On a Saturday evening there was quite a long wait for the patio but the 3 picnic tables outside were free and clear...perfect! Delicious food Great cocktails Kindest staff that brought water out for our pup All good things. We got the apple guac to start and loved that it was like a sweeter, chuckier guacamole. It was served with plantain chips and great for a hotter night app. For my main, I got the Grain Bowl. So good, so filling and I had plenty left over for lunch the next day. It had quinoa, tofu, chickpeas, yams, and a green goddess dressing. This will officially be added to the rotation of lunch/dinner spot. Cannot wait to come back.

Well, now. Finding truly authentic Venezuelan cuisine wasn't on my 2026 bingo card (as the cool…read morekids say), but I'm definitely stamping this square. Dios mio, what a meal! There was not a bad bite to be had. We might've cut the roofs of our mouths with the crisped-to-perfection Patacón, but I don't care--I think all sandwiches should be encased in fried plantain instead of bread. And the succulent pernil filling? Dios mio otra vez! Though, tbf, when is pernil ever a bad choice? Then there was the stuffed-to-the-brim Cachapa filled with carne mechada and Venezuelan cheese. It was enormous. Like, Jesus pulling from the neverending fish basket enormous. It never ended. We had to take it home. But before we did, I practically ate all of the arepa, which was the sweetest, bursting-with-corn-flavor arepa I've ever had outside of South America. It was so good, I practically cried with every bite. Tears of corny joy, mind you. We got an entree of grilled fish (Filete de Pescado a la Plancha), which came with a complimentary side--in our case, arroz amarillo cuz I gotta have my grains. The fish was perfectly crispy on the outside, meltingly tender on the inside. As with everything else, it was also way bigger than it had any right to be. Finally, we ended with what we THOUGHT would be a small item--the Arepa Arcoiris Llanero--but we were mistaken. It was stuffed so full of fresh avocado, shredded chicken, and various veggies that it had to be further encased in a paper wrapper for fear of the arepa wrap giving up on its job. We didn't make it more than a few bites before having to regretfully pack it home, but those few bites were chef's kiss. Venezuela has long been on my bucket list (who doesn't want to see Mount Roraima or Angel Falls?), but until I can get there, I'll be more than happy to "settle" for coming to this beautifully modern paradise of culinary delights. Throw in the huge portions and unbelievably low prices, and it's kind of a no-brainer to make the trip.

The service wasn't too bad, my cup ran empty every now and then but wasn't egregious. Let's talk presentation, the way drinks and food come out is clearly something the head of Maracaibo wanted to place extra detail on. Though the extra presentation is a bit gimmicky, it still got the job done for the most part. The sampler came in a giant Ferris wheel contraption. Not pictured, but my cocktail came with floating cotton candy. Nevertheless, the food was still incredible. The sampler is a must, not only for the presentation, but for the delicious eats that can push you out of your comfort zone. For first time Venezuelan eaters the amount of ways plantain could be prepped and served may be jarring, but I would encourage bravery and just try everything and anything you can on the sampler. Each bite was worth it! Let's talk main entrees, you won't be disappointed by the portions. If you enjoy plantain, definitely go for the patacon - if not, I'd suggest holding off as you may get your fill of it elsewhere. The skirt steak (churrasco) was cooked to my liking, went well in my patacon sandwich. It is massive, I couldn't eat it all - had to take some back. Onto the arepa bowl. Though the contents of the bowl instead could be something you may get elsewhere (like Chipotle for example), it's the addition of the arepa bowl blended with the flavors of everything else and the sauces they drizzle on top that completes this dish. It's unique and it screams for you to taste and pay attention. Overall - great foods, great ambiance, great people. Bit gimmicky but it is what it is.

