Dreamette is the stuff of legends--a Murray Hill staple that's been serving up happiness since, well, practically the dawn of time. (Okay, maybe not that long, but long enough to perfect the art of ice cream.) First things first: bring cash! This charming time capsule doesn't do plastic, and honestly, that's part of its old-school charm. On a humid Florida day, you'll likely find a line stretching out front, but trust me, it's worth it. Think of it as the universe's way of making you savor the anticipation. When you finally get your hands on that luscious, creamy goodness, you'll realize it's not just ice cream--it's an experience. Even the pickiest ice cream snob would have to admit: this place is the real deal. Seating? Let's just say it's not Dreamette's strong suit. But who cares? There's a few tables but we grabbed our treats and embraced the tradition of driveway ice cream. There's something about eating ice cream in your car or perched on the bumper that makes it taste even better. Bonus: no judgment when you accidentally wear half of it on your face. A word of caution: your eyes may be bigger than your stomach. These portion sizes are not for the faint of heart. That "medium" cone? It's basically a dairy skyscraper. Go ahead and challenge yourself--you're living your best life, after all. If you haven't been to Dreamette, do yourself a favor and get over there STAT. Your taste buds will thank you, your diet will cry, and your soul will be very satisfied. Long live Dreamette ice cream!

After seeing this place on many TikToks, thought we might as well try it. On a rainy Thursday 5PM- absolutely no line. Had our food within 5 minutes. Friendly staff. I've never seen so many options for dipped cones! I really loved the PB dip. Other than that, I thought ice cream tasted the same as everywhere else's soft serve. The portion sizes are crazy! I ordered the SMALL and it was basically the same height as my fiancés hand. This is great, other than I'm lactose intolerant and really just wanted a taste. Cute little shop. Happy we made the detour to stop here.

Yummy softserve with so many options! Line moves quick so don't be tricked! The workers are super nice! Plenty or parking or I always walk over. Benches to sit and a sink to wash your hands which is great if you have littles! Prices are very affordable

One of the 'Must Visit' places in Jacksonville. I grew up near Dreamette, and this is always a place to go back when I visit. It is the best soft-serve ice cream you could ever want. While I grew up getting the dip cones, there is something for every palette. Take a minute to watch people walk away to see what they've gotten. You'll hear, "Oooh, what's that?" but you'll also never go wrong with just a plain cone. On a recent visit, before we left town, we stopped at Dreamette, and it became our lunch. I had never had the Blueberry Cobbler cup before, as I'd always had just the "basics," but my goodness, if this is available you need to get it! Be careful of the sizes you get, 'cause I guarantee it's bigger than you think it is. People look at the cup size and forget it's going to be swirled high! I know there are other locations, but this is the original, and therefore, will always be the best. Be sure to bring cash, and don't be surprised if you have to wait for a parking space.

Dreamette was such a wonderful find! When I moved to Jax, Murray Hill was the first neighborhood I explored. Inching up Edgewood Ave, I stepped back to the sixties and into a Jax Icon! Frozen custard - so smooth, rich & creamy - it's turned around many scorching Florida summer days and helped me stay cool. It's a walk up business. You order thru a window & wait for your order. No fancy seating (sometimes no seating), but the staff is always friendly and quick. They've recently opened a couple new shops, but I prefer going to the original. Hanging out on the corner, watching people from all walks of life smiling & enjoying their favorite Dreamette treat - life is simpler with a frozen cone in hand

***cash only*** Home town ice cream with its creamy thick goodness. This place is a local favorite but is quickly making a bigger name for itself. You will always find a line here. Got vanilla ice cream with a pie slice which was one of the best option in my opinion.

What can I say? Yummy, affordable. Just down home good, old-fashioned, soft serve ice cream. I stood in line in the rain, with many others who felt the same! I ordered the small and it was huge. Cash only!

This was our first time here and wow am I impressed! It reminds me of one of my all time favorite ice cream places from home so I am thrilled. The ice cream was delicious, reasonably priced and HUGE! We got mediums and definitely will get small next time. The line was wrapped around the building so I definitely know they are well loved. The line moved quick and the guy taking orders was super friendly and kind. We will definitely be back!

