The portions are very large, you should go with an appetite. Service was very good. Would recommend this to other people for sure.

I picked up some chicken artichoke, a beer sausage, and a smoked maple. The smoked maple was outstanding and easily my favorite. The staff was friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in. They greeted me right away and asked what I wanted to order, which I always appreciate. I also decided to try a brisket sandwich, which looked too good to pass up. The brisket itself was very good and full of flavor. That said, I am someone who pays close attention to food handling. I tend to notice when gloves are used as a substitute for proper hygiene rather than an added layer of protection. Unfortunately, that showed up here. The employee making my sandwich handled a large magic marker to write something, then immediately went back to preparing food without changing gloves. That is always disappointing to see. Because of that, I ended up eating more of the meat and less of the bread, but the quality of the brisket still stood out. I did take a picture of my brisket sandwich, but the picture did not do it justice, so I decided not to post it. Overall, there is a lot to like here, especially the incredible sausage selection and the friendly service. I would definitely come back to try the tri-tip sandwich. I just hope the magic maker disappears.

We dined as a party of four for an early dinner Saturday…read more We were seated immediately and drinks were brought out right away (4 waters and 2 soft drinks), which was a great start. After that, the experience slowed down quite a bit. When ordering, the new menu was confusing. Everything is now essentially à la carte -- you order a meat or sandwich and then choose a side at an additional cost. We ordered one 3-meat combo with garlic fries, one 2-meat combo with mac & cheese, a tri-tip sandwich with garlic fries, another sandwich with regular fries, and a large onion ring for the table. There was also confusion about sides. We initially asked for a large garlic fry with the combo and were told it only came with a small side, but also that the side wasn't included in the price. The ordering process felt unclear for both us and the server. Food took about 25 minutes to arrive. During that time, we had to ask multiple staff members for utensils and condiments (BBQ sauce, ketchup, ranch, and Tabasco). We asked three different times before receiving them, and by then the fries were mostly gone. Food quality was mixed. The sandwiches and sides were actually very good, and the tri-tip was flavorful. However, the smoked BBQ meats were very dry and the house BBQ sauce was not appealing. The dining room was also quite cold during our visit. Our total bill was about $200 for four people. At that price point, we expected stronger service and more consistent food quality. The restaurant used to be a favorite when we first moved to Patterson 8 years ago, so this visit was disappointing. I hope they work out the menu clarity and service issues because the potential is still there.

The second time, we were in Turlock and decided to order ahead for pickup. We got two tri-tip sandwiches with a side of mac and cheese, and it was the perfect amount for our family of four. My kids loved it -- my son was actually obsessed with the tri-tip! Next time, I might just get him his own plate. Both times, the service was friendly and quick. It's definitely a spot worth checking out. Just a little tip -- sometimes the card reader can be finicky, so it's handy to have some cash. Super family-friendly place, and we absolutely love it!

I am not…read moresnobby and can get down and dirty with the best of them, but I wasn't expecting everything to be outside and well, so "rustic". We had a little bit of everything food-wise. While everything was decent, our tri-tip was fairly dry, and I didn't find anything special enough to want to drive back out right away. We went on a night with music, and it was pretty packed. Adults, people with little kids, people drinking booze they brought from home, etc. Beers were $1 and $1.50 a can, so I'm guessing that's a huge draw. I do appreciate being able to throw them back without breaking the bank. The band was 3 guys who sorta/kinda knew which keys to play in, but again, not worth the drive. Make sure to wear a LOT of bug spray, consider carpooling with a DD to make parking easier, and plan your bathroom trips early since there is only one sad unisex bathroom inside, and a port-a-potty outside.
