely welcome. Those little moments still matter. You leave feeling like they appreciate your business instead of treating you like the next number in line. Overall, we had a wonderful time. Good food. Great company. Friendly owners. A relaxed atmosphere where you actually want to stay awhile. After our last dining experience at another restaurant where we practically felt like they were timing us with a stopwatch, this was a refreshing change. Will I be back? Absolutely. Not just for the BBQ... I'm coming back to see if that smoked flan lives up to the hype. And maybe... Just maybe... I'll order ,another pastrami sandwich.

Per my usual attitude my first time somewhere, I wanted to try several items. The owner was super nice and gave multiple suggestions. I ended-up trying a really affordable wing special that comes with rice and beans, slaw, plantain chips and I added mac. I also added brisket, and that came with slaw. The green bean salad comes in one size as an add-on. Okay first, the owner is clearly magic, because there isn't a grill in sight. I had no intention of ordering wings, but these are seriously the best wings I've had anywhere, in a long time (100/10). The rice and beans (10/10), and the rice smelled like it came from abuelita's kitchen. The slaw, oh my goodness (100/10), so simple, and yet perfect! I thought the chips were unnecessary . . . NOT! These are delicious (10/10) and 100% belonged on my plate. The mac . . . well, you can't win 'em all. The brisket was good (9/10) and the sauce is mustard-based, just like I like it, but the star is what got me there, the green bean salad! This was a fresh, exciting dish that is like nothing you've ever had (1,000/10), I won't describe the ingredients here, because I think you should be surprised. I can't wait to go back. This is my new BBQ spot!

From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by the smell of smoked meat, and you know you're in for something special. It's a quaint little place with community-style picnic table seating indoors, and you can tell it gets busy during peak hours. The staff treated us like family from the moment we walked in and made us feel right at home. I ordered the baby back ribs and brisket, and both were outstanding. The collard greens were hands down the best I've ever had, and the sweet potato soufflé was just as memorable. Even the Texas toast was incredible--I don't usually talk about bread, but this stuff was fire! The drinks were served in large cups, and the sweet tea was absolutely perfect. Dinner for two came to about $78, which might seem a little high at first, but quality barbecue isn't cheap, and every dollar was worth it. The portions were generous, everything was fresh, and this was easily one of the best barbecue meals I've had. We were so full we almost skipped dessert, but I'm glad we didn't. The homemade Key lime pie was the best we had during our entire trip to the Keys. It was smooth, creamy, perfectly balanced with just the right amount of Key lime flavor, and unlike some of the others we tried, it wasn't gritty at all. It was the perfect ending to an incredible meal. We'll absolutely be back the next time we're in South Florida.

Every table she assisted she referred to our table as being the problem where the tables would then be staring at us and our kids the whole time. Every ask was met with a forced smile, and rolling of the eyes as she walked away. She then went to the system to enter the orders and was pointing at us - She clearly was annoyed of having to serve a large group like ours and made the experience terrible despite the food. I understand it's inconvenient when a high number table arrives but there was still a level of service and respect that should have been present. We will never go back.
