My friend Julie happen to recommend this place so I wanted to explore what this place has to offer. *Location & Parking* La'akea Healing center is located on the ground floor of Maunakea street side and parking is located inside Marin tower. *Store vibe* Their store entrance has an automatic lock so if the door is closed, just make sure to knock and someone will come down and open it but if the door is open just walk right in. I love how the room is decorated with mix of Hawaiian monarch portraits, medicinal indoor plants, Filipino ancestors alter. And an inventory of sage, sometimes they will have handmade Filipino charms, candles, crystals, herbs, salts, tarot decks, incense, intention sprays, holy water, and deity statues. The Laakea Healing center is ran by Rev. Zanny (Filipino guy) and Kumu Darcie (loving wife), they both offer different healing services. If you go on their website, click on the 'book' section and it ranges from hypnosis, reiki healing, tarot reading, Tawas, Hilot, Fertility Hilot, and spiritual cleansing. *Hilot Session* They had a limited time discounted 30 minute Hilot session so I took advantage of that and booked it for February 7. Kumu Darcie greeted me when I entered the shop and notified Rev. Zanny that I arrived. I walked up to the spot where there was a beautiful alter with pictures of past relatives, pets, and other Filipino decorations. Rev. Zanny will perform a paper Tawas and Hilot according to my body's needs. After the session I felt like I reconnected with my ancestors and they even visited me during my session! Felt that my body's tension has been release too! *Tawas Workshop* This 4 hour Tawas class was very fun and informative! Kumu Darcie gave the lectures through PowerPoint and gave us a packet that goes more into detail if we want to study and practice more at home and Rev. Zanny does the demonstrations. We learned the paper, candle, and egg methods. This class really helps sharpen your intuition and a deeper understanding about the spiritual importance of these tools. Honestly I was nervous because I was scared I was going to do the steps wrong with my Tawas partners but Darcie and Zanny will help polish your skills and give out pointers. After both experiences I am determine to save up and join their 9 day Hilot Retreat for next year! I have spiritual gifts and I felt called to reconnect with my ancestral roots.

Hey guys! I am obsessed. Ok so the place is located on Monsarrat where cars are kind of flying on…read morethe road so be careful. There are tons of street parking on Monsarrat and the side roads. I lucked out and found parking right across the street. As you walk down the ramp you see a nice lawn, 2 story large house and the barrel. I happen to go on the day that the run club meets later that evening so there was an ice bath in front. We are welcomed with a warm smile and the host answers all of our questions on all of their services: sauna, cold plunge, red light therapy and IV drip. He handed us towels and escorted us to our section. We opt and go for the contrast therapy. I wasn't sure what to expect since this is my first time but the combination of heat in the sauna and cold in the ice bath is a game-changer. He recommended that we do the sauna for 15-25 minutes then 3+ minutes in the ice bath. Our section is a beautiful oasis. As you walk through the gate there are black stones and plants that create a serene area. The sauna is in a shape of a barrel designed with natural wood and glass doors that add a modern touch. There is a shower that we used to rinse between going to the sauna and the ice bath. We got 45 minutes that I felt was enough time to do both twice. The sauna was relaxing and the cold plunge a shocking but exhilarating experience. I could feel my circulation improve and a decrease in inflammation. I highly recommend this place! I left feeling refreshed.

What an adventure! I know some people do this every day. I am not that person. I don't like cold…read morewater and though I'm good at pushing through hard things, most is not as mentally demanding. My first cold plunge was really hard mentally. I managed to make it up to my neck for about a second before I scrambled out of the tub. My second round lasted longer at about 45 seconds. Then I made it to 1:15 and 2:10. I spent 10 minutes in the sauna between rounds and took cold showers between my plunges. This felt remarkably good, especially in light of the deep soreness in my body from running a marathon. My partner and I made a date out of it. It was a great way to have some screen free time that is so undiluted. I loved it and will be buying a package to come back. The space is beautiful and serene. There are two sides each with a sauna and cold plunge. The girl at the front desk was both helpful and friendly. This is her jam and it set me at ease. Studio 7 also operates a run club on Tuesdays. I may have to try that out as well!
