I made a reservation and requested an outdoor table. I showed up on time with my elderly mother (who's high-risk) and the manager (Samantha?) was glad to see us decline a 30-minute wait to sit at the table we requested with our reservation -- and confirmed the day prior at the restaurant's request. I will never recommend or patronize a business that snuggly dismisses their customers. This was to be a repeat visit but instead we left and I'm now sharing this experience with readers. If you value your time and want a basic amount of customer respect, I can't recommend Drift. read more

But I was fortunate enough to have a phenomenal server at the Drift restaurant in the Opal Grand Resort in Delray Beach, FL recently who simply must be recognized publicly. Her name is Liza. and she was phenomenal. So, I wanted to take a moment to compliment the service I received from her during my visit. The restaurant, while not at capacity, was still quite busy, and she was fantastic, never seeming overwhelmed or too occupied to meet the needs of, not only me, but her other customers as well. I always appreciate a server who does a great job, and Liza handled my table with a perfect display of relaxed competence. She was extremely polite, knowledgeable and very friendly. Though she had other tables, too, she always made sure I didn't need anything. She was prompt, smart, caring, and knowledgeable about the menu and wine. Plus, she just had this friendly demeanor about her that made me feel very comfortable, even though I was dining alone. By the end of my dinner, I said to myself, "She's the best server I have ever had ... ANYWHERE." Thank you Liza, for your wonderful service. read more

Wonderful atmosphere, from gorgeous wood bar to views of the ocean. Service is superb and welcoming from the moment you arrive. Great selection of house drinks wine and beer. Pretty restaurant in beautiful redone hotel. Lively bar. The service was good and the food was good but the menu is very limited.

This is one of my favorite places to eat. It is a beautiful surrounding. They have a lovely outdoor area and the food is terrific. You can use the hotel parking valet, which makes life so easy when you're eating in Delray on Atlantic Boulevard. We had great service, and were greeted with a smile by the hostess. Love love love everything about Drift!!! It's new and they are working out the kinks but Wayne our waiter, was exceptional.. we actually had him twice .. he was attentive..he even remembered my husband's drink!! We have visited Drift 3 times now and have never been disappointed!! The fire pits are so pretty, the heaters allow for comfortable outside dinning and the inside restaurant is just so beautiful and well designed! The food and drinks Were absolutely delicious... perfect cosmopolitan!!! It's location at the Opal Grand is situated at a section of Atlantic Ave that is very easy to park... not congested like other areas of the Avenue. Highly recommend!! read more

The venue is great but the operation in terms of accepting and honoring reservations, waiter service is sub par. Food is generally OK. This restaurant has the potential to be very special if the staff is ever trained. We made a reservation 2 weeks in advance and upon arrival they had no record of it. Great new addition to Atlantic Ave! We sat outside on a recent week night. Food and service were both very good. We had eggplant spread, which was slightly under salted but still good. Appreciate the salt shaker on the table which made for an easy fix. Brussels sprouts had good flavor but were a little over cooked. Mushroom flat bread and fish tacos were both very good as well. Our server paced the meal well and was very available. We will return! read more

Having walked or driven by Drift for the last year since it opened we finally decided to give it a try. Disappointed is an understatement. The ambience and service from Liza was five stars but what transpired during dinner is unforgivable. I ordered the steak frites (medium) and my brother in law asked for the rack of lamb (medium). When it came out, both dishes were overcooked. We pointed this out to our server who whisked the meals away and apologized. When she returned 5 or so minutes later she was accompanied by the General Manager Danielle. Who turned on her phone flashlight and tried to prove her point that the food WAS medium but we just couldn't see it in the lighting. After this spectacle and most of the restaurant now gawking at us we were told to eat our meals or wait 30mins for them to re-make our meal. We just took our plates back. Our meals were now cold and what might have been enjoyable was ruined. Ironically, the table next to us also ordered the rack of lamb and asked for a new meal after his was over cooked as well. He was not subjected to Danielle's flashlight. As Delray locals, we will not be returning and will strongly recommend other family and friends to spend their money elsewhere. read more