Service was prompt. Food was prepared fresh and promptly: Henny Ribs - incredible sauce. I want to put it on everything. I like my ribs with a little pull, and these had just a bit more than I prefer, but they were still excellent. Moist and flavorful. Dallas Wings - crispy, moist, and flavorful. Not greasy. Batter was well-seasoned, each piece was cooked perfectly with nothing overdone, dry, or tough. Pulled pork sliders - my wife loved them. Flavorful, tender, and piled high. Henny Burger - I wished I had two of them. That says it all. The henny sauce is incredible. Burger was high quality and perfectly cooked. Bacon was delicious and an excellent addition. Not too crispy, not too soft. Perfect texture. The burger was HUGE. This may be my good-to from now on. Henny sauce was a great compliment to the other flavors. Family all raved about their food. Service was OK, quick and friendly, but the food was not. They have ribs on the menu, and chicken, but I couldn't find brisket, pretty much the epitome of Texas style barbecue, until I found, hidden away in the bottom corner, a brisket sandwich and a BBQ brisket burger. I chose the burger with fries. The burger patty itself was OK, standard chain restaurant bland-ish ground beef, but it was topped off with four or five very small slices of very cold, very fatty and very tough brisket with nary a hint of smoked goodness which is the hallmark of any good barbecue. The sauce was way too sweet, the fries cold and the bun stale. 0/10 would not recommend.

A few of us had been talking about trying it for a while, and it totally lived up to the hype. The vibe inside was welcoming and comfortable, and the whole hot pot experience made lunch feel like something fun and different instead of just a quick meal. We picked a broth and then ordered a bunch of meats, vegetables, and noodles to share. Everything tasted really fresh, and the broth was full of flavor from the start and got even better as we kept cooking. It's the kind of place where you end up trying a little bit of everything, and it's perfect for a group because everyone can customize their own bites. We also appreciated that it didn't feel rushed, even though it was lunchtime. Service was great too. The staff was friendly, checked on us often enough without hovering, and helped explain options for anyone who hadn't done hot pot before. That made a big difference, especially with a bigger group. By the time we finished, we were already talking about coming back. I definitely plan to return soon with my family, and I can also see myself bringing a few colleagues here as well. It's a great spot for catching up, doing a casual group lunch, or just getting a really satisfying meal.

The problem is... it tries to be all 3. We started with the owner trying to seat us at a high top table that basically was halfway in a major aisle. He seemed perturbed when we asked for a different table. Fortunately a young girl framed the menus and brought us to a much nicer table. She was bubbly, friendly and full of enthusiasm. We chose this spot for dinner because of its proximity to our hotel but had there been other options... The music was so loud my wife couldn't hear me without my shouting. Nether could our waitress. She told us it's always this loud and they struggle to hear customers. The food was good although prices were a bit high. Waited was attentive. Half way through our meal, it suddenly got quiet. The service was still professional and friendly, but the food left something to be desired. Though it was a Thursday evening, the weather was not great, so it was not overly surprising that the restaurant was not very crowded. Because of that fact, the gracious hostess offered us our choice of a few different tables, from a larger booth to a two-top near the window. We opted for the booth that would give us a chance to look out into the restaurant AND to still see the Manhattan skyline. We decided to order some drinks, and I opted for an Espresso Martini, which was not typically something I would have gotten before dessert, but I wanted the extra caffeine! Plus, their version included a caramel cold foam, which enticingly made it extra creamy and delicious. In fact, it was definitely one of the best espresso martinis I had ever had. We were deciding to skip any starters, so we asked for some bread while we waited for our entrees. The plate of focaccia was decent and hit the spot, but we were charged $2 for it, which was not a big deal but also not appreciated. For my entree, I went with the Lobster Bouillabaisse. The broth was flavorful, but there was not much of it. In fact, the dish came with three sweet rolls to dip into the soup, but I could have lived with less given the limited amount of liquid in the bowl. The included blue prawns were good, but the Hokkaido scallops and lobster were chewy. There was also supposed to jumbo lump crab, which seemed to have been replaced by gritty clams. There were also leeks and Yukon potatoes that were sliced in small cylinders and looked fairly similar to each other. The potatoes were bland, cold, and under-cooked. Overall, it was not very impressive for $48. My companion's Prime Filet Mignon was of an unknown size on the menu, but arrived looking smaller than the typical 8-ounces. It was also over-cooked. He did like his mashed potatoes, though. For dessert, we decided to get the Apple and Pear Bread Pudding again, since that had been excellent last time and would hopefully be a redeeming feature of the meal, which it was. The sweet, caramelized brioche had been infused with cubes of fruit, baked, and drizzled with a sea salt caramel. We replaced the designated companion creme fraiche gelato with a scoop of passion fruit sorbet, which was less of an appropriate pairing, but more of an appealing variety to us. While Drift truly offered a stunning space with incredible service, they really could improve their culinary preparations.
