I contacted Streamline Plumbing four days prior to my mom's discharge from rehabilitation. Brian (owner) was able to look at the job right away and there happened to be an opening in the schedule for the following day to replace her abnormally low toilet with an ADA-compliant model, replace the shower valve (that had leaked for years) and install a new hand-held shower head. Steve-N-Tyler rocked the work. There were some issues behind the wall, which they did their best to ameliorate. We'll have to follow up with a contractor for that work, but the plumbing work seems well-done. read more

My son was terminated from this company after he showed up everyday on time and worked hard for them and was told his final paycheck had been mailed. More than 10 days later, it still had not arrived. We called several times simply trying to find out where his paycheck was and whether a replacement check could be issued if the original had been lost in the mail. When I contacted the office, I was treated very rudely. I explained that my son was waiting for wages he had earned and that we were trying to pay our bills, but I was told there was nothing they could do because the payroll person was out sick. When I asked if someone could cancel the original check and issue another one, I was told no and the secretary Carol hung up on me. My Son has not received his money. Everyone deserves to be treated with courtesy and respect, especially when trying to receive wages they have already earned. I hope Streamline Plumbing improves its communication and customer service in situations like this. read more

1. While the on-demand water heater was selected by the architect and builder, Streamline's master plumber (who was ultimately terminated) was responsible for installation and making sure the system actually worked. That didn't happen. The unit installed (rated at 2.2 GPM) can't handle normal, simultaneous use. A 1.75 GPM shower works fine on its own, but the moment you turn on a second fixture--like the sink faucet--the temperature in both drops by 10+ degrees within seconds. This should have been caught during basic testing. (2. The same plumber also left issues with the shower not draining properly.) Streamline's newly hired master plumber weeks later came out to address some of these issues, tested the system, and confirmed that the water heater is undersized for the application. Despite identifying the issue, I have not received any follow-up or assistance from him either. A licensed electrical engineer confirmed that the electrical panel can handle a larger-capacity unit. Streamline/Brian the owner knows this. I've been trying to reach Streamline for several weeks to coordinate a properly sized replacement--something I've already offered to pay the difference--but have not received a response. Interestingly, when my husband called, the call was returned the same day. We were supposed to have heard back after they connected with the Rheem rep but they've they gone cold. As have we. 3. Separately, the shower arm and head were installed too low, and the fixture started pulling away from the wall shortly after installation, reportedly because "something fell inside the wall." This was fixed after I sent a photo of the falling fixture. At this point, I would appreciate a direct response so we can resolve this and move forward. 4. Lastly, they also charged close to $500 to unclog a toilet with a snake. read more

The OWNER charged me $400 for 2 hours...just for the labor to install a faucet I supplied. 2 hours to install a faucet included time taken to reverse / correct an installation problem caused by the tech that I caught and identified AS AELL AS time to find a drill bit for drilling the tile in our bathroom. Nicest possible person but totally unprepared. I expected the tech for a Commerical install to have the drill bits required and to know how to properly install a faucet. Would steer well clear of this company. read more

What a terrible experience just trying to get my kitchen drain unclogged. The guy shows up with a $25 drain snake drain from home depot which didn't work. In the middle of the job, he spent 30 minutes driving back to the office to get tools that he should have been carrying with him in the first place. Some of his tools didn't work or were broken. He ended up using my hose, using my drain snake and needing my help to complete the job. I called the office the next business day to try to talk down the price and was met with a lot of unnecessary resistance and back talk. I was even charged for the time the guy went back to the office. So much for customer service. I would recommend a different company. read more

Very nice technician tried his best on two trips to figure out how to fix a clogged kitchen faucet. I ended up fixing the clogged faucet myself. All that was needed was to clean the clogged hose under the sink. Not sure why that wasn't done by the technician? Pleasant office person forgot to return my call concerning the charges for not fixing the faucet and let me know the good deal I got on time and trip charges to not fix the issue. read more

