My group almost walked by this outdoor establishment but decided to stop in to grab a quick bite. The wait to be seated at a table was a bit lengthy so we decided to sit at the bar. The bartender that eventually came to get our order was a bit...grumpy. At some point, a different bartender, Dante, began to focus on our area and the service improved significantly. Thank goodness for that! I ordered the calamari and a glass of champagne, both were good. If we were to return, we would definitely request Dante.

The friendliness of the host was the deciding factor on stopping here. Located right on the walkway of the pier and perfectly located, I decided to stop after the friendly invitation. I just wanted a quick bite before heading back uptown. Sitting right on the pier, the patio faces the east so you have a nice view of the pier, the water, the boats, the people walking by and the other side of the pier. Lovely environment. Friendly staff, great environment. I tried the oysters which were delicious. This was a nice visit.

Service started horribly. Group of 4 sat at the bar and the bartender seemed flustered and he'd rather be anywhere, but there. Ignored us to the point, if we weren't in time constraints with limited options, we would've left. Thankfully, Dante came in to save the day especially since the original bartender forgot to make our drinks. The calamari was OK. New York prices, but that's expected. I wish the service was better so we could've enjoyed more items from the menu

Overall really nice experience! Glad we made a reservation for our group of 3 for an early sat night dinner, the place was poppin. Very quick and friendly service! The food was great- the fish in the fish and chips was actually perfect, the breading was thin and crispy and the fish inside moist with a perfect texture. Caviar tater tots was a win, and I loved the big pickle so much! My companions were pleased with their lobster BLTs, they looked great. Definitely a solid spot!

I think it's a cute place to have a quick bite and drink outside, especially for people watching along the greenway. The location definitely is a large sell for the place and would be the only pull for me to return again. We had the fish and chips and the calamari. Both were pretty standard I would say; they tasted good. Their zero-proof drinks were pretty good though, albeit pricy. I tried the Watermelon Mint Limonata which was good. One thing that was kind of annoying was that you couldn't ask another server for assistance. We couldn't find our server anywhere, and we wanted to order cake. We flagged someone else down, who told us that she couldn't put the order in for us because she wasn't our server. I haven't really encountered that before. And then when we finally found our server he said the cake would take less than 10 minutes to come out so we ordered it but it ended up taking 15-20.

We came here for dinner at sunset and it was honestly just about perfect. The crab dip was meatier than most I've had and actually didn't feel overpriced for the size of the portion. Same for the lobster salad sandwich, salad and fries. The views were great and despite being crowded, it didn't feel too noisy and the service was good. Would recommend- definitely make a reservation though.

Truly a NYC gem, impeccable vibes- excellent waitstaff, beautiful views especially at sunset, fun vibrant music, and of course great food. Casual but upscale. Food and drinks came out quickly. We ordered the crab dip, lobster blt, and side of fries, everything was fresh, delicious and well seasoned. Lobster BLT for $27, and a small side salad is not terrible! Our waitress, Emily - even though it was her first day - she made sure to answer all of our questions and she was such a pleasure! Although there are no bathrooms or indoor space, it is close enough to public bathrooms.

Came for the oysters and the view. Oysters were very good. The watermelon cocktail was delicious. The Caesar was okay, I was disappointed that the shrimp came out cold. There also wasn't enough dressing. A good spot for oysters, cocktails, and watching the sunset.

First time at Drift In and won't be my last. The service was great, and the staff was attentive and friendly. The cocktail was delicious and wound up having two. The shrimp was good, and I love both sauces that came with the shrimp. The fried chicken sandwich and fries were cooked and tasted perfect . I wanted to try some other menu items. However, I was full between both drinks and food. Much love to the staff and the manager Jason for making my experience at Drift In memorable.

Never been here before. Very friendly off the peer. Great location, restroom right next-door. The waiting time did not take long. The food was amazing. We had a salad that had heart of a palm never heard of that, but that was freaking amazing and delicious oysters. A little on the expensive side, but they were amazing. And my lobster sandwich was freaking good. Never had a green tomato. I definitely will go here again. it does have a small menu.

Oysters were fabulous and fresh but the tomato and watermelon salad was not as fresh. The sauce was a bit light but I liked the herbs. The triple filtered water was $1.5 each person for charity water! prime location for after a run.

Drift In is a lovely, outdoor, riverside establishment in the West village of New York City. My mom and I were exploring the West village one evening and I thought it would be nice to have drinks by the water and watch the sunset. The sunset was absolutely fabulous sinking down behind the buildings in New Jersey on the other side of the river. The ambiance of Drift In at this time of day was absolutely charming, with the vibrant sunset across the river and the string lights illuminating the venue as twilight falls. We were lucky in that we walked up on a Saturday evening without a reservation, and managed to get a table within 15 minutes. I would however recommend a reservation if you are planning on eating dinner here. The place was pretty busy and the bar was full but it quieted down around 9:30 p.m. We drifted in just for drinks and apps, and though the menu was quite small the selections sounded tasty. The cocktails were quite good and I suspect they change seasonally, because the ones on selection when we were there were quite fruity and seemed like summertime cocktails. I got the Tropicalia, which is a watermelon and vodka cocktail. Very refreshing and tangy in it's simplicity. For food, we went with the caviar tater tots. This is an absolute must if you stop at Drift In! The perfectly crisp tater tots are a hearty helping, definitely enough for two people to share, and are served plain with the caviar and accompaniments on the side. The caviar is trout caviar, and the accompaniments are sour cream and pickled onions. To die for. I will say that Drift In is rather expensive, with the cocktails ranging from $15 to $20, and food ranging from $15-$35. The more casual vibe of Drift In would lead me to believe the prices would be cheaper, but at the same time it's a waterfront restaurant in the middle of Manhattan, so high prices are not shocking. If you're looking for a more upscale or romantic type of ambience or dining experience, I would look elsewhere, but I would definitely recommend Drift In if you're meeting up with a friend or two for a casual drink or a light meal, especially if your plans fall during sunset and the weather is nice!

