Great little sports bar in midtown east. They have happy hour til 8, which includes a rotating menu of craft beers for $5, house wines and well drinks for $5 also. Pretty decently priced for midtown. Came on a Tuesday and it had plenty of space at the bar and plenty of tables for people to sit. I opted for the bar. The bartender was extremely friendly and nice and never had to wait long for a drink. They were playing the Olympics by the bar which I was grateful for. Music was great, but low enough so I could have a conversation with the person I had come with. There is food here, but never had any of it, so can't speak to that. Overall a great place to stop in to catch up with a friend or have a date. read more

Went here for the first time last weekend and was very pleased with my experience. The beer list was extensive with the menu having something for everyone - including several vegetarian selections. I ordered the vegetarian cassolette which was excellent (I'm not vegetarian - I was just in the mood for it). The others I was with all enjoyed their selections as well. The location is spacious and the staff is nice - so I'd definitely come back to Draft 55 again without hesitation. Just a place with a cool casual vibe that is welcoming to all. Came here with some friends last night. We walked in but before that we got our ID's checked which I thought was odd considering this place is also a restaurant. Anyways, we got seated right away and the hostess was nice. The ambiance is cool and our waiter was great. The drinks were reasonably priced ($9 house wine) and the food was delicious!!! There is a great variety of food options on the menu so that was nice (soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, appetizers, etc). I will for sure be coming back soon. Came here a few times with group so I can vouch that they are good for groups and good for reservations. Food is great- try their pastrami rolls and their flatbreads. Great friendly waitstaff and bar tenders. Drink specials around $6 good beers and cider on tap and of course well drinks. Bar might be crowded but wasn't too long to get a drink. I came here for a private party and was deeply disappointed in the manager that was supposed to handle our private space. My colleagues and I came early to make sure everything was in order and we were disappointed to find a sad attempt at VIP area. Honestly, if expectations were set properly in the beginning we would have been fine. Instead we dealt with a rude blonde Irish woman that had zero customer service skills. Later, we noticed her talking to the bar staff. Second after their conversation, our service went from subpart to unacceptable. If it wasn't for the fact that our entire office was supposed to meet at this place on such a cold night, we would have cancelled after meeting a woman that was as bitter as the weather. Came here on a Sunday winter afternoon and didn't leave until after midnight. They have a very large selection of beers on draft. However the food was delicious and amazing. We spent a pretty penny that we had such a great time enjoying the game. They have live music so it was a very eventful space. The bartender and waitresses were all very nice and attentive. DRANKS I ordered two wheat beers I've tried and both types were pretty delicious. I switched over to Sauvignon blanc for the rest of the evening and it was delicious too! THE FOOD I started with the Guinness burger which comes with garlic fries and it was phenomenal. I tried my friends pastrami fried spring rolls and that was just mind blown delicious! If you are is later got hungry and I had an order of the nachos all to my own some self and I devoured it in 15 minutes!!!! My team and I came here for Happy Hour after work around 5:30pm and the place was already pretty filled up. We had to order appetizers or they wouldn't give us a table even though we really only wanted a drink. However, I guess it all worked out because their food turned out to be pretty good! We ordered the Smoked Hummus and Spiced Pita Chips, Rogues Chipotle Ale Chili Nachos, and Flash Fried Calamari. They were all really good because we saw the bottom of the plate within minutes although I really wish they had given us more Pita Chips for the amount of hummus that came with our order. I ended up using some of the nachos to scoop up what's left of the hummus because my other alternative was using a fork to eat it solo. Of course, nachos is always a safe choice when there are drinks involved and pairs very well with beer. The calamari wasn't over fried nor did it tasted too oily unlike more places. I would definitely recommend these three appetizers if you do decide to stop by for a couple drinks and want something to munch on. Drink wise, I had the Cabernet that I loved as well! There was enough body and perfect amount of sweetness in the wine that I couldn't just stop at 1 glass. If you're someone who is a big red wine lover like me, I'd give this a try - no regrets! I believe happy hour ends at 8pm, longer than most places have their happy hours. Service wise, our waitress was attentive and walked by periodically to remove empty plates and refilled our drinks. We weren't ignored and all our requests were fulfilled practically immediately. Overall, Draught 55 is a great place to host your team's happy hour. This place is an oasis in the desert of bars in the hood. Very very good. Not just because it has more than bud light or coors light on tap but because the food is tasty, the bartenders are responsive and the space is perfect for groups. Head to the back faux-outdoor space and hang out. They keep it warm in the winter and cool in the summer and you feel like you are in a greenhouse, thats meant as a compliment. For views and stuff...you know? The HH is top-notch as well. Highly recommend getting there early, grabbing a spot and trying out a couple different beer options. That said, and I have not shame here, there are even some decent wine options for good prices...dont tell anyone I told you that. read more

