We originally decided to give this place a chance to support local mom and pop shops, but were unpleasantly swindled by the such. Upon installation of our shades, we were not able to open our French doors more than 14 inches!! In addition, their response was "do you want them to look good, or work?" They admitted to "thinking" that this was going to be a problem, but gave no warning OR resolution. I honestly couldn't believe my ears. For a professional shop that seems to be family owned, this is DEFINITELY not their passion. They are only in to make the biggest, quick buck possible. I think of them every day that I attempt to squeeze out on to my balcony. By the way, they charged $4000 for 11 windows. 4 of which are the above mentioned French doors that don't open because of the valance design. 3 more of which were installed crooked or hit the track when raising and lowering. So, overall, great job on 4 total windows! Try 3 day blinds or home depot if you are in the market. Shop around and be smart because this place is an example of how they will take advantage of you.

Waited for 10 minutes for customer service only to be informed that Home Depot did not carry that product in their blinds department. Went to the Vertical Blinds Factory and was waited on right away by Sal. Sal knew immediately what I needed and sold me my replacement brackets. I was in & out of the store in 5 minutes. Of course I could have shopped on line and waited a week for delivery. Thanks Sal, for having what I needed, when I needed it.

I was told that they don't do repairs. This really wasn't a repair just needed a quick fix so I didn't wreck it Told to go on line and fine a repair shop. No effort was made . Not what I expect from a quality blind store. Will steer clear of Ambiance from now on.

Their pricing was good -- I did online comparisons to be sure. Their showroom was very helpful because we could go there and see various options in person and view how the automation alternatives actually worked. Their in-home visit enabled us to choose materials and colors right in the environment where the blinds would be installed. We choose automated blinds that change position relative to the sunrise and sunset so that we have the perfect combination of light and privacy in our family room with window walls on three sides. We can also control our blinds with Amazon's Alexa or Apple's Siri. This shows the kind of experience that we appreciate. We are so glad to hear that they have relocated to Wilmette, closer to us. This is the kind of service and expertise that this area deserves!

I built a new European-style tilt turn window for our guest room and wanted a nice old-school…read moreroller shade to finish it out. I poked around and was happy to find Zwick. They had the best choice of fabrics and colors, which was a key consideration. Most of the others I found online seemed to have very blah generic fabrics. I was also happy to deal locally, and directly with the people that actually make the stuff rather than with internet chatbots. I called them with a few technical questions and immediately could tell that they knew what they were talking about, and they gave me some good advice. I also found their price and lead time very reasonable for made-to-order work. I have a set of kitchen windows underway, and will be returning to them for those shades. BTW, in addition to vintage spring-roller shades, they make shades with more modern controls, and handle all sorts of other window treatments, although I did not get into that stuff. When I picked up, I saw they have a nice show room as well.

We also needed a couple of new blinds - one motorized dark+shade and one manual shade. Mike & Debbie were very prompt in coming in for measurements and diagnosis, gave a quick quote, and place an order for us. Installs took a couple of extra trips for them due to the top not fitting into the wall frame, but they got it done neatly and on time. Very friendly and reliable team!

My cat knocked it over, the liquid spilled on the top overnight, and it completely bubbled up and stripped the stain and varnish. I found Wood Wizzard Refinishing on Nextdoor and saw a bunch of great reviews, then looked them up online and found even more good feedback. I sent in a request with photos through their website and heard back almost immediately with a very reasonable quote that even included pickup and delivery. The guys who came out were super professional and really nice. We got our piece back right on time, and it looks amazing -- you'd never know anything ever happened to it. Such a great job!
