This place is fantastic! It's super easy to find, nice neighborhood, and plenty of parking. It's an awesome experience from the second you walk in door! The ambiance is perfect--very relaxing and peaceful. Shawn was there to greet me and super great the whole time. It was very clean and there was absolutely nothing to worry about. The float tank was one of the most incredible experiences I've ever had. I've struggled with depression and insomnia for a couple of years now and very few times felt complete relief of the depression, but I did in the float tank and for the rest of the day after! I've been meditating every day for the last six months at least 20 minutes a day, but usually not longer than 40 minutes. I did a 60-minute float and I could have easily gone another hour. Time didn't pass too quickly, or drag on. I was able to relax in a way I never have and get to a mental state I strive for every day in meditation. I love floating in the float tank! G. Is really friendly and makes you feel comfortable. I like the location and atmosphere. The experience is different than mostly anything. I've always loved floating in the ocean so i figured i would try this out. Since i am always over stimulated by noise, touch, and even light. I'm super aware of everything around me which leaves me constantly irritated and exhausted. Sensory deprivation seemed like the perfect thing for me. It is not for everyone, but i think everyone should try it out at least once. I like it so much that i signed up for the monthly float. Towels and ear plugs are provided. I am probably going to do a much longer review of how wonderful this place and the experience of floating is, but for now, this is it. First off, the guys who own dream float/work here are super friendly, caring, and down to earth. If you are a little weary about trying it out, they will totally make you at ease and comfortable with the whole thing. I had done lots of research before they even opened about how good floating is for you and all the great health benefits so I was pretty excited to finally get to try it out. And when I did...ahhhmazing! I LOVE it! I try to go as much as I can now because it helps to relieve body aches and pains and is so relaxing-you will probably fall asleep (and that's so great too when that happens!) and you will probably feel like you are in space...your body starts feeling weightless and everything is dark and quiet. No cell phones, traffic, people blabbing, etc...just peaceful bliss and your body is completely supported. Highly recommended for people in jobs with lots of noise, high stress, sports, and/or parents. It's a beautiful place to just "get away." *sidenote: lots of people are deficient in magnesium and it causes lots of health problems (look it up online)...when you get in the float tank, your skin is absorbing tons of magnesium from the high concentration of it in the Epsom salt, so, not only is it relaxing, but it's making you healthier! I have to say I had a pretty interesting experience today, one I hope to have again and again in the near future. Today, I floated for the first time! By "floated," I mean that I spent an hour in a flotation therapy tank. What it is essentially, is a sensory deprivation tank that's filled with water and epsom salt, which causes you to float. Every tank or pod is different, and depending on what kind it is, it can offer mood lighting, tiny lights resembling an outer space-type of experience, or just complete darkness. It sounds a little silly, but like they say, don't knock it until you've tried it. I was really nervous at first because I've never "floated" before, but when I got there, Sean welcomed me with such hospitality. He made sure I was comfortable with the space and also to pay attention to use and safety instructions, which he guided me through pretty well. He also knew his stuff; he seemed well-versed in floating and all that it involved. I got excited. The overall vibe of the place was peaceful. Think "Zen." I immediately felt calm and relaxed. I proceeded to the bathroom area, undressed, took a cold shower, dried off, and hopped into the flotation tank. The smell of the epsom salt was unmistakable because it was *pretty* strong. The key is to not touch your face or eyes once you've touched the water because it'll sting! In the introduction earlier, Sean also made sure to tell me that there was some water in a small bottle located on the wooden bench beside the tank to flush my eyes with in case I get some on my face or near my eyes. As soon as I got my bearings and was inside safe and sound, I put my head back and floated immediately. I was informed that you could float with the door open, partially open, or closed. Since it was my first time, I decided to leave it open. P.S.~ You can float in the nude or with a bathing suit :D I opted for the former lol. Hey, might as well make the most of the experience! haha. I digress. The space where the tank was situated exuded serenity, peace, and quiet. I had my own private tank, private bathroom, and shower. Towels were provided as well as makeup remover, contact lens solution, ear plugs, soap, shampoo and conditioner, as well as a place to put your personal belongings. I remember feeling like I was in a hotel and the space was all mine for however long I "rented" it. After my float, I was welcomed with a glass of green juice and water in the lobby/sitting area. I was told I could stay for as long as I wanted, to take in the serene space, the beautiful scenery outside, or read and relax. I almost didn't want to leave. P.S.~There is a waiver you have to sign before your first float. Understandable considering you'll be in water. read more