If you are a fan of beer, this is the place to be. 42 rotating beers. $5 happy hour until 8PM. Dimly-lit with a wood theme and clean bathrooms. An atrium area if you want to be outside without actually being outside. A cellar downstairs for private events. These are all great things and make Draught 55 a great place to visit after work, or on the weekends. I was here on a Wednesday at 5PM and it was empty. By 6PM the place was packed and standing room only in the atrium. The beer list spans across two pages. The selection for HH is weak but we did find an amber ale we enjoyed for the cheap $5 price. In order to sit at a table you need to order food. In order to switch to said table from the bar area, you have to close your tab at the bar first. This would be fine if there was more than one bartender. Frustrating but whatever. We split an order of mozzarella sticks (delicious considering they're bar food) and pita with hummus (pretty good, pita was nice and warm). Our waiter was nice but would disappear for a while before coming back around. So if you're here for drinks, stay at the bar or atrium. If you're here for food and drinks, grab a table. I would definitely come here again for the beer selection alone. Most of the beers come in bottles FYI. read more

Have been here a few times now for drinks, snacks, stopovers and the like. Spacious bar with various seating arrangements and an extensive craft beer list. I've had food here previously, although nothing really stood out. Also, many of the items are pretty high price-wise for what seems to be regular bar food. Usually opt to come here for the drinks, which range from $7-10 based on ABV and size. Only a couple TVs here to watch games, so it's more of a conversation bar than a sports bar. For the area, this is a good place to get something different for beer. Staff does their best considering the size/popularity. read more

