As a person in the service industry I am disappointed by the lack of professionalism and care taken by Mr. Rooter. From the beginning they rescheduled appointment to another day then no-showed on the 2nd day. On the 3rd attempt they showed up but didn't complete the request on the work order. We have downspouts that are clogged and not draining. I had asked to inspect the downspouts around the house but the tech seemed confident he had isolated the drainage issue to roots in one section pipe. I paid nearly $1000 to have roots removed from one section and the tech assured me this would solve our issue. Wrong. Fast forward almost 2 months later I wake up to water pouring in our basement. The downspouts overflowing and windows wells retaining water to the point that the water is entering the house into our fully finished basement. A tech was sent out who, this time, did a thorough job inspecting all downspouts and discovered a potentially crushed pipe. This tech was very apologetic and professional. He recommended hand digging and replacing a 10-15 ft section of pipe at a cost of $5-7k. He was able to reduce the cost some but it didn't sit well with me that I had already spent $1000 for the original tech to misdiagnose our issues. I asked for a refund of the oroginal 1k but was told I would need to speak with management. BBB complaint next. I want to point out, the 2nd tech did his job and was put into an impossible situation by the first tech. Use Mr Rooter at your own risk!! read more

The technician quoted me $468 to snake my drain and over $1000 if the jet was needed. I used Eco last year and they used a camera and it was under $200 for the main line to be snaked. I let the technician know and he did not offer coupons or anything else. People can't afford these prices in this Economy especially the middle class. The technician just said "I have another customer waiting in queue " so I'd make up my mind quickly. That was rude and the prices are way too high. read more

I requested a garbage disposal replacement for my home in Newark Ohio. Mr Rooter offered a no charge trip. They called me to tell me it would be $707 dollars to replace. I was shell shocked at the price. I called another company and they confirmed a price of 345 (130 for part and 215 for labor). that is half the price that Mr Rooter was trying to say it cost. to say it's highway robbery is an under-statement of the year. DONT GO WITH THEM FOR ANYTHING please! Check and recheck multiple quotes. read more

Beware, I believe I was scammed. Justin with Mr Rooter gave me a quote of $26,000.00 start to finish of the entire charge and assured me they would take care of everything. As a widow I believed him and have witnesses on him saying this. I just received a bill from a collection company stating I owed $5987.46 to Rainbow Restoration whom cleaned up after Mr Rooter contacted and contracted them when their part was done. I never contacted nor asked Rainbow Restoration's to do anything!!! Funny enough when you call Rainbow Restoration it's actually Mr Rooters phone number. I believe these possible sister companies have taken advantage of me and possibly many others as well. If you were taken advantage of please speak out and help me stop this scam on the widowed and elderly being taken advantage of! read more

Mr. Rooter Plumbing - Above & Beyond Isn't Even the Half of It I had one of those "everything breaks at once" days--my hot water tank failed right as another company was leaving after repairing my furnace. Newton's Law in full effect. I was already overwhelmed when Mr. Rooter arrived, but what happened next honestly restored my faith in what customer service can look like. Their technician came out, assessed the situation, and gave me clear options. The tank they could supply was pricey, but instead of pushing it, he told me I could buy my own and they'd install it. That alone was appreciated. But here's where they went so far above and beyond that I was genuinely moved. The technician followed me to two different stores, helped me haul the tank back home, and installed it. When he suspected the tank I purchased might be defective, he didn't shrug it off or leave me to deal with it. He talked to his manager, and together they decided--without me asking, hinting, or even hoping--that he would come back the next morning, disconnect the defective tank, take it back to the store for me, and reinstall the replacement AT NO EXTRA COST. Let me be clear: they would have been completely justified in charging me again. Business is business. But instead, they chose compassion, humanity, and understanding of the bigger picture. Coming from a large company, that level of care honestly made me cry. My uncle, cousins, and friends are all licensed plumbers and offered to do the job for free, but the technician's willingness to follow me to the stores and transport everything is why I didn't mind paying. He treated me like a person, not a transaction. Mr. Rooter has earned my business for life. Thank you to the technician, the manager, and the entire team. I'm not just grateful--I'm genuinely enlightened by the kindness you showed. read more