Made a reservation for Valentine's Day. When we arrived we were told it was a set menu (specifically made for Valentine's Day) that we had to order off of. This was not shown when I originally made the reservation. We were very disappointed when our waiter told us we had to order from the menu. However, toward the end we realized other people were ordering items not shown on the special occasion menu, like pizza. The food was decent, but nothing I would go back to eat again. Recently renovated last December. The renovation design gets five stars for sure! We had a reservation requesting a table inside. After a little confusion between the two hostess we were brought to a table outside because the other hostess was a little confused. We ended up at a table near the bar that is first come first serve anyway it didn't matter really. We started with a shrimp cocktail that was excellent with good presentation and cooked to perfection! I ordered the grouper entrée which was served over mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. Very good as well. My wife ordered a half portion of a pasta with chicken and mushrooms which she said it was the perfect amount and had great flavor. Will definitely return. read more

What a great menu and food preparations. The menu is unique & creative while also offering nightly specials. Overall, a really lovely place in a fabulous location. Here are a few suggestions to make it even better. Remove appetizer plates before trying to place entree at each setting. If a child is accompanying the group, be sure the table where group is seated has enough room to add the booster or high chair comfortably. Offer more of a selection of desserts to the nice selection of dessert drinks and coffees. read more

This place was aesthetically pleasing inside and out. Our server Lindsey was great and very accommodating to our needs. The mussels with the chorizo were our absolute favorite appetizer. The smoky 75 and Milagro Silver Cloud Margarita were a battle of which drink was the better one. And don't get me started on the Drift burger. Definitely worth every penny. read more

Great ambiance with deck/outdoor seating. My Pablo crusted veal chop was prepared perfectly and the lobster bisque was very flavorful with chunks of lobster. The creamy feta appetizer with zatar crisps was also very good. Only negative was having to ask for bread, ask for water refills and the manager turning the fans on which blew right on us. We went there to eat lunch. We waited over an hour for our food, and asked the server to check on the food after 45 minutes. He told us that it would be up shortly. We waited another 15 minutes only to learn that our order wasn't put in. The manager was aware of the problem and didn't come over to explain so we left. So disappointin!! read more

This restaurant has the potential to be awesome. Great atmosphere and outdoor dining area. Drinks were horrible. My husband ordered Woodford. Not sure what he got but it wasn't Woodford Reserve. I ordered a cosmo which contained little or no vodka and prepared mixer. Food was great. Several apps - mussels, wedge salad and the eggplant spread, Two different fish entrees, a burger and lamb chops. All delicious! Server started out good but then fell apart. We ordered a bottle of wine that never came. Server never came by for us to find out why for 45 minutes. We tracked her down. We cancelled wine. Burger came out after 45 minute inquiry. Server told us they were busy. Hope they work out the kinks. We will try again. read more

Dinner was awful..burgers came well done and dry. Fries were cold...service was awful.

The setting is beautiful and the friends I went with for dinner were happy with the menu and their food. However if you are vegan or vegetarian and do not eat dairy, there are NO main dishes for dinner. I spoke to a manager and he said he is aware of the lack of options, but "you know how chef's are". I would love to go again, but unless there are additions to the menu, I can't return. read more

Came hoping to get lunch only to be disappointed that they only have a select menu between specific hours which was not mentioned anywhere online. We decided to still stay anyways. Let me start off by saying I've never been greeted by the most pretentious hosts in my life, which made me feel uncomfortable but still wanted to give this place a shot. We ordered the margarita flatbread which just seemed to be more like a cheese pizza. Along with the eggplant dip. I for warn anyone that decides to order this, but this just taste like hummus my husband claims to have gotten a hint here and there of eggplant but I cant seem to get it. Do note the veggies on this platter are note pickled as they would be anywhere else they are just colored. For these reasons I give the place a 2 star rating and will not be back. read more
