Though I came here for the extensive list of craft beers, I was pleasantly surprised by the dinner menu at this homey bar. For a sit-down meal, I had the cauliflower artichoke dip to start and the portobello burger. The dip (which I had dreamed about consuming all day) was gooey and filled with chunks of delicious cauliflower. It was served with crudites and crostini, but I ended up just spooning it into my mouth--it was that good. My portobello burger was topped with melted brie, cranberry relish and stone smoked porter glazed nuts and tasted like Thanksgiving on a burger. For a vegetarian, it's always exciting to see how restaurants spice up a simple veggie burger (or in this case, portobello burger), and I thought this was a delicious way to dress up a mushroom. It didn't even need any ketchup, which is rare for a veggie burger! I only give this place 4 stars because the service was bad, even on a Monday night, and it was hard to get the apathetic waitress' attention. There's something about this place. I've been here a few times and I really enjoy the atmosphere. Maybe it's the employees, maybe it's the drinks. Either way, come early, get a seat, enjoy yourself. I can't really speak on the food here as we only went here for drinks, but the place itself is super cute. I love the long farm tables and benches. Love the vintage-y hipster decor. Love the wild flowers in mason jars on the table. Since I'm not a beer drinker, can't really comment on that. This place is awesome! Came today for a chill Valentine's Day and it was perfect. Delicious food and extremely pleasant staff. The wings were ridiculously crispy, and definitely get the steak boulangere appetizer! They even had a guy playing live acoustic music--nice mix of genres and he took requests! They had a huge beer selection and since it wasn't busy, the waitress was really nice in taking her time explaining the different types to us. I loooved the decor--kind of rustic and relaxing, with nice lighting. The atrium out back (glass ceiling, greenhouse type area with a separate bar) was open, but everything was off (ceiling lights and fireplace). I'm assuming this was because it wasn't busy enough to open. I hope they're open next time and that they put the comfy looking chairs I saw in pictures back in front of the fireplace! This would be an excellent place for a small or medium size party... The manager was extremely nice and when I asked to check out the downstairs--she said it wasn't ready now because they use it for private parties, but she offered to tidy it up so I could look at it. I've been here a few times for the happy hour specials and always ogled the food people ordered. I finally stopped in for dinner on a recent Thursday night. It was packed when I got there around 7:30, as expected. Me and my friend were seated at the last open spot at the long communal table in the main part of the restaurant. We started out with the nachos, which I loved. It was the perfect size for two people to split. I ordered the half roasted chicken and my friend ordered the fish and chips, and we really enjoyed both. My chicken dish came with mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts and was huge! I love that they give you so much food. Dessert was disappointing-we ordered the banana bread to split and it was the tiniest little piece of dessert I've ever seen. It didn't taste good either; very, very dense and without the crème anglaise or sauce that usually accompanies bread pudding. Because of the noise level it's not the ideal place to eat dinner and catch up, but definitely a good spot nonetheless. Stopped in for drinks on the first day of a weekend visit to NYC; what a find! The draft list was expansive and well rounded. Lots of local flavor, and tons of craft offerings from all over the US. The bottle selection was even larger, but I tend to order what's on tap as taps tend to rotate out quicker than bottles... The atmosphere is quaint, relaxed and very unassuming; very much up my alley. Great music and a very friendly waitstaff rounded out my group's visit. Out waitress was very friendly and she knew her beer. She made wonderful suggestions to those in my group that weren't familiar with craft beer. The prices were modest to average for New York; $7-$8 for draft selections and the flight of four for $12 is a great deal. We didn't try any food, but I would gladly come back here on the next trip out. Coming from Michigan, I was hoping to find a decent beer bar and Draught 55 exceeded my expectations! read more

Whether you want food or drinks, this place is great! Don't let the front deceive you... there is more than meets the eye. Especially in the back, past the bathroom they have this bar/lounge area that is really pretty and nice. My friend had his engagement party there and it was a very nice cozy location. Updating my review because I finally had a sit down meal here. Walked in on a Thursday night at 9pm and it was packed! Most of the tales were taken up but they had room for two. Our waitress was the cutest, friendliest blonde ever. She was awesome. I decided to go for a burger, not the classic burger, but the Guiness burger. The guiness burger came with Guiness cheese, guiness mayo, and crispy fried onions. And of course, a side of garlic fries. The fries could have been a little more crispy in my opinion. We used to be regulars of this bar, but we don't go there anymore because the management/ barman made it really difficult to order beers. They ran out of our favorite beer, which can happen (no hard feelings), we chose several IPA and they were all out of it. Interesting spot with both indoor and outdoor seating. The bar inside has a few TVs good to watch sports along with an extensive beer menu that will encompass something for everyone. The have a good selection of food items, everything from bar nuts to a swordfish steak. The outdoor area is beautiful and perfect for any event. I originally went to Draught 55 on a recommendation from a friend. I was told they have a large beer selection and it's a good place to go for a drink after work. Pros: They have a nice selection of beers that are not ridiculously overpriced. We got a table fairly quickly even though it was oddly in the center of the back room with no other tables surrounding it. Great place to go if you are just grabbing a few quick beers Cons: The chicken fingers were absolutely disgusting, they were a mix of greasy and dry at the same time. "A nice alternative to the Jeffery" This is a very chill, sometimes rambunctious, bar at the border of midtown east and the UES. I prefer this place over the Jeffery because you rarely have to sit on top of someone to hear your friend speak to you. There is a HUGE beer list with everything that your heart and taste buds