It was a drive form where we live it added to the adventure got to see the pink moon on the way there. Fiancé and I ordered cheese burrher and a bacon cheese burger with fries and onion rings as well as a Pepsi and vanilla shake. And we spotted chocolate dipped cones! So got one for the ride back. The ambiance was cute just like a drive in brings you back to nostalgic days. Service was 10/10 swift and amazing. Simple menu simple ingredients. Fries were amazing fiancé loved them said they reminded him of McDonald's style fries. Loved the beer batter onion rings and it was a really amazing charbroiled burger. 10/10 will definitely be coming here again. Saw this on the number one burger recommendation on the Merced sun star. Loved it. Also been looking for chocolate dipped cones in the area for a hot minute read more

burgers are small, they are pricey. I can't afford a meal. but their milkshakes are delicious.

Delicious fresh food, every time. Outstanding customer service, every time. Quick, efficient and well priced, every time. And Guy is always glad to see me. I've been going to Butch's since the 60's and it's still the best. read more

We are a retired couple, deciding to eat at random fast food places and dropping a review. This is a first: We drove about 50 miles and wound up in dos Palos. We stopped at Butch's. Friendly girl took our order. She didn't hesitate to tell me exactly what was in the burger. The fries are amazing. I usually have to have ketchup but their fries were hot with enough salt and crispy n soo good. The burger is nothing special but it is good & moist. One thing we noticed-the paddy covered all of the bun. Some place have a surplus of bread. The service is fast. The outside looked too sunny (mid Aug 100+)no shade of any kind. If I go by another time I will stop and try something else. read more

My husband has been coming here for years & introduced me to the place and now it's a weekly place to go to !! Love the food, service & ambiance ! read more

Not bad for a burger place it could be better but good fries and shakes even the nuggets were good

Great Burgers . The Butch Cheese Burger is very good you won't regret it. There's a reason why Butch's has been open for a long time. Don't be afraid JUST TRY IT! read more

Great food Great people Great prices Great small town Great small business Overall Great place to have lunch and dinner

Has to work a day in this town so I looked up a burger place for lunch. Butch's was the only place that came up and it had 3 stars. Not many options around. I ordered a cheeseburger combo to go. Everything was made fresh to order. Fries were still hot when I got to my car. Nothing real special about the food or place. Definitely better than a McDs burger but not as good as a In N Out. If your in town and want a burger here's the place. read more

Great place to stop in for a burger. They were super accommodating for my mom's allergies. We were just passing through but if we lived here would definitely be a regular. Staff was very very nice. Highly recommended. read more

Just passing thru and tried it out. The Milkshakes are amazing! The service was very good. Don't pass by without trying!

How are you gonna give people ranch for free but charge me in front of them. It's not about the $0.95 cents, it's the principle.

So yummy!!! Best burgers around. Fries are just perfect and ice-cream sundays so good . They are always busy and customer service is sometimes lacking but because of food i will return. read more

My friends and family eat here every week almost! Good food. Fair prices. Good friendly staff.

Might be the best burgers but the customer service sucks when it comes to ordering over the phone the older lady who answered to take my order was VERY RUDE and hung up on me mid ordering. I'll take my money somewhere else. Thank you to the older lady that works there. read more

This is NOTHING like In N out. The burger was greasy it fell apart the lettuce was old, you have to order fries burger and soda separately for some weird and inconvenient reason and its over priced. I was so disappointed. read more

Always a win, get my 1/4 burger on Saturday nights with my small fri and Mountain Dew!!! They never disappoint.

I grew up eating here with my family. I always make a stop by when I am in town. Recently moved back and eat here several times a week. My brother makes a special trip often, from Fresno, just for Butch's tacos. My favorite item is the F'n Chicken Burger. Delicious, local and charming. read more

Best burgers I've ever had, those that don't like it have no clue what they're talking about n probably like Taco Bell. Shakes are great. As a fantasy football icon ive eaten @ many burger joints n this is the best but as the old saying goes, "don't worry about the horse being blind, just load the wagon" screw you Julio! read more

After a long weekend of camping out at North Fork, my travel companion and I hit the road looking for a diner and a burger, and as it turns out, after an hour and some change, Butches was about the only blip on the radar to offer this. We pulled into to Los Banos excited to finally feast, and obvlivious to the fall-back time change that happened during the night, and we were on the verge of hunger induced melt-down when we it appeared that Butches wasn't going to open for another hour. The very kind employee, seeing the desperation in our eyes, took us in and to our delight offered to cook us up something simple, as the whole place wasn't up and running yet. We let her know we'd take whatever was the easiest for her to cook, and she replied with "how about burgers and fries?", jack pot. On the brink of annihilation came salvation. And as it turned out, these just happened to be some of the best burgers either of us have had in sometime. Thick, juicy, a dab of thousand-islandesque special sauce. it was perfect to get us full and happy and back on the road. Thanks for the kindess and the burgers, Butches, we greatly appreciated and enjoyed it. read more

This place doesn't care about covid regulations and I seen a female worker wipe her nose and then prepare my food without washing her hands, I told the workers there "I don't want any problems I just want a refund and I'll be on my way" and then they proceeded to tell me that I have "Rona shakes" and got upset at ME, mind you I was a customer and I'm trying to deescalate an EMPLOYEE read more

Food is good, except for the fact that I've gotten sick twice from it. This time I had it the night before thanksgiving and guess how I'm spending the holiday!!!l In bed. While I deal with horrible stomach cramps and other urges. The only thing worth a crap there that I'll go back for again is the milkshakes. Other than that I'm done. read more

The best place in dos palos for fried mushrooms, and slush puppies. The food is mostly burgers, fries, and sodas. The inside is very out dated, No restrooms, and to old video games from like the 80's. But food is good, staff is friendly, and they have soft serve ice cream, and milk shakes. Sad to said i miss this old place sometimes. read more

Came exactly at closing time and they were nice enough to let me order still. The burgers here are amazing!

Like 3 days ago i called in a order and i forgot to add my drinks but i was already on my way. so i went to add them before i paid then the lady in the back started yelling at me. then when i went to my car to call my boyfriend she started pointing at me and started yelling again. i just cant believe that she thought that was okay. like who in the hell thought that was okay. i get it a small business i would have never write something like this but this drew the line. i'm never eating here again and if i were you i wouldn't only if you like getting yelled at read more

Good hamburgers will come again. Didn't like the burrito I had the other day but really they are a burger place.. Onion rings I love.

This is my favorite restaurant in Dos Palos I used to walk here in 100 degree heat just to get one of their hamburgers. My favorite hamburger to get is the 1/2 pound hamburger it's HUGE and their french fries are delicious no complaints with this place :) read more

I'm a Butch's fan. Better than Don's, better than Taco Grotto. Burgers are juicy, fries are crispy, slushies are generously sized. Unfortunately the prices are a bit high. Like about double Don's prices. No bathrooms and the seating is a bit sticky. read more

In town for work and I did a little research on where to get a good burger. Butch's had pretty good reviews so I decided to try it. I couldn't have had a worse burger! For nearly $4 I ordered a basic cheeseburger with everything , ended up with a greasy tasteless patty that was 1/3 the size of bun ! The American cheese helped with the flavor due to the lack of salt, topped with shredded wilted lettuce, mushy tomatoes and chopped onions that were impossible to chew! I left feeling ripped off, disappointed, completely dissatisfied and still hungry! read more

Best burgers in town! A little expensive. Recommend the Butch Burger with bacon, grilled onions, and jalapenos! Completely worth it.