Antonio was very professional. Quick and efficient. I am very satisfied , would have him out to my home everytime

I was very satisfied with Mr. Rooter. I love it when I call and get an immediate response. The lady who called was very accommodating and had Josh out to my residence early Sunday morning. I was at ease because I could feel that Josh was very knowledgeable. He assessed the problem, told me what it was and how much it would cost. The cost was fair considering that it was a Sunday and I was very satisfied. I highly recommend Mr. Rooter for your Plumbing needs! read more

today we received a great service from the plumber whose name is ASA GORBY`COR FROM mr.rooter plumbing of columbus.

Still working issue after 7 days without plumbing always running off for other jobs not knowing what they are doing

We contacted Mr. Rooter and Joe Preist came out and did an inspection to find our water leak, he gave us an estimate for opening our ceiling and when he found a leaking pipe he contacted the restoration team and they took photos of the damage and came up with a game plan for the repair. This isn't the greatest new that you want just days before Christmas but it is what it is, Joe did a great job and we feel that we got a quality repair for a fair price. Joe worked his butt off for 2 days and replaced all of the damaged pipes. I hope not to have anymore problems for a long time but if we do, we will definitely be calling Mr. Rooter for any problem. read more

We had some issues with relatively new hot water tanks putting our "rusty" water. Will came out and replaced our Anode rods, did an extensive flush of the tanks and got everything back to normal. We really appreciated the prompt timing since it was two days before Christmas.......he was very professional and cleaned up everything nicely.......thanks Will......Merry Christmas! read more

Zack did a great job in completing our cabinet / sink. Would highly recommend. Thanks for a job well done.

Mr Rooter replaced our hot water heater. Their service technician Brian Quintana-Cor worked hard all day by himself and did a fine job. Brian was very professional and neat. This is the sixth time I have used Mr Rooter and I will use them again when the need arises. I recommend Mr Rooter to handle any plumbing needs you may have. read more

First of all we have used Mr Rooter services off and on for the last 15 years. we actually had two issues this time. Recently our shower stall in bathroom #1 had a leak, and the floor had to be replaced we utilized a contractor our insurance company referred (the contractor was a nightmare) they installed the new floor tile and reinstalled the toilet, however, every time the toilet was flushed it would make an extremely loud prolonged noise. Bathroom #2 had a toilet that just generally needed replaced. We did not want the insurance company's contractor back in our house ever again, so we called Mr Rooter. Their tech John arrived assessed the situations with both the toilets and proceeded to repair the one making noise and replaced the other one. John was knowledgeable, professional, friendly, personable and most importantly got the job done in a reasonable time. read more

The technician was great, and the work was completed successfully. I contacted them to have a kitchen faucet replaced. I had bought the faucet and it just needed to be installed. They only thing that needed to be replaced were the 2 flex lines. I was shocked to be charges $438. I believe that is way too much. Not sure I will use their service in the future. read more

I needed a water valve replacement so that I could have a washing machine installed. Much to my surprise Paul Tomayko came out to my home on Saturday, November 10, to do the work. In addition he installed an emergency shut off valve for the washtub faucet, ball valves, supply lines and a new faucet. Paul was very professional and explained everything to me and the cost before proceeding. Looks like everything is in order for my installation. I would not hesitate to use this company again for my plumbing needs. Thank you Kathleen W Cleveland OH read more

this company just wants to scam you. A leak turns into a possible $10000 bill thanks to all of their experts that have to come out after their original technician alerts them they want you to fix something. Asked for a water meter leak to be fixed. Got a you need to rip up your entire yard for issues that aren't actually there read more

When I first did a review for Mr. Rooter, it was right after installation of my new hot water heater and water softener. My experience was positive. However, now I am not sure I would recommend anyone. Customer service and standing behind the work is important - something Mr. Rooter does not apparently do. I had an issue resulting from the installation work and had scheduled an appointment. No one showed up - no one even called. That is rude and shows total lack of concern for the customer. Mr. Rooter obviously only cares about the money. As for value, they were expensive. read more

