After the tech left, I plugged in my old pump to troubleshoot it. Turned out my pump wasn't even bad! It worked just fine! The only problem was the electrical connection in the sump hole. Fast forward to today. Circuit breaker tripped and wouldn't reset. I removed the lid and pumped the water out to find the plug was water logged and shorted out. The problem is, since it is below ground, they were supposed to put it in a waterproof box! I called Erickson to give them the chance to correct the inferior plug installation and they told me they didn't want the chance and pretty much tough luck. So, I paid $1700 for a pump I didn't need and a bad plug installation that failed. Way to go Erickson! I guess I will fix your mistake now.

They installed a shielded rubber coupler with the pipes at an angle and a unshielded coupler outside. I called to ask about it, and instead of putting me in touch with an owner or supervisor the receptionist transferred me to the technician who did the repair. He said they do that because it's easier, it's fine and they will stand behind it for 30 days. Not what i expect for over $400. I won't use them again, and I wish I could add pictures of the " repair".

Between lost time and urgency, I needed to phone a professional. Drainmaster's reviews and location convinced me they were the best for this job. Additionally, 'drain' is in their name. I couldn't go wrong. Calling them around 2 pm, I fully expected them to come the next day or even two days out, preparing to spend fully $$$ on rental, cleaning, and fast food for the family. To my surprise, the scheduler was very kind and personable. She mentioned they were full for that day, but due to my near-shop location, they may be able to work me in. Sure enough, I received a call around 1600 with the drain professional (female!) about 19 minutes out. She arrived with her assistant (strong lad), and they began the work. I offered them shoe covers, but they had their own (I would have preferred they use my clean covers). After snaking for about half an hour, checking the drain length to the main stack, and confirming the flow with a leak test, they pronounced it clean, with a friendly smile. It was also good to see the workers getting along and working efficiently. It's not always the case with coworkers. I tested it myself once they left. Sure enough, it's clean! Final cost $280. Satisfied and happy customer here. If I have another issue like this, I will be sure to call.

The leak was a problem, and we needed new outer french drains. So plumber couldnt get the machine needed to dig for drain pipes, snd we found that up as he ripped up that part of lawn trying to get it through, so he dug by hand. In ripping up the grass/soil he damage our sprinkling systems we've had for over 15 years, we replaced that. I was uncomfortable about contacting these plumbers about this. Anyway this evolved, we had to get a restoration company to take care of potential mode along with damaged wallboard and wood.
