Our tenant notified us about a pipe that had started leaking water in the basement. Some former neighbors recommended I contact Around the Clog. I contacted them via text message and sent them also a few photos, they replied within a couple of hours and gave information about the trip fees, hourly rate and availability. Brief update: I continue to get excellent service from them. In recent months I've had them replace a kitchen faucet, clear out a sluggish kitchen drain, and replace the bathtub valves in the master bath. I enjoy working with Doug because he is very thorough and makes sure he understands the problem before he applies a fix. Terrible experience. I scheduled on a Thursday for a leak from our upstairs bathroom to the kitchen. They said they could come on Monday at 11:30am. It was a non-emergency, because we cut the water and nothing was currently leaking. I called Monday at 11:50am because nobody contacted me or showed up. Renee told me they were running behind. I called again at 2:30pm. Renee said she'd just spoken with the owner and he was just at my house and finished the job... I'd been in earshot of the door all day and nobody came by. I insisted they weren't at my house. She called him, then called me back and apologized profusely for this mix up. They offered to reschedule on Wednesday at 12:30pm. Come Wednesday, I get a call just about 12:30pm. Renee tells me the owner just told her that he doesn't service our area of Wesminster... WOW!!! Almost a week passed that I tried to give them my business, and they just BS'd me the whole week then told me they weren't coming. Very Friendly and Prompt Service Until an Issue Afterwards, then Nothing. We called Around the Clog to have two items taken care of: 1) The water pressure setting was a bit too low (45 pps) and needed to be increased to around 65 pps. 2) Our liquid propane grill needed to be converted to use natural gas. Heather, who helped us schedule the appointment was very friendly and scheduling was a breeze. Doug who performed the work was also quite friendly and seemed knowledgable about the work being done. The water pressure change went off without a hitch. Doug was also able to swap the liquid propane regulator to the grill with a natural gas regulator and tested that the burners worked. The next day when we were trying to use the grill we could not get the grill temperature above 250 degrees when we would normally have been able to get it to 500 pretty quickly. I left a couple messages with Heather to have Doug call me so I could see what he thought the problem was but never heard back from him. Afterward I did my own research on the Internet to see if others had the same problem I found that in addition to the regulator change the burner gas orifices also need to be changed to work with natural gas. If Doug new this, he did not mention it to me. If he didn't then perhaps he isn't as knowledgable as he seemed. Either way, it was a disappointment that probably could have been avoided. read more

Wow!!! What other plumbers told me couldn't be done without re-modeling my whole bathroom, Doug and his crew did it! I'm in a wheelchair and use a shower chair in bathtub because the stand-up shower was too narrow of a space for a wheelchair in our condo. All I wanted was to have a new bathtub faucet replaced so my handheld shower sprayer could be used. Since we have a Roman bathtub with only one handle for on/off & hot/cold that was a push-on faucet (not threaded like normal), plumbers from ALL AROUND Denver & Boulder were puzzled. Either they didn't call me back or they were trying to push us for an entire re-model of our bathroom. Doug came over yesterday and, in 4 hours, they found the adapters and installed a better handle and MADE SURE it was user-friendly for me. I would recommend them in a heartbeat. Awesome! Came out and tried to diagnose why my septic system was backing up. He quickly found that the breaker on the outlet that the pump is hooked to had blown simple as that. Great service. Our faucet was coming on automatically and running water. It was on a Friday night and we had to leave to go out of town on Sunday. They answered our questions with a text and assured us they can fix it in the morning. They had the parts and got it fixed and they knew where to turn the water off in our condominium building. I can't say enough nice things about Tonya and Doug. The week before Christmas, my little sister's water heater went out. She and her family went a week without hot water. I requested several bids on yelp to complete the job on a Saturday morning. Doug and his wife are awesome! I had a few questions regarding a garbage disposal. I knew I needed a new one and I had picked one out but I wasn't sure whether it would fit in my sink. I texted them asking for their advice, and they even asked for pictures to make sure. As it turns out, it wouldn't fit, so I ordered another one.