Years ago, on an inter-island flight, I read about Dream Float Hawaii in a Hawaiian Air magazine article and decided that some day I'll check it out. One of the best ways to reset yourself and recharge. You really get to unplug from the thoughts and feelings you have and when you get into the float tank and dissolve into meditation. The location is easily accessed and in a beautiful quiet neighborhood away from the bustle of the city below. The lounge waiting room is peaceful and comfortable with plenty of eye candy and eclectic reading if you want to preload your float experience. The facility is very accommodating and squeaky clean. I just had my first float session this morning. The environment is very clean, inviting, laid back like it should be. Geoff explained things thoroughly. After probably about 15 minutes or so of trying to decide the "best" for me, hatch up or down or partially open and what position to put my arms/legs, I finally totally relaxed and guess I relaxed enough or fell asleep because the next thing I knew, the music came on and 90 minutes had come and gone (huh??). It was nice after that taking in the view of the ocean in the distance in the antigravity chair that sits outside. I left there feeling very relaxed and even now 3-1/2 hr later, I still feel relaxed and my legs are kind of like jello which is good! It was an enjoyable experience and I would definitely do it again and I know the second time would be a charm because it would not be a new experience. I only wish it was closer to home. I don't write reviews so for me to write this review it took an experience that had to be extraordinary, so here goes. I did some research into float tanks and like most people probably found Joe Rogans podcasts. I was skeptical, but I'm open minded. Dream float Hawaii is very easy to find, lots of parking and a beautiful view. Geoff is extremely friendly, calming and just has an awesome presence. I met Geoff while he was instructing a yoga class, and his class was my absolute favorite out of any yoga instructors, period. Now for the experience. I have ADHD and can't shut off my brain, so I was worried that I wouldn't be able to relax and get the full experience, however that was not the case. I was so relaxed that I actually fell asleep a couple times throughout the session. I also have chronic back pain and herniated discs. The float session immediately eased my pain while I was in there. It was an awesome experience which is different I'm sure for everyone, and hard to describe, visions, sensations... It was an absolutely wonderful experience and I will be a customer for life! I recommend everyone try this experience at least once. read more

I see that this business is categorized as a day spa but I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea when they see that. When I hear "day spa" I think of a place that has massage, spa, sauna and other pampering type of services and this place doesn't. Now that my disclaimer is out of the way... I first heard about a sensory deprivation chamber from my friend in Vegas. He explained that you float in water but I really couldn't understand the concept or why the heck anyone would want to go into a contraption, just to float. I get it now. This is located in a room in the back of a house up Laukahi Drive on your way to Hawaii Kai. I didn't really know what to expect, except to have no expectations and to clear my mind and see what floats in (pun intended!). Since I practice yoga regularly and feel I find my zen and clarity there, I was wondering if I would have an even higher sense of heightened spirituality and meditation. I text Geoff to let him know that I was running a little late due to traffic (never a good way to feel rushed to go and calm down!) and he said it was no problem. When I arrived, he was waiting for me outside and since I'm typically a person who's very prompt, I felt bad. But his warm smile and calm presence quickly put me at ease. Geoff explained the process of what needed to be done...you shower first, dry off and then head into the chamber completely the same as when you were born...naked. It's a private room so there's no need for modesty. He explains that you're welcome to leave the door open, close it if you wish and pretty much do whatever is in your comfort level. I first sat in it to get a feel for it and when I realized I would probably be fine, I closed the hatch and began to float. It was the COOLEST feeling! No fear of not floating or anything else but I can see how people with claustrophobia or anxiety might feel apprehensive. I'm all about using the power of your mind to release your fears so it would be a good way to challenge yourself, if you can. My problem...OCD. I would want to ensure I was floating perfectly centered in the tank so I would spread my arms out and bounce from left to right until I settled and do the same stretched out with my arms above my head and my toes pointed. I know...absolutely zero mental strength there. But once I felt centered...I cleared my mind and tried to meditate. I really didn't have anything I wanted to seek clarity about so it became a conversation of, "are my eyes open or closed?" with myself. I would open my eyes wide and blink hard to know that they were open. It was really neat! Before I knew it, I had fallen asleep and the music, to let you know time is up, came on. Out of the tank I went, a drop of water from my hair ran into my eye and it stung like a mutha! Geoff warned about this and keeps a bottle of regular water to rinse out your eye out so was fine shortly thereafter. Back into the shower I went to rinse and wash off the salty water to finish out my experience. Overall it was a really great experience and I can't wait to get my next float on! After two floats I can easily give these guys 5 stars. The home/facility is beautiful, clean, and peaceful. I was made to feel like I could take my time, and go through the float experience however I needed to in order to feel comfortable. Jeff and Sean provide were easy to reach by phone and were very friendly and helpful. Jeff went above and beyond on my second float. The highway was shut down very close to where Dream Float Hawaii is due to a large fallen tree. Traffic was almost gridlock in the direction I was coming from. I could tell that if I kept sitting in the barely crawling traffic I wouldn't make my appointment on time so as soon as I could I parked on a side street and started walking the last mile to the location. I called Jeff to let him know about the highway shutdown, that I was walking, and that I was going to be late. He offered to drive down to the highway and shuttle me up the hill. He also shuttled me back down after. Awesome customer service! read more