This is a cool bar close to where I work. I don't really drink, so the only times I visited here were accompanying my team for after work happy hours. Definitely the craft beer! They seemed to have a limitless list! My personal favorite is the banana bread fruit beer, very refreshing and juicy without too much alcohol. In terms of food, Nachos was the one you cannot miss! So cheesy! So satisfactory! I made a mistake by ordering the pork belly, which was not that easy for a large group to share; however the meat was so tasty that it was finished within ten minutes! My first visit to Draught 55 was for a craft beer lovers meet-up group I recently joined, and all in all, everything was spot on. The drinks, food, and service were all great, and I'd certainly return even though it's not really in a neighborhood that's close to me. In other words, I'd definitely ride up a few extra subway stops to share the spot with some of my beer-connoisseur friends! As for beers, they have a great selection of speciality and craft beers--and they are priced well for Manhattan ($7/$8 instead of $10/$11)... and, on their Web site, they feature descriptions of all of their beers in case you wanna find out what they serve before you head up there -- http://www.draught55.com/en/beers. As for food, I tried a few of their appetizers but no entrées... but their apps were tasty enough! One of my favorites was the pork belly--it was delicious and a portioned to share! Note that they also serve free homemade pickles with their meals, which is cool... but these are the sweet variety... so if you like sweet pickles, you'll probably get off on these. I prefer dill and sour pickles, so they were just ok for me. But, still, free-- pretty cool! Regarding service at Draught 55, it was great. The waitresses were super nice and accommodating (though forgetful a couple of times, but that can be forgiven b/c we had such a big group)... AND they even gave our group some free food b/c we brought in so many people! I also really liked the ambiance and style of the place--especially the area where we sat, which was separated a bit from the bar area and featured long, stylist picnic style tables/benches. I am super pleased with my visit to Draught 55. While waiting for a friend to get off work so we could get some drinks, I did a little bit of Yelping for a place to get those drinks. I'm always up for craft beers, so when I saw that there was new, uncharted territory on the Upper East Side, I had to bite. Draught 55 was awesome! We came in around 8 on the Wednesday after New Year's Day and the place was mostly empty. The waitress later assured us that it's usually a lot fuller, but frankly, I liked it that way. I was impressed by the size of the space; in addition to a long bar there's a very spacious dining area with nice wooden furniture and candlelit tables. Our waitress brought us ice water in handled mason jars and the food and drink menus. Prices for the food were reasonable. I decided I needed to eat like a child, and got a side of hand cut garlic fries ($6) and the chicken tenders ($9). My friend had the Brussels sprouts with bacon and the French onion soup (each of which were $8 or $9). I didn't get a chance to sample the soup but the Brussels sprouts were delicious. Lots of bacon to go around. As for my meal, the fries were delicious and the chicken tenders were out of this world. I'm not sure what they were battered in but it tasted like eggs, breadcrumbs, and gustatory heaven. There might or might not have been beer in there as well. And inside the thick, crispy crust was delectable, moist chickeny goodness. They came with some sort of honey dipping sauce that was also incredible, even on the fries. And even with mayo. And ketchup. I was impressed with the beers on tap, and I was able to find a handful of things I'd never had. It seemed like most of the pints were about $7, but we elected to get some beer flights, to maximize out beer tasting pleasure. You get 4 5 oz. beers for $10, a good deal. For the first flight, we went for: Southern Tier Old Man Winter, Allagash Black, Uinta Hop Notch IPA, and the Newburgh Saison... a nice spread. The second beer flight was Founders' Breakfast Stout and Dirty Bastard, Dogfish Head Chicory Stout, and the Greenport Porter (or stout, I'm not sure). Another solid spread, but my only complaint is that we actually ordered the Stone Smoked Porter instead of the Greenport but our waitress was so happy and lovely that I didn't feel like being a pain and the Greenport is a good beer, too. Ok that's not true. I have one more complaint, kind of. Our waitress was really, really lovely. She was friendly and very attentive and complimented my taste in beers, but when it was time to get the check, it was hard to get her attention despite the fact that there was only one other seated table. Actually, not despite, because of. She was extremely engrossed in conversation with them and kind of forgot that we were there, too. But she was otherwise awesome so I don't want to dock any stars for the two tiny problems. read more

If you do come here, please do yourself a favor and go to the back room - it's an entire separate bar area that looks completely different from the front and is so extremely pretty! I fell in love immediately with the lights, sun roof, barrels, and overall decor. Definitely one of the cutest bars in midtown east. I am a fan of the $5 happy hour drinks! They have a good selection of draught beers, but I was in the mood for cider so I ended up getting the pear cider (which was also on the happy hour special). I loved it and it was really comforting for a cold night! My boyfriend and I had dinner plans after so we decided to just get a side of hand cut garlic fries to go along with our drinks. The fries were good and there were actual pieces of cut up garlic which is always nice! However, we were a bit disappointed that the portion was really small for the price. While wandering Midtown we were looking for a place to wet our whistle and rest our feet. Hubs found this on yelp! (Thanks Yelpers!) SO nice!! We were here on a Friday around 4 pm. Such a warm cozy place. Very relaxed and casual without being a dive bar. We loved it. Beer list was great, and they do offer flights! My friend had a Lady Manhattan cocktail and LOVED it. Our server was amazing!! She was very friendly and genuine. You can tell she enjoys her job and knows about beer. She had no problem helping a friend of ours picking beers for his flight. We asked her about things and places to go and night and gave us some great suggestions. I really wish there was a place like this in my hometown of Detroit.