    Watermelon mocktail

We popped into Drift In around 7:30pm on a Sunday without a reservation and luckily there was lots of seating. The outdoor vibes are great with the hanging lights and it's in a great location. However, we had major issues with our service. After being seated it took 15 minutes to get any waiters' attention with two even ignoring us after asking us for help. We finally were able to order. The watermelon mocktail was good, the cocktail wasn't to our liking. The key lime pie was a miss for us, it's not worth it. It was more like an ice box cake than actual key lime pie. Our main server was MIA the whole time so we finally paid with someone else and then our server chased us down when we left saying we hadn't paid and wouldn't verify it with their colleague we paid. Something was off on service this night. Overall the vibe here is nice if you're looking for a drink outdoors by the waterfront but I wouldn't have high expectations for food or service.

The ambiance feels straight of the golden age, which is an aesthetic I'm certainly a sucker for. Even their robust cocktail menu fits the bill and is one of the prettiest menus I've ever had the joy of perusing. Staff was able to sit us a little bit ahead of our reservation which was also much appreciated. Wait staff was also very helpful and attentive, I don't think I've ever had my water glass so topped off! Starting off with cocktails, this place is a gin bar through and through and you'd be making a mistake if you didn't try one of their many options. I went with the 10,000 words, which you simply just give a spirit of your choice (I picked gin of course) and whether you antes) wanted your drink shaken or stirred and the bartender does the rest, so a bit of a surprise! I wound up with their version of The Last Word which was delightfully citrusy but I was hoping I'd wind up with something a little more adventurous app things considered. My girlfriend got the blackberry G&T, which was not only very pleasing to look at but delicious to boot. For food, we started with splitting some zucchini blossoms and beef cheek bao buns (both come in portions of 3). Both were tasty, but I love a good bao bun and these were so light and pillowy, I could have just went for an order of those for my main course. For the entree I went for the roasted half chicken, perhaps the most unassuming choice on the menu but this was maybe the best roast chicken I've ever had. Prepared perfectly, cooked to perfection, excellent portion size, and the kicker of it all was the stunning gravy that I was tempted to lick my plate for. Chicken is very easy to screw up, and they nailed it on all fronts here. My girlfriend went for the Valerie Signature burger with white cheddar and this thing did not mess around! A very rich patty, cooked to her temperature of choice served alongside some garlic truffle fries that made an American classic feel just a little more elevated. Our experience was delightful and I'd love to comeback here again, especially to check out more of the cocktail menu and soak in more of that golden age aura the place gives.

Our friends raved about this place and we of course were excited (and a bit skeptical at first) to try it. The concept: no menu + no lights + a few questions = the ultimate cocktail experience. The speakeasy vibe and the dark ambiance really makes this place feel even more exclusive. With just a few tables and the bar setting, you're in for an experience you won't forget (unless you answer the wrong questions and really end up with a drink you don't like HA). This wasn't my case. Of course I described my two favorite things: Negroni + mezcal. The obvious answer would be a mezcal Negroni, but that's not why one comes to a place like Attaboy. Our amazing curator came by to ask us all a few questions, write down a few words in the napkins, and mix up the perfect drink that our master bartender crafts, curates and creates. My drink came as I couldn't possibly imagine. It looked like a Negroni smelled like Oaxaca, with all the smoke simmering up and preparing my sensory experience, leading to the best first sip. Ladies and gentleman, I introduce you to The Devil's Backbone. A perfectly balanced drink I'll never forget, one that is sipped slowly and enjoyed thoroughly. It's sexy, it's smoky it's sipped. Attaboy gave the best mixology experience and we can't wait to be back. Pro tip: be sure to be as vocal as possible, even with ice, so you don't end up with a tiki drink if that's not your vibe.

At first, I thought this was going to be a dance party but soon realized that it was going to be a craft party instead. There was a station for making your own broom, one to make a friendship bracelet, and another one for letter writing along with sealed wax to use on the envelope with different stamps. I sipped away an Old-Fashioned in my souvenir Wicked cup while singing along to the Wicked soundtrack and making a friendship bracelet for my daughter. This experience was relaxing and joyful so now I know my type of party consists of a craft night. Close to the end of the night, I participated in a Wicked costume contest. I lost but nevertheless, I had a good time. Ended the night with an order of burger before heading home to show off my creations. I can't wait to check out their other events and come here again!

Mood lighting, comfortable seating, great drinks in a cozy and Victorian-inspired space are the perfect blend of unique and. I always felt like I was part of something special the few times enjoyed creative, delicious, and strong libations from the pros at the bar. While it has always been pricey, I do feel like the excellent service ambiance, and drink quality warrant this, but may prevent more folks from becoming regulars so to speak. I could tell you to look for the blue beaker sign that says "Chemist" but the better tell is the random guy sitting on a stool outside. He'll be the only person on the street, so no worries about missing him! The menu has changed over the years, but the quality has not. The bartenders are social and personable. And the prices are in line for the area. My bestie and I loved the vibe. One of the best speakeasies she's had the pleasure of experiencing. Don't miss out on this place!