would desire. There is a back patio that is cover with windows with is perfect for drinking "outside "without drinking outside. In the winter this area is nice because there is a fireplace in the back. Actually, it was brought to my attention that the tint of the windows is similar to that of Denny's restaurants. I'd imagine this would be a fun place to go on a Thursday or Friday night. Not only were they so easy to work with leading up to the event, but they made sure every second of the event ran smoothly from the minute our party started! It gets really crowded on weeknights for happy hour, especially because it's one of the best spots in the area! The food is good too. Let me clarify further on that, the appetizers are yum. That's all I've had from here. I'd highly recommend the nachos, nacho lovers. My one negative comment was the service. There was 1 (I repeat ONE) waitress. My friends and I were sitting at a table and this one poor waitress was literally running and serving the entire place. I even saw her clearing plates. She did kind of roll her eyes when my friend asked to order a flight of beer (like she didn't want to have to 'deal' with it.) I did see another waitress at some point when she came to take our menus to give to another table, but she didn't help at all. I also have seen the really cool back area this place offers. I can't really figure this place out. Saturday night there was a quiet group of regulars and one weekend afternoon there was a bouncer and a very young crowd. I just don't have a handle on what this place is. I visited here on a request from the bride on her bachelorette party. I bet if she were to write the review, she would rant and rave about this place. We actually visited here twice in a 4 hour period. Here's the deal - it's a beer place for sure. If you want beer, then by all means, come here. They have a massive selection of beer, however a little selection of anything else. I am more of a wine drinker, and was disappointed in my options. It also took them about 15 minutes to realize my wine glass was empty and to ask if I wanted more. They also were out of the first beer the bride asked for, and that was a little discouraging. I did try a few of hers, and she had ordered some decent ones that I could sip on, but none I could really drink a lot of myself. We did also order a pretzel from here on our first trip, as we had dinner reservations for 11:30 and needed some food to tide us over until then. The pretzel came out absolutely boiling hot (I burned my fingers several times trying to rip it apart) but the sauce was much better than a sauce we had tried a night before, so I did enjoy this pretzel better. Let me explain. I had a standing reservation for 15 people every other Wednesday starting in September. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. There has been a problem. In the past, our res has not been sent to the hostess, which was remedied, but tonight was another form of atrocious. Our reservation was for 15 people at 7pm. Confirmed over the phone and by email that day. We got there and it was very crowded. At 7:15, they still didn't have a table ready. At 7:30, I got upset. They offered us a table for TWO for everyone to stand around (with food and drink). There were about 9-10 people standing around a square table with soup, entrees, and drinks. It was a fire hazard. I brought up the fact that I didn't know if we should order food if we were going to move and the waitress literally said "oh you're *that* group"...how rude can you be? Finally, at 9pm, a large party vacated and we took our seats. When the check came I was SHOCKED they didn't offer us any sort of compensation (free drinks, dessert on the house, standard things restaurants do when things go wrong) so I talked to the manager. She was the nastiest manager I've ever met. Instead of apologizing for our 2 hour delay, she said "well what do you want me to do?" Finally, she took a round of drinks off, but only because I suggested it. TLDR: Unprofessional and rude service that isn't worth the wait. We will never be going back. read more

Came here for dinner on Sunday night for the first time and we were seated right away Bruery have a great list of craft beers and the bar tends are knowledge and able to make recommendations. The wait staff is friendly and came by a few times during our meal to check on us. We had the mozzarella sticks for appetizers and they were warm and fresh. For drinks we had the Weihenstephaner and house brew which was excellent, reminiscent of a Budweiser. We placed our order for entrees after receiving out appetizers and we didn't have to wait long. For entrees we had the cheeseburger (which was a little undercooked for a medium) and the guiness beef stew - which has carrots, celery, onions. I would highly recommend getting the beef stew, the flavors were great, the mashed potatoes were perfect, just the right amount of dense. Everything tasted really fresh. I also ordered a cocktail after my meal - the winter solstice and it was a perfect way to end my night. Absolutely best burger I can remember! Had the Black and Bleu burger medium rare. It was cooked to perfection, had the right amount of melted Bleu cheese and the homemade, pickled cucumbers were awesome and a great addition. You can't go wrong with either the homemade fries or sweet potatoes fries. Figure five-stars for the beer and three stars for the food. Incredible selection of beer with tons on tap. Even my brother-in-law who pretty much only drinks Bud Light was able to find a beer he liked - no Bud at Draught 55 but the do have a house pilsner. I had the Allagash Curieux - one of my all-time faves which is 11% ABV and comes in a 25 oz (750ml) bottle. Two are more than enough! The only issue is the price - $32 each. I've had it for less but we were out to have a good time so savings be damned! They offer flights of beer that you choose - as opposed to pre-defined flights. I didn't have that because I knew what I wanted but it's a great option to have when there are so many taps available. The food was good but not great. I shared a pork belly appy which had a nice sauce on it but I wasn't overwhelmed by the meat. It's pork so how bad can it be, right? we also shared some wings - the sesame or something - which were OK too. They have other flavors so I'd probably give those a try next time. My wife had the fish & chips which she said were OK. She liked the f&c at The Perfect Pint better. I had a burger that had some Guinness something or other and it was good. I don't remember what my brother in law ate. Like I said, the beer is VERY good so I'm a little foggy about the latter part of the visit. :) Who knows, maybe the food is better if you have weaker beer! ;) The place is kind of nice.