We found wet carpet in our finished basement near a pipe feeding the outside garden hose hookup. Based on a suggestion from my wife's quilting classmate, we contacted Streamline. Phone answered on first ring and appointment was set up for an estimate the next day. Plumber John arrived as scheduled and not only made an estimate, he completed a repair replacing a section of pipe and a failed valve in less than two hours. Friendly, competent and reasonable charge. We will definitely use them again if needed and highly recommend the company! Called to inquire about services for my business. I asked ,"if they do work for businesses." The woman on the other end of the line replied ," Do we DO BUSINESSES? Don't you mean commercial?" in an irritated and condescending tone. I had the phone on speaker and when my husband heard her speak to me that way he interjected never mind and ended the call. I was calling because I saw all of the positive reviews on Yelp and typically that's a good indicator of the service. Unfortunately for this company the woman who answers their phones deterred us from getting a bid. As a business owner myself I understand how important first impressions are. I would recommend customer service training for the woman who fields the calls - or perhaps just another person. This woman sounded middle aged and you would think by that time customer service in any field would be a given. read more

Everything was great with the plumber's visit, with one important exception, that I'll get to below. He showed me the tool he used to clear the drains, which he said costs $3 at Home Depot. That was great. I've already gone out and bought one. He also gave me the option of getting a garbage disposal at Home Depot instead of buying it from him, which saves me about $150. This is fantastic. He was very professional, courteous, and I believe he did a good job (we'll see if everything is working right over the next several days). HOWEVER, there was a significant miscommunication over the phone with their receptionist about how they charge. I was told $100 per hour, with a $100 minimum, for labor. (Parts are extra, of course.) But when the plumber wrote up the invoice, he said that whenever tools are used, there is a $100 minimum per task. I would never have made this appointment if I had known this is how they intended to charge. As a homeowner, I don't know what tasks will require tools and what won't, and we had several tasks lined up to be taken care of in one visit. Luckily, the plumber was sympathetic and he contacted the owner, who let him charge me for time just the way the receptionist had explained it. So it all worked out well for me. Since the plumber was so great overall, I would recommend them, but only if you get very, very specific with the receptionist on the phone about how they charge for labor. Maybe even ask her to email the rates in advance. It could well be that they will change their policies after this experience that I had. So I don't want to steer people away from them, just be careful about their rates. read more

Brian was friendly, professional, and offered some really good proactive solutions so that I wouldn't need a plumber to come out and clean some drains that frequently stop up. His charges seemed reasonable at the time. Different problem, different house, and I called Streamline again to see if they could do a service call. I explained my problem to Brian over the phone and he was able to help me without making a service call. That's great customer service. He could have come out just to charge for a visit, but instead he saved me some money. Will definitely call Streamline next time I need a plumber. read more

In my last review, I didn't have any reason to give the 5th star. Now I do. I called them up to track down a mysterious leak in my basement. The guy they sent out said it looked like the water heater would need to be replaced. So, I scheduled for a different technician to come change it out for me. Fortunately for me, the tech that came out was Brian, the owner. He looked at my water heater sitting in a puddle and noticed that it was kind of young to be leaking so badly. Upon further investigation, it turned out it was a hose under my sink leaking into the wall and puddling under the heater, which caused it to look like my heater had gone bad when, in fact, it hadn't. Because he was so vigilant with his initial searching, I didn't have to spend $800 on a new water heater. I spent $40 on new sink hoses. Awesome. Also, the lady that answers the phone (who has a name I'm sorry I can't remember... maybe Holly?) was a pleasure to deal with. She knew what she was on about, and was super pleasant. read more