I had the best experience at Dream Float Hawaii. I had my 1st float on Monday March 14th, & I had a true spiritual awakening. I have Fibromyalgia & I was looking for something to help me since I can't tolerate massages anymore without a flare up. I was really taking a leap of faith by trying out Dream Float Hawaii. I was so Shocked at how fast my pain level went down after floating, I started at a level 7-8 pain level & afterwards I was down to a 1-2. That to me was a true miracle! There aren't a whole lot of treatments for people like myself for my Fibromyalgia because I'm allergic to 80-90% of the drug therapies out there. Dream Float Hawaii restored my faith that there is help out there for the Fibromyalgia Community. If you have Fibromyalgia I highly recommend going & having a session so you can see how much better your quality of life will be by reducing your everyday pain. Everyone has the right to feel pain free. I really want to just hug the staff for understanding me & my condition. Floating has also helped my insomnia that was getting out of control too. I think everyone should float & experience this awesome feeling of euphoria. You really feel like your floating in a cloud full of bliss & the most peaceful ambiance ever created here on Earth. The interesting thing to me was that time felt different in there to me. I fell into a deep meditative state that felt like the best rest I have ever received. The staff was so spectacular & on top of everything. I also had a wonderful time talking to them. The facility was extremely well taken care of & smelled so good. I loved that fact that they had crystals all around the place to balance out my energy & chakras. I'm into crystals & chakras & I loved that they already catered to that need of their clients. So a little more information about my experience, the tank is a nice size in a large room. There's a bench & on the shelves they have crystals & a Tibetan Singing bowl & on the walls there is some beautiful artwork. On the sensory deprivation chamber you can leave the door opened or close it. I left it open, & the lights dimmed down low. It is very quiet once you completely emerge yourself in the water, I really appreciated the earplugs that they gave me & then you hear your heartbeat. I can see how the deprivation chamber can remind many people of being a baby in the womb, with the heartbeat sound & the feeling of weightlessness, it is a powerful experience. By the way Don't rub your Eyes at all, it will burn from the amount of Epson salt in the water, but if you do get the salty water in your eyes they have provided & tiny bottle of regular water to rinse the eyes out & continue to enjoy your session. I splashed myself on accident in my eye. Now after your session is over, if you want you can sit & just take in the moment, & I would recommend standing outside & taking in that phenomenal view, it's like a beautiful panorama view of half the island and it's right there in your face oh so beautiful. In closing I really have fallen in love with the session & can't wait to get back in there next week. I humbly thank the team at Dream Float Hawaii, you are doing God's work here on Earth. If you're thinking about participating in sensory isolation stop thinking about it and just do it already! First I think it is important to try all non medical therapies it is usually better and less expensive. This was truly one of the most relaxing experiences in my entire life. Felt like I was being reborn at the end when I came out of the tank. You can schedule on their website but make sure to schedule about two weeks prior to the date you want as they fill up pretty fast I work during the week so I like to to stuff on the weekends to really enjoy it. After schedule they follow up with a call or at least they called me to confirm. you also get a follow up email giving you directions. I ended up going the day of the marathon so a bit of traffic but no big deal they were very accommodating. It is actually really easy to find and like they said there is ample street parking, as it is a residential area. Nice quiet with a great view in the back yard (not that it really matters since you'll be in the tank) I just think it's a nice touch. The only word that really comes to mine would be zen. Very peaceful and nice to look at. You don't get that a hole in the wall feeling. This was my first time and I was greeted by Sean I believe that was his name anyways. He was waiting for me outside with a friendly orange tabby by his side. I thought it was a nice touch lol. Sean directed me to the back where we enter a waiting room area if you have any questions he goes over everything from beginning to end. Very cal and relaxing very hippy meets Buddhist vibe. He shows you to the room where the tank is and explains the tank and that you shower before and after. They provide everything even petroleum jelly and ear plugs for the float! He leaves you to it. I forgot to put my ear plugs in and I still have water in my ear after two days lol my bad. Onto the experience itself. I chose to use the head flotation device just because I knew there was a chance of me falling asleep and i didn't know if my head would turn lol. I got in and I chose to close the door to the tank. I laid back and tried the different positions Sean suggested and I rally had a hard time at first I kept moving my mind was racing and about half way through (I'm guessing because I really lost track of the existence of time in there) I finally found my position. To sooth myself I first swished my head back and forth focusing on the sound it made and it helped me meditate and become one with my surrounding. Because the water is so warm you lose track of where your body ends and begins. So essentially you are a blob the only think that exists is your mind and during this time you gain control of that and you get closer to yourself and really focus on how you operate. By the end of it I honestly don't know if I was sleeping or if I was experiencing a new level or calm. I was in this state until I was gently woken up by the sound of music. I got out feeling refreshed. I took my shower gathered by belongings and met sean back on the couch where he had room temperature water and cold juice waiting for me. We chatted about the experience and then he said to hang out as long as I wanted. I finished my drinks he took my payment (I suggest paying before you get there online) then I left to go on about my life. They have really good plans that you should take up I'm going to get a plan. For $40 a month you can get one 90 minute float if you don't use it one month you can use it another month or transfer it to someone else. At lease that's my understanding(: All in all try it out!!!!!! read more
