Made sure during our two night stay in Delray Beach that we stopped by this pub. Been to a few other of the "Help Yourself" beer from the wall coolers which is an interesting trendy concept. Sat at the tiny bar with the beer taps almost in my reach. The bartender went over the eight craft beers on tap. Wanted a hazy beer so chose the Late Start Brewing Sunset Junkie 6.5%. Happy Hour on Fridays offered $2.00 on All Beers which is a nice discount. It was ice cold and was the perfect complement to my big salty pretzel sticks. Love the hardcore beer placards fastended to the walls but the beer coolers were surely the focal point of the room. Nice covered patio overlooking the sidewalk with more beer decor. The gender neutral bathroom was clean with a continued beer placard decor and an unexpected modern look. read more

Beer Trade Co is such a cool, chill, local gem. Super casual with a wide selection of beers (and a few wines) and good food. We ate there on a Friday night and it was not too crowded. They have small tables under an outside covered deck area, a few indoor tables, a small bar and most notably, a HUGE fridge where you can peruse and grab whatever canned beer calls to you (and I think a few on tap). It is a candy store for beer lovers who like the freedom to choose from among dozens and dozens of brands. Food-wise, we got the (cheese) burger, which tasted great with the blend of brisket, short rib, and chuck meat, with a great slaw, and the pulled pork sandwich, which overall tasted a bit sweet, and a side of the BTC boardwalk fries. We also had the blackened mahi bowl which was my favorite. We order a bottle of wine with a cooler bucket. Most of the other patrons seemed to be eating the chicken wings. The Ave has become so upscale and expensive - I'm glad that there are still more casual, reasonably priced, all around great comfort food choices like the Beer Trade Co. Very happy to see a craft beer pub off Atlantic Ave. This place had a nice patio but it was so cold out we chose the inside bar. The bartender was very talkative and poured a cold hazy beer that was on the happy hour menu. The pretzel sticks were gigantic and the dip was tasty. A perfect meal with a cold beer. What a great place in Delray! The huge beer selection is serve yourself. Keep your empty cans and bottles on your table, then bring them up to the counter at the end to pay. We sat outside on their covered patio that is dog and child friendly. For food, a server comes to your table to take the order. If you're a mushroom lover, I recommend mushroom bacon dip. This was the wildest neatest place. You start by picking your drink from the cooler. Then you sit down at a table and the waitress brings the menu. The lunch menu was very reasonable. Honestly, the entire menu was reasonable for the cost of the food. There is no pressure in how long you spend there either. It's just a super chill, laid back kind of place. If you want a refill, just go grab another from the cooler. There is a beer holder at each table to put your finished drinks in. Once your done, you take your finished beverages to the bar to cash out, They had about 4 open door coolers of beer to choose from. (Think of the coolers at a gas station where you open the door.) It's a pretty wide selection with all kinds of beers. They even had a nonalcoholic beer. There was a cooler of wine too. Within 1 cooler were the nonalcoholic drinks: soda, unsweetened tea, and water. One of the drawbacks is there are no free refills on the nonalcoholic drinks. That's not a terrible thing though. The food was good. My fries were a little cool (not quite cold) but they were still good. My tacos were fantastic though! The seasoning on the burger was great. It was very tasty. The service was a little slow, but super friendly and helpful. I think it's part of the laid back approach/feel to the restaurant. Excited to find a new Delray spot that recreates Old Delray, I lived here in Delray back in the 1970s while attending FAU, and loved the vibe back then. Nomad Surf shop was a go-to place, and Beer Trade Co. is headed in that vibe direction. The wings were great; I tried the hot honey Old Bay choice which were Spicy, crispy and moist at the same time and definitely considerably larger than the pigeon-sized parts found at most spots today. Our last visit was awful, which is crazy because we are regulars who often come for the beer and wings. These wings were fried naked(no breading) but had a unique flavor called old bay (seasoning) honey . The old bay seasoning was kinda like a dry rub on the wings and of course the stickiness of the honey binds the seasoning to the wings. Note: make sure you communicate if you want your wings to be fried hard or soft. This flavor I selected was good, but wouldn't mind trying a different flavor. A few things that make them unique: -patrons go directly to the coolers and get their own drinks. - patrons put their empty bottles & cans in the available drink caddy and take them to the counter when they are ready to check out. We enjoyed the casual atmosphere at Beer Co. And appreciated that they weren't overwhelmed with a super busy dinner atmosphere @ 5 pm. We could enjoy eating on the patio on a beautiful evening in February. The servers were so friendly and chill. This could be a pretty cool lil hangout with friends if you were local. The Happy hour selection was really good and Mondays burger for $8 is a pretty phenomenal deal. We actually went for the food not the spirits. My hubby ordered a hamburger and fries. Now he has eaten his fair share of hamburgers, and the 1/2 lb. Beer Co. Burger would be judged as one of the best ever, in his humble opinion. The plenteous fries were so tasty and well-seasoned.