*Cash only* I love old school ice cream shops and Dreamette fires on all cylinders! Great ice cream and toppings, fast service, simple menu. I've had their shakes and sundaes which are both very good. I'd say the sundae would be my first choice. Their chocolate ice cream is creamy, smooth and delicious. As far as toppings my absolute favorite is their cookie dough. They use raw cookie dough here and wow, is it blow you away amazing! The Heath is also a great option as are the crushed Oreos. One thing is for sure, they don't skimp on the toppings. The line can get long at times but the wait isn't too bad and it's always worth it! Give them a try if you're in the mood for simple yet epic ice cream.

We've been coming here for 15 years now. It's always been our go to place for celebrations with our kids. The ice cream is so creamy and tastes amazing. I love getting the dipped cones and they have so many flavor options. There are always the sweetest young ladies to take your order and make your ice cream behind the counter. It reminds me of my childhood because of the atmosphere and I'm here for it. When we went there were a bunch of middle school aged kids having our after school. It made my husband and I smile because they were just enjoying time at the ice cream shop together.

Even with COVID going around, it's not stopping anyone from getting a delicious scoop of perfectly soft served ice cream from their favorite oldest ice cream spot. I have gone there a few times and there is always a line wrapped around the building of people waiting to get their fill and boy, it's worth it. Accepting cash only, you have your choice of vanilla, chocolate, strawberry or swirl with your choice of toppings, dips, or milkshakes. Definitely a great quick pit stop to get in your sweet tooth craving.

Our visit to Biscottis in Jacksonville's Avondale neighborhood managed to do both. We were greeted warmly when we arrived and seated immediately, and the atmosphere had a welcoming energy that made the restaurant feel like a true neighborhood gathering place. Susan ordered the Quiche Lorraine, and after the first bite we both knew it was something special. The crust was delicate and buttery while the filling was rich and perfectly balanced. It was so impressive that we awarded it our Culinary Duo Best of the Best dish recognition, which is something we reserve for truly standout dishes. Peter went in a different direction and ordered the Sweet Potato Pancakes with house made white cheddar hash browns. The pancakes were flavorful and comforting, and the hash browns were crispy with bold cheddar flavor that made them impossible to stop eating. Another thing we appreciated was learning that Biscottis carries the Slow Food First Coast Snail of Approval, recognizing restaurants that support sustainable agriculture and local food traditions. The service throughout the visit was cheerful and attentive, and the staff seemed genuinely happy to be there. If you enjoy restaurants that combine great brunch dishes, incredible desserts, and a lively neighborhood atmosphere, Biscottis is definitely worth visiting.

The burger is greasy/wet, it is drenched in a bland cheese sauce, the meat is underseasoned, and the patty has no sear. Definitely not worth anything near the $21 cost. The salmon BLT is served on bread that is cut so thick you're mostly just eating old/stale bread, and the sandwich is also greasy. Their french fries come drenched in a disgusting garlic oil and cheap grated parmesan. It's bad cooking dressed up to look fancy without any understanding of the basics. The restaurant fits as well. Its ugly artwork is accompanied by furniture that looks like it was ripped out of a Le Pain Quotidien. The cakes look amazing, and the bar is nicely designed and well stocked, but neither saves the drab surrealist-cafeteria vibe of this pretentious establishment.

It was a little bit of a drive away, near the beach, and there was absolutely no parking on a Friday night. My husband dropped me off and circled while I placed a few to go orders. It was a cute little shop with donuts, shakes, and ice cream. The donuts are not traditional donuts; more like deep fried donut holes that are covered with all kinds of yummy toppings. They're also served nice and hot and in 10 packs. They had lots of cool donut flavors like: Dark Delight, Maple Bacon, , White Tella, and Love U Matcha, The prices range from $8.75 to $9.50 per box. They all sounded yummy; but we decided on Twix Fix, drizzled with caramel, melted chocolate, and cookies, and Lotus Crunch, which was topped with melted Biscoff cookies. Our order was ready in about 5 minutes and the bag of donuts was nice and warm. We ate them when we got back home. They were more chewy and heavier than regular donut holes, but rich and delicious. You could really only eat a few; so a box of 10 is a decent sized dessert for 2 people to share. Lukumades is definitely a very unique donut experience and worth supporting because they're not a huge chain. You'll be glad you tried them....and its worth the drive.

I'd get this again, though probably trying the regular hot dog bun instead of the scallion one next time. I'd asked the server if she could reheat our items when I bought them, but she said no, and didn't seem to understand English well. So far, I've preferred the savory things to the sweets here.
