I had the club sandwich. Slices of ham and turkey, not shaved deli meat, and plenty of smokey thick cut bacon! The fries were hot and crispy, the ice tea brewed on cold. I was here for lunch, so it was kinda empty, so service was excellent. This place is big, so it must get busy, and it's not new so it must be popular. read more

First things First. The servers were very nice and pleasant. 2nd, the recommended medium rare prime rib was tough and chewy. The prime rib was more like choice or select rib. Everything else that came with the meal was about as satisfying as the meat. My iced tea was never topped off. The building was in decent shape however the parking lot was rutted out dirt mostly. Location is good in terms of visibility from the frwy. Bottom line is someone else should own and run this place. I believe it was once a thriving restaurant but not anymore. PS. Based on the other steller reviews I must have caught them on an bad day. read more

Farnesi's Steakhouse is one of those local gems that completely surprises you the moment you walk through the door. From the outside, you might not expect much--but inside, it opens up into a spacious and beautifully laid-out restaurant. There's a large main dining area perfect for families or casual dinners, a lively bar area that often turns into a dance space on weekends, a private room ideal for smaller gatherings, and even a banquet room that's great for hosting events or celebrations. The service here is consistently excellent--warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly every time we visit. I personally love their BLT sandwich; it's always perfectly toasted, stacked with crisp bacon, fresh lettuce, and juicy tomatoes. My husband's favorite is the tequila spicy pasta, which has the perfect kick of heat and a creamy, flavorful sauce that keeps you coming back for more. We've also tried the ribeye--it was decent, though not the standout item on the menu. The vegetables could use a little improvement in flavor and presentation. But where Farnesi's truly shines is in their burgers and salads. Both are generously portioned, fresh, and packed with flavor--definitely big enough to share. Overall, Farnesi's Steakhouse offers a welcoming atmosphere, excellent service, and plenty of hearty, satisfying dishes that make it a great spot for everything from casual lunches to evening dinners out. read more

Great food, good prices and very nice staff that were attentive. We ordered a ribeye for my husband and he loved the entire dish. I ordered the chicken fried chicken and it was delicious and tender, mashed potatoes were from a box, but the gravy was yummy. Will return! read more

Very old style; food is just okay not great or bad. Won't be in a top choice for me to eat there

I went there 2x's. I walked in, I can smell mold when I walk in the door. I left both times without ordering.

Stopped by this hidden restaurant. The food was good, I had the meatloaf Was a bit dry, but the plates order from our party were delicious. I shared a steak (medium rare) and shrimp. Service was speedy and waitress was on it! Quaint place we chose the linen dining area. Definitely stopping here again. read more

A local's favorite diner, restaurant and bar. Right off the 99 in Chowchilla. It's a little tucked away behind a motel and gas station but it's well worth finding. When you enter Farnesi's, you have your choice of eating in the diner side (booths, lunch counter, ketchup bottles on the table) or going into the more upscale area to the right (white linen table cloths, crystal glasses, definitely more posh). It's kind of a trip. Whichever side you choose, you're going to eat well. I typically get the Chicken Masala or the Fried Chicken or Ribeye Steak or the French Dip, I could pretty much rattle off the whole menu. The food is great, the waitresses are awesome. They keep your glass topped off. Just a great restaurant. read more

Like most restaurants these days, short staff and over priced. Took a very long time for the food to come out and prices were very high. The service was good which was their saving grace. I recommend if you're in a hurry, do not go to this place. Or maybe go during non peak hours read more

Got here at lunch time. Ordered the meatloaf and hot beef sandwich. Awesome. Service was fast, pleasant and efficient. Ambiance was a classic hiway 99 sort of establishment. Restroom was clean. Try it out, lots better than a chain restaurant or burger joint. read more

Classic retro steakhouse diner. Friendly attentive service, Thank you John. Old school dinning room. Delicious food with great portion sizes. Hubby's pork chops were moist and delicious with crisp fries and green beans with bacon and onion. My BLT pasta had a wonderful cream sauce with plenty of bacon, tomato and sautéed spinach mixed into the pasta. A wonderful find along the road. Wouldn't hesitate to stop again when we are back in the area. read more

Stopped in after a long day in Fresno on our way home. I ordered the BLT pasta and it was very good. Bacon, spinach, tomatoes, and pasta very good Husband ordered the meatloaf he enjoyed it and he's very picky with any food he orders he thought it would be served with gravy on top instead it had tomato sauce which he hates so he just moved it aside. He's lost he should have asked before ordering in my opinion. Anyway we enjoyed our food will stop in again if ever in this neck do the woods Oh and the Pepsi was so good taste like the real Thing not the watered down version most restaurants serve I could have drank 10 cups nonissue but I was so full I only had 1 read more

The food has absolutely improved here and I've tried a variety including this Mile High Grilled Cheese. Flavor is amazing see the melted cheese and thousand island dressing with the ham, turkey and crisp bacon, all on a crusted cheese bread. Heavenly and so large could only eat half which means 2 meals for the price. read more

The food was just ordinary. Nothing to write home about. Service was good, food came out in a timely manner, it was just not exciting.

Food and drinks were great! Services was awesome. The Waitress was so sweet and helpful.

I used to spend a lot of time on road trips and this is the type of place we would stop by. Not the most up to date but the staff is friendly, the food is perfect, and the price is right. I am guessing a lot of people stop here on their way to the next stop. If you are driving by I would recommend the stop. The only thing I found that is a problem is no kids changing stations in the bathroom. Small problem for sure. read more

I had the California burger with garlic fries and my brother had the porterhouse with veggies and fries. Mine was amazing. I highly recommend the garlic fries. He enjoyed the steak and fries but he doesn't do veggies so those don't get a review. Try this place. I hope you enjoy it too. read more

April was my server and she did such a great job, service was amazing 10/10 will come back again!

I loved the homestyle country cooking here. Got to try the homemade meatloaf and it melted in your mouth. Also tried the cowboy special which was a 12oz ribeye steak with baked potatoes and green beans with bacon like mom used to make and hobo soup which was similar to a beef stew. Had plenty of left overs. Also the BLT pasta was so flavorful. The bacon was thick and juicy. The best was the bread pudding with ice cream. So smooth and the caramel drizzle was perfect. Nice place to stop and relax. Will be back soon read more

The biscuits and gravy had lots of flavor. For my beverage, I had a large orange juice and black coffee. The service here was friendly. I highly recommend. read more

Service was so slow it was ridiculous. Food is average at best, and the prices are way too high for what you get. I have eaten here 3 times in the past year, and this has been a consistent issue even when the place isn't busy. Last time there were literally 7 people in the place it took forever to get a server to our table, then forever to get our drink order, then forever to get our food, then once we were finished we were not getting our bill and I had to hunt down the waitress so we could pay and get to a meeting (which of course we were late to). read more
