Had a problem with a cracked pipe under my kitchen sink. Called them and they were able to come out the next day. Was given a quote that seemed outrageously expensive. Had another group come out for an estimate that was $1500 less Drains r us for the same work. Needless to say I didn't go with Drains r us. Nice guys but so expensive. Came out on short notice on a Saturday after my faucet replacement project revealed some bigger problems. Gave me a cheap option to fix it myself that might last a couple of years or two options for him to repair - one a low budget, short-term solution or one a permanent fix. After a rudimentary polling of my neighbors and a google search for the cost to snake a drain, I've determined I was grossly overcharged by Drains R Us. Ultimately, I guess, this is my fault given I didn't have time to research what this service would cost, although in my defense, I wasn't even sure what the real issue was before the Drains R Us rep came out. Perhaps next time, when I don't have 2 kids to care for, dinner to make, a 25 page paper due, a 40 hour work week, an electrical and water heater issues to deal with, I can commit copious amounts of time into researching cost and your company's reputation......OR maybe, just maybe, you could be honest and not try to take advantage every chance you get. I was told they would be there during a 2 hour window like most plumbers. They never showed. When I called they said there was a mistake in the call center apologized and put me in for the next morning. The call center was extremely friendly which is why I gave them two stars instead of one. When the guys showed they gave me a quote that was 3 times the amount that I ended up paying. They told me they had better quality ( it was a very simple fix). When I told them about the previous day they said " I am sorry they should have told you, we work with a lot of commercial customers so we needed to do something there. they call us a lot." I did not chose to go with their service and will never call them again. read more

No one has a sense of humor when they're rousted out of bed at midnight to deal with two inches of raw sewage. But Arch from Drains R Us came about as close as it's possible to get! And thank goodness, because I was a little freaked out to find this disaster waiting for us tonight. From the time I called to the time he pulled up I'd say it was less than 30 minutes. From there he was extremely straightforward. He took a look, he told me what he thought, he gave an estimate, he got to work. Best of all, he FIXED IT! And then (bless his heart) he cleaned up. I mean, we still have a lot of scrubbing to do, but it's a far cry from the nightmare we walked in on. Also, he gave his professional opinion of what caused it in the first place and several options on how it might be dealt with / prevented in the future. It's not great news, but at the least we have an idea what we're dealing with. Here's my highest recommendation - if anything happens again I'm not shopping around - I'm calling Arch! read more

Family owned and great! Came out right away and fixed a plumbing problem we had been dealing with for a long time. He took his time and tried multiple attempts to auger our toilet so we didn't have to pay extra and have the toilet removed. Saved us money! Honest, fast, and family owned. Very friendly and the work appears to be good, but very overpriced and I feel taken advantage of. I was charged nearly $400 to replace two stop valves, which took about 30 minutes of actual work. While I'd agreed to the price, not knowing how long it would take or what it should cost, has I known such little labor was involved, I never would have agreed. I was a little desperate and blame myself, however, they did take advantage of the situation and ripped me off. My normal plumber wasn't reachable at the time and a valve under my sink was leaking, so I had to go with someone else. Talked to my regular plumber today as was told he charges $90 for one and $135 for two. Drains R Us quoted me $295 for one and and additional $95 for a second. I'd Googled the work prior to accepting the quote, but had accidentally looked at shutoff valve, as in the valve that shuts off the water to the entire house. My own fault, but it would be nice to have not been taken advantage of. I was asked by the plumber if I know much about plumbing before being quoted, and now I know why. I just checked Google and found many reviews stating the same issues with being overcharged. I wish I had read the Google reviews first. read more

WE LOVE ARCH! He has come to our rescue twice now and I cannot stress enough what an honest person he is as well as a pleasure to deal with. He is a trouble shooter and if he cant find whats wrong he isn't going to charge you, I appreciate the fact that when we couldn't duplicate the leak we have going on he didn't tear apart my walls and ceiling for no reason. My parents' trap in their kitchen sink was clogged. They are in their 80's and no longer able to do these minor repairs so they called Drains R US. Without even trying to clean out the trap first he told them he had to get up on the roof and snake the system. When that didn't solve the problem he cleaned out the trap like they originally asked him to do. He charged them $300! This is not how you treat the elderly. read more

Terrible company! I own my own company so I understand that sometimes you just get a crazy customer....I am not one of those. Drains R Us is your typical plumbing company that sells you on one price and then comes to your property and nickel and dimes you for hundreds of dollars more. I called them for a sewer scope and when the technician arrived, he started listing of additional items that needed to be done at the tune of $3-4 hundred dollars more than originally quoted. When I protested, he explained that taking a ladder out of his truck and going up a one story roof would be an additional $150. When I called back later that day to get an update on the job, the secretary said she would call me back. Two days later I called their office only to find out that they decided they didn't want to do the job!! No call or anything after I had already authorized the work. They obviously are having some issues running a proper business and I would only call them at your own risk!! Each time I call their are kids in the background, so must be a small unorganized operation. read more
