It was an experience, indeed. I highly recommend everyone to do it. I now understand why they say to do it at least 3 times before making a final decision on whether you like it or not. For the first time, you don't know what to expect as you see this container with water in it. However, once you get in and you close the door, you lay back and float.. instantly. There is no need to "close your eyes" because it is that dark in there to not have to do it. You (may) will have a feeling that you your body spinning in there but you aren't. I can't explain it, but you have to remind yourself that you are supported by the water that contains 1,000lbs of Epsom salt. You can easily let your mind "freak yourself" out by wondering where the door is, but again, if you lay down the way you started the door will be at the same spot when you closed it. The Epsom salt does burn/iirritate your eyes.. So don't touch/rub your eyes once you submerge your hand in that water. There are towels to use-provided for you. You do go in with no clothes, so you are butt-ass naked, but don't worry, the couple gives you plenty of privacy to do what they instruct you to do...i.e. The shower before and after getting in. Another way of imagining how it feels to come out after 90mins is like when the character Neo (from The Matrix) discovers that he is in a pod filled with red fluid with numerous cords attached to his body. Similarly like that without the cords attached, it's just being soaked in the Epsom salt for 90mins. Again, you take a shower to wash it off.. Which it does. They also provide you earplugs so the eater won't get in your ears. I went late morning, but next time I go, I think I'm going to go in the afternoon so that I'm tired and my brain isn't going 150miles an hour, maybe get a different experience that way. We shall see. For me at least, I do feel lighter and oddly refreshed from it. So, I'm definitely going back and see what else I can discover as I float on 1,000lbs of Epsom salt! read more

Coming off of a week excessive debauchery in Las Vegas and months of lack of exercise and poor eating, it was time to give my mind, body, and soul a reset. So, I decided to float alone and naked in a tank at Floatwise. Floatwise is located in the peaceful, Pupukea area. Once I turned into the driveway, I noticed 2 clearly marked parking stalls for Floatwise. I was greeted by the owners Niv and Anisa. The business is located in their residence. Niv patiently explained the float procedures. He was very patient answering all my silly questions as this was my very first float. In short, you shower, put in some earplugs, get in the tank, and float. At first, I worked on getting comfortable in the tank. I experimented with different positions. I had some anxiety because I do get claustrophobic however, I reminded myself that I was in control of the float and opened the door a few times and even left it a bit ajar. A lot of self talk and encouraging myself ensued and soon I was comfy in my new environment. I learned to trust the float tank was a safe place. I eventually fell asleep. I don't know how long before or after I fell asleep. I lost all sense of time. When I woke, I was overcome with a deep sense of peace and relaxation. I wasn't sure how much time was left in my 90 minute float but I enjoyed the weightlessness and began stretching and moving my body in ways I thought weren't possible in the salty water. Before I knew it I could hear a faint sound of music (just as Niv explained) to let me know it's been 90 minutes. I relaxed in the outdoor lounge area for a bit and reflected on the float experience. The float experience was one of a kind. What I mean is what I experienced will be different from what you may experience. For me, the experience was incredible! First, I noticed my mind was clear. I saw beauty in the surroundings that I didn't notice when I arrived. I also felt my body was loose. Earlier in the day my neck hurt and I seemed not to notice it anymore. In the end, I was just super chill and much more patient with my 2 kiddos when I picked them later that night. I was able to meet my goal of resetting my mind, body and soul! One final note, I thought this would've been great to do when I was pregnant with my kiddos. It would of been a nice bonding activity. I would have loved get all the extra weight off my body and to be able to feel every movement and hear every little sound the baby made in-vitro. I highly recommend this for preggo mommas! read more

This was an incredible experience. The spot in Pupukea is beautiful and the atmosphere is very nice. The people in charge are Anisa and Niv, they are both very relaxed and nice to talk to. They have a brand new float tank, very salty, provides for excellent flotation. They will provide you with a clean shower (soap, shampoo and conditioner included), ear plugs, as many towels as you could dream of, and all of the information you need to know about floating. Everything seems to be very new and clean. Before and/or after the float you are welcome to relax on the deck which has a beautiful view and lots of cushions and bananas :) All in all definitely a 5 star experience that will keep me coming back. read more

Floating was a great experience. I initially tried it because I recently had back surgery and my lower back pain has been making it difficult to sleep at night. After trying acupuncture, massage and many other things, I decided to give floating a try. It took me about 5-10 minutes to let my body relax to find a comfortable position floating. Being suspended in the salt water took almost all the pressure off my lower back and by the end of the float my back felt much better. The most beneficial part of floating however was actually at night. I had one of the best night sleeps I've had since my surgery. I'm looking forward to trying it again.