I was impressed. I called on a Saturday afternoon and Brian answered the phone. Two other companies that I left voice mails for on Sat still have not called me back (1 week later). Brian told me that he would be at my house Monday morning at 7:30 and that the price for the repair would be around $170. Guess what? Streamline Plumbing is not what it used to be when owner Brian Wirth did the plumbing himself. He was fair, competent, and honest. That has all changed now that others perform the work. I was recently charged $462 to replace the flappers on two toilets (work that a handy man could have done). How did such a minor repair cost so much? There were two reasons: 1) Streamline sent two people to my home to do the work and charged me labor for both workers. (When they arrived, I told them that I was only paying for one person to do the minor repairs). 2) It was an old toilet that required ordering the parts. After examining the toilet, the two workers drove back to their shop (or perhaps a local plumbing supply business). They found that they did not have the needed parts, so drove back to my home to explain the situation to me. The parts were then ordered online. It would, of course, have made more sense for them to call the local supplier ahead of time, rather than driving to the facility and then back to my home, but that would have been more efficient and reduced the bill to a reasonable level for the replacement of a couple toilet flappers. read more

We had just moved into a new house and started the day with a clogged toilet. We tried everything and finally gave in and called Streamline based off their other reviews. They were able to come within 20 minutes. Unfortunately it ended up being much more involved than simple clog. Someone had flushed a towel of some sort and what seemed like a simple fix turned into a 3-hour, two-man job. After exhausting several solutions, they were able to push it out to the main and cleared everything. They recommended an affordable toilet to replace the old one that was pretty much broken saying that it would cost more if they tried to repair themselves. While it was an unpleasant move-in upgrade we weren't expecting, these guys handled it professionally and tried to move as quickly as possible. They definitely saved us in a pinch! read more

We just had Streamline Plumbing do several different jobs for us including the installation of a new water heating system that is far more efficient and delivers much more hot water than we have ever had in the 20 years we have lived in this house. While I understand that Brian, the owner does not actually do all the work anymore, he came to our house specifically to discuss this issue as well as another one that was puzzling me, what kind of a soaking tub to install in my upstairs bathroom. Brian made a special trip on each one of these occasions to make sure that we understood what we were buying, and that it was indeed what we wanted. The people who work for him are efficient, capable and pleasant to have in the house. We have always use Streamline and will continue to use them for all our plumbing needs. Contacted Streamline to perform an "air pressure test" on my gas lines that was being required by Xcel Energy to hook up a gas meter. It is a very simple test that can easily be done on your own, however Xcel requires a licensed plumber to do the test. After speaking with Streamline, they stated it should not take any longer than 1 hour for the test, so I scheduled the appointment. It actually took them 30 minutes. I am fine with paying for a minimum of an hour or even for drive time, but I received a bill for 2 hours of plumber labor at $120/hour! ($240) Their hourly rate is quite a bit higher than other plumbers in the area and they seemed to have beefed up the billable time as well. After confronting them, they did adjust the bill 30 minutes, but I will definitely be going elsewhere next time. I would beware of using them. read more

I recently remodeled my kitchen and powder room, and went in search of bids for plumbers, to uninstall my sink and faucet, and then install my new faucets. I solicited bids from Precision Plumbing and Brothers Plumbing, and discovered that they are WAY OVERCHARGING!!!!!!! When I calculated the hourly rates from their bids, I discovered that they were charging more than my very expensive attorney! They even charged me for a visit to my house to give me a bid for the work. I asked around at work and discovered Streamline Plumbing, from Longmont. They gave me an estimate over the phone, did the work at a fair price, a fraction of Precision's quote, they were prompt, and their work was sound and good. No "Boulder-West-of-Broadway" premium. I had them back several months later for an outside faucet repair, and they did a great job at a fair price, promptly, again. They are in my contacts list as the plumbers of choice! read more

In some ways I am hesitant to write a glowing review because they will just get busier and I want to keep them as my personal secret. I have used this plumbing firm multiple times on a variety of jobs at my house. They are very responsive, always do good quality work, and are very pleasant to work with. They also have always cleaned up well after each job. They aren't the cheapest but as I said, they do quality work and seem very knowledgable.