We have used Mr. Rooter for many years and they have always done a great job. They send technicians timely- usually same day. They are always polite, and knowledgeable. Recently had frozen water spigots and Mr. Blankenship came out and offered several solutions. There was no pressure to select one over the other. He did a great job on the repairs and explained everything as he went along. Would definitely recommend! read more

Wanna flush money down the toilet? Call these guys. After their first visit, I felt good about them. They came on a Friday evening and seemed very knowledgeable and professional. But after a few visits, I realized they were not. The original ask was to find the source of a leak and repair it. We spent more than $XXXX on fixing it. They referred us to their sister company, Rainbow Restoration, to remove the mold in the basement ceiling caused by the leak(s). The plumber noticed that the a leak got into the subflooring of one of our bathrooms and that it would need to get ripped out and replaced. That was something we needed insurance for, and we were directed to a Rainbow Restoration employee who was referred to a "pit bull" when it came to dealing with insurance. We tried repeatedly to connect him with the claims adjuster, and they never ended up speaking to each other--the pit bull didn't bark or even whimper. We had to choose not to repair that because the insurance adjuster never got a clear understanding of the claim--I don't speak plumbing--and denied it. Fast forward a couple of weeks, and there was still a leak, from the same place they repaired. We called them out and they charged us full price for fixing it--WTF. And then they had the nerve to tell us that they could do an entire bathroom renovation (for a ridiculous price). And their sister company, Rainbow Restoration, charged us a boatload just to set up a dehumidifier and a fan (I could have done that with my dehumidifier and fan myself); they didn't even replace the tiny little molded panel in the basement ceiling, they just attempted to dry it out. And with the bathroom still leaking, it got saturated again. They wouldn't even come out. read more

We requested quotes from 4 contractors because we had a leak from our main drain pipe in the basement. Mr Rooter responded quickly, and provided useful information about the options. Travis and his technician arrived on time, and the work turned out as expected. They were clean, professional, respectful and efficient. If you need quality work done at a reasonable cost, I highly recommend Mr Rooter. read more

I called Mr. Rooter to flush my basement sewer lines. During the process I was told there was an obstruction and they needed to use a camera to evaluate the problem. After the evaluation I was told that I had a collapsed drainage pipe. The cost of the flush and camera evaluation was $963.89. The estimate for the repair of the collapse line was $4811.62. I ultimately completed the repair with another company. There was no collapsed pipe. It was entirely normal. This cost me in total $4928.09 for a problem diagnosed by Mr. Rooter which did not exist. Was it incompetence or was it dishonesty? read more

Always a good experience . Professional and courteous service , and I'm confident the work was done correctly!

Will Huffman and his supervisor, Joe, did a very thorough inspection including a smoke test to determine the cause of sewer gas smell in the house. I called to have a water feed replaced for a refrigerator. Tom was there in 1/2 hour. Got everything done in 2 hours. Left the place clean. Gave good direction and advice. My review: DO NOT USE!! I had a pipe freeze and called because my typical plumber could not come out. The pipe had not burst and rather than risk it I decided to pay a "professional" to come thaw it out for me. Neither toilet or shower would work. By the time they left I had a hole in my basement wall which they charged me $1800 for and left all the stone laying in my basement. They essentially created a window in my basement and made no attempt to block it when they left. The man said he couldn't figure out how the plumbing in my house was run and that he couldn't fix the shower or toilet. I tried to explain how it was connected (bathroom is right above kitchen and the plumbing lines connect. I know because of work with previous plumber) and he told me no I was wrong. He charged me $2000 for the call and told me to go stay with someone because he couldn't fix the problem. Two days later had a different company come out and they fixed the problem in less than an hour and charged me 350. When I explained what had happened with Mr.Rooter I was told that they work on commission and that I was taken advantage of by the employee. We have tried to reach out to the company for a refund but have not had success. DO NOT USE!! read more
