Walking in wasn't the warmest welcome. It was very uninviting. But as my daughter and I were ordering it got a little better and the young ladies warmed up and the service was good. It's a cute little spot right on the corner. They have a painted wall with bright colors and ice cream art. The ice cream I chose was coconut and my daughter got birthday cake with fruity pebbles. We got a small size cup that came with color changing spoons. This place has potential. We would definitely give it another try!

A black owned ice cream shop in the Springfield historic district. It has a commercial feel to it, not a mom and pop feel, except for the children's corner with a shelf stocked with a number of books. The artistic wall of ice cream was cool, but working in the signage realm for a living wouldn't let me ignore the fact that it wasn't seamless and the overlaying of panels was inconsistent, that's a personal thing though, it still looked great as an eye catcher and great for photo ops. The space was quite large, which probably added to the commercial feel. They had 24 flavors that I counted, wafer cones, sugar cones and waffle cones in addition to different cup sizes and banana split options. I got the Garbage Can, which was great, I mean, how do you go wrong with vanilla ice cream with 7 differenr candy bar chunks in it? Part of me wanted to double back and try the Chocolate Peanut Butter, but I held strong. My wife got the Banana Strawberry and really enjoyed it, which was banana flavored ice cream with actual strawberry chunks in it. It was the perfect treat for our slightly warm exploration through the district.

This is a scoop shop where they do not make their own ice cream but it has your classics. If I would go back I would probably just get the toasted coconut in a cup. I tried the banana split and I told her to go crazy with it and I threw away most of it because it was already melted. The staff was super friendly but I was not overall impressed by the finished product. I totally recommend bringing kids and having a small kids scoop.

During our weekly trip to different ice cream places we visited Springfield Scoops on 3/25/22. We were greeted and asked if we wanted to taste anything. We tasted a couple things then made our selections. Red velvet cake, Pistachio and Butter pecan. The service was good. They even have step stools for the little one to see inside the cooler.

Just recently tried out Springfield Scoops, and it was great! I've been looking for small, independently owned ice cream shops around Jacksonville, and was pumped to have gotten the opportunity to give Springfield Scoops a go. This was the most original, tasty, and modestly priced place around. I got two massive scoops, in a made-on-the-spot chocolate waffle cone for $8. Most places around here would give you half of that for a higher price tag. Very much recommend! read more

When you walk in, you immediately smell the wonderful smells of delicious churned ice cream. So many choices of creamy delicious ice cream. I decided to take my niece. She loved it. She decided to try the sherbet which was so smooth and tasty with all the delicious tropical flavors associated with sherbet. Tasty. I also love the fact that their are non diary options which is great for those with milk intolerance. I can't wait to come back and try more flavors. read more

I stopped by Springfield Scoops on a pleasant Sunday afternoon with my wife for some ice cream. The shop is fairly large with plenty of seating and immaculately clean. There's a reasonable selection of ice cream flavors, sundaes, and milkshakes. The staff that helped us was friendly and offered samples, and was also very pleasant to some little kids who came in with their parents while we were there. I had a cappuccino ice cream sugar cone, while my wife had strawberry ice cream in a cup. A small size was extremely generous: three scoops for about $3.50 in a cup, my sugar cone added on an extra 50 cents. There's no way that I would be able to finish a large cone without being uncomfortably stuffed. The ice cream itself was good, creamy and not too sweet, but nothing mind-blowing. Scoops is worth a stop if you're in the area and in the mood for a solid ice cream cone. read more

My daughters and I had the privilege of visiting Springfield Scoops today and I'm in awe at how incredible this shop is! Small yet comfortable. They have a vast array of ice cream choices and offer samples in case you're undecided. I decided on sticking with the basics but they have so many to choose from! This establishment has excellent service, quality of food, is clean, and is an enjoyable environment to have either a gathering or a solitary time to simply enjoy some ice cream. The prices are more than reasonable for the amount they give, and the fact that they allow samples is a huge plus in deciding what of their multitude of flavors one might choose to enjoy. Springfield Scoops is my weekly spot. It is a black owned Ice Cream shop with rotating flavors weekly. My usual is a build your own ice cream sundae and my go to flavors are: Birthday Cake, Cookie Monster, Superman, Garbage Can, Red Velvet, Apple Pie, Strawberry etc. I usually buy kid scoops for my family of Butter Pecan as that is a classic flavor that is made so perfect it doesn't taste real. This store has ice cream that barely melts if you are out and about. They have a point system to earn rewards too. The spoons are color changing which makes it more fun. Associates are mostly young but they are trained so well. It's a vibrant atmosphere and belongs on Springfield. The vibes are amazing. Colorful inside and super clean. Wear a mask when you walk in! Definitely try it out. I'm here weekly. I've even hosted a small get together of 8 people and they accommodated. Don't skip this place. Did I mention it's worth the money? Ok- I was so excited to try this and let me tell you I was quite disappointed. I got a waffle bowl with one (tiny!!) scoop and was shocked to find out it was 7$!! The scoop was so stingy and then there ended up being a black hair in it. I'm sorry great tasting ice cream but for the price and that experience I would not recommend. Two stars bc the ice cream actually tasted good nothing else. This pic is of my replacement ice cream after the hair was found. All I have to say is May Day got it. read more

One of my regular stops. Ice cream choices are plentiful. Lots of different flavors The staff are very nice and will always let you sample. If supporting an African-owned business is a priority, you're in luck. If you care about supporting small local businesses then definitely stop in and grab a scoop. read more

I've been eating a lot of ice cream my whole life and I think this is one of the best ice cream shops that I've ever encountered! There are 150 flavors of absolutely incredible ice cream. The shop is beautiful and clean and family oriented and open till 10 PM on Friday nights. Exceptional ice cream! read more

I was really looking forward to trying this quaint ice cream parlor! I am so disappointed!!! If I could leave ZERO stars, I would! The ice cream was completely flavorless. Prices are way to high, even if it were mediocre. I ordered a hot fudge sundae, with no nuts, add marshmallow ( thinking that one would replace the other...no. I was charged .60 for asking for a different topping other than nuts, which came on it and I cannot eat. THEN, I got home with the sundae and there were 5 mini-marshmallows on top. Not even marshmallow topping, like a true ice cream shoppe would have. The hot fudge wasn't hot, and again, was flavorless!! For $7.36, I could have bought ice cream from a grocery store that would've tasted 100% better! Save yourself the disappointment, and the money, and pass right by this place!!!!! read more

After enjoying a nice lunch, my daughter and I wanted some ice cream. I remembered hearing about a small business opening in Springfield and after driving by it once we found it. From the moment we entered, it was like being immersed in the sweet fragrance of a waffle cone. Excellent selection of ice creams, but I judge every ice cream shop by its milkshakes.; So double scoop for daughter and chocolate shake for me. First, the shake was terrific, had a nice chocolate flavor, and the consistency was perfect; now, my daughter had ordered two scoops, and let me tell you, that is a HUGE portion of ice cream.
