I lucked out and found parking right across the street. As you walk down the ramp you see a nice lawn, 2 story large house and the barrel. I happen to go on the day that the run club meets later that evening so there was an ice bath in front. We are welcomed with a warm smile and the host answers all of our questions on all of their services: sauna, cold plunge, red light therapy and IV drip. He handed us towels and escorted us to our section. We opt and go for the contrast therapy. I wasn't sure what to expect since this is my first time but the combination of heat in the sauna and cold in the ice bath is a game-changer. He recommended that we do the sauna for 15-25 minutes then 3+ minutes in the ice bath. Our section is a beautiful oasis. As you walk through the gate there are black stones and plants that create a serene area. The sauna is in a shape of a barrel designed with natural wood and glass doors that add a modern touch. There is a shower that we used to rinse between going to the sauna and the ice bath. We got 45 minutes that I felt was enough time to do both twice. The sauna was relaxing and the cold plunge a shocking but exhilarating experience. I could feel my circulation improve and a decrease in inflammation. I highly recommend this place! I left feeling refreshed.

My first cold plunge was really hard mentally. I managed to make it up to my neck for about a second before I scrambled out of the tub. My second round lasted longer at about 45 seconds. Then I made it to 1:15 and 2:10. I spent 10 minutes in the sauna between rounds and took cold showers between my plunges. This felt remarkably good, especially in light of the deep soreness in my body from running a marathon. My partner and I made a date out of it. It was a great way to have some screen free time that is so undiluted. I loved it and will be buying a package to come back. The space is beautiful and serene. There are two sides each with a sauna and cold plunge. The girl at the front desk was both helpful and friendly. This is her jam and it set me at ease. Studio 7 also operates a run club on Tuesdays. I may have to try that out as well!

Unlike older review photos that show a storefront, the spa is now located in a residential setting. Lots of free parking along O'ahu Ave and close to Mānoa Marketplace if you need to run errands/want to grab a bite to eat afterwards! When you arrive, you will fill out a brief intake form and the masseuse will review the information with you to make sure they understand what areas to focus on/avoid. There is a restroom inside. The massage room has a portable AC so the temperature is cool without being too cold when you get undressed. Make sure to close the blinds when you're getting undressed/dressed! I kept forgetting lol. Everything was very clean and tidy. For my prenatal massage (I am currently in my early second trimester) I started on one of my sides, switched to the other, and then was on my back for the last part. Minako was great about making sure that I felt comfortable and gently guided my arms/legs when I needed to be re-positioned. The pressure was perfect for me--not too deep but still effective. The massage oil they use is either unscented or very lightly scented. I'm usually sensitive to heavy scents but did not have any side effects. They wipe the area they massaged with a warm towel before you switch to a new position but a final warm towel is also provided to you afterwards to use as needed when you're getting dressed. I received a refreshing cup of water afterwards and Minako advised me to stay hydrated and avoid strenuous activity for the rest of the day. She mentioned that my hips feel tight (which surprised me since I've been having hip pain as a pregnancy symptom but hadn't explicitly mention this to her). She said that the tightness/pain will likely increase as baby grows and that I can run some warm water on my lower back for relief. This is a really cute spa and I would definitely return! They also have online gift cards (:

Well, today we are adding Chelsea North to the list of awesome providers in the islands. Chelsea works in the Hawaii Wellness Spa which is a little oasis in the midst of town. This was my first time here, and I was very impressed with the facilities. When I walked in the waiting area was warm and inviting; after a quick introduction I completed some paperwork while sipping some water. As I entered my massage room, right away I noticed the room had a shower and tub both were very clean. Then the main event! Chelsea probably has magic fingers that radiate healing rainbows from each fingertip. No kidding. My shoulders and neck were so tight and she gently yet firmly worked those muscles back into shape. She doubled checked on me, to make sure the pressure was to my liking but other than that, kept the chatting down to a minimum (likely because I was snoring 10 minutes into it). I also like that Chelsea used a variety of techniques to ensure the tension was relieved - meaning she customized for the situation (aka my rock hard neck and shoulder muscles) rather than stick to a cookie cutter variety. Towards the end of my massage I was surprised when Chelsea informed me that I was welcomed to take a quick shower if I wanted to wash off some of the lotion/oils. WOW, cool! Then I was offered some nice tea while cashing out and was on my way. Definitely will be back!! I think I'm in love......
