Five Star Painting is Five Stars! I cannot speak highly enough about Five Star Painting! This is saying something given that my husband and I are both quite picky about most things. We had our 1,400 square foot condo painted, and it was a brilliant job. We've wanted to do this for more than a year, and with both of us now working from home, found this an opportune time. However, there was also concerns about coronavirus, and having people in my home. FSP Rep Colson was very understanding of my concerns about being safe. I know it's a focus of this company's as well. We found the staff to be friendly, conscientious, and very good at their jobs. The entire team was great. The person taping the baseboards, doors, and windows was so incredibly precise and fast. The lead painter was amazing. While on stilts, he painted a perfect freehand edge at the top of every wall. Freehand! When we made suggestions or requests, they were more than happy to comply. With a smile. The team wanted to make sure we were happy with our home. This team went above and beyond to make sure we were completely happy. Now at the end of this job, we're completely in love with the colors we've chosen, and the beautiful way they were applied to the walls of our home. I will not hesitate to recommend Five Star Painting to my family and friends. In fact, I already have! High quality work, professional staff, and reasonably priced. We could not be happier. In past years I have used Five Star to paint the interior (2 yrs ago) and exterior (last year) of the house I bought after moving back to Ohio a couple years ago. This year I had them wash, sand and paint my back deck. it looks great. They were very prompt and got it done just in time for the first child weather of the year. They always do a great job and clean up thoroughly. I will continue to use them when I need painting done. read more

I wish I was able to upload the photos of all of the issues and problems caused by five star painting. Unfortunately I was out of town while they were performing the service so I did not get to see that they had no coverings on anything in my home. My baseboards, floor, doors, door frames, staircase, carpet, tile, vanities, everything in my home was covered in speckled/drips/smears of paint. I had numerous issues with the project manager, Peyton. Peyton showed up late a number of times (over an hour on 3 separate occasions) and argued that he couldn't see the problems that I was showing him, he said maybe I had better eyesight. Larry the owner as well as general manager pushed off all of my calls onto Payton even when I told him that Peyton was unable to provide solutions to all of the problems his company had caused. If I could give zero stars I would. Please look at another company in your local area, trying to figure out a resolution was horribly difficult being they are a franchise. Moving into a new home is hard enough without having to deal with this company and all of the added stress they caused. The project took twice as long as anticipated due to the many issues, they tried to up charge me a second time for more coats of paint even though the painters told me they didn't do the 3 coats I paid for and cost an arm and a leg. I have another company I had to hire to come out and fix all of the problems Five Star Painting caused. Save yourself and run in the other direction! read more

Five Star was GREAT from the get-go! John, who came to check it out and give me a price. I was able to call or text with the scheduler Peyton. They were able to get me scheduled when it worked for me. Then, followed up the week prior to make sure we were on track. Peyton and his crew arrived day 1 and did a walk thru and began. I had all walls, trim and doors painted and they did it in 4 days. The crew was awesome. They arrived when they said they would and left when they said each day. They really didn't need anything from me. Very professional and did an awesome job. I could not be happier. Larry and Peyton came for my final walk-thru and were amazing. Five Star Painting, Plain City, Ohio just spent a couple of projects for me recently. One; fixing the ceiling of my family room, it needed some unstripping, stripped and the repainting the entire ceiling. Two striping all the woodwork in both floor and painting it white. Painting three bedrooms, one bathroom, kitchen and living room. That was done in two days! Larry Kuhn was there both days ensuring everything was done correctly. Larry was great to work with! He went over and beyond in making sure we got what we imagined our house would look like. He made extra trips and even dropped off and additional sample of paint because I had a last minute change of mind. He kept me posted and sent me texts as well, while I was at work to show what the house was looking like after they began work on it. Five Star Painting in name only. I recently hired Five Star Painting to paint 2.5 bathrooms at my residence. The salesman was very friendly and easy to work with, but it was the overall painting experience why they only got one star. We really like the color of the paint on the walls, but that's about the only joy we got from this experience. The painter did not use any painter's tape while painting, used very few, if any drop cloths in the bathrooms and left paint splatters EVERYWHERE when finished. When I say everywhere, I mean everywhere....there was paint splatters on the sink, doors, faucets, toilets (handle, lid, bowl, tank and tank cover), vanity top, light bulbs, outlets, inside the outlet, light switches, ceiling, floor, trim, baseboards, door frame, blinds, the carpet in the master bedroom and even on my bed frame! Now I know there will be paint splatters here and there when painting, but this was more than just a few splatters. My wife and I spent close to 5 hours cleaning up the mess after the painters left. The painter also broke an outlet cover, blew a fuse which they didn't tell me about it and left the toilet bowl full of toilet paper they used to wipe up paint. The company did comeback and do touch up painting and knocked $50 off my total price, but to me that wasn't worth the headache of having to clean up the mess in the first place. For what I paid, I was not impressed at all with this company and wouldn't recommend or use them in the future. read more

I asked the company to paint the main living room, ceiling and master bedroom. Living room has some very difficult areas due to layout of the room. The room isn't a typical 4 room wall. The painters were friendly and nice. The painters were very professionally. Prior to them starting, I clean both rooms and when painters were finished, both rooms remained as clean even with ceiling being painted. Would highly recommend. The only critiques I would have is related to communication. After initial consult, I wanted almost 2 weeks and didn't receive any communication from company besides a thank you card. I had to call scheduling. During consultation, I've also decided what colors to use. That information wasn't pass along. Luckily, I asked the consultant to send me color codes via text, When the job was finished, a company representative did a final walk through with me, which was nice but got awkward at end when he asked how I'm going to pay? I setup interest free monthly payments plan with the consult. The rep replied back "sorry, I'm not told these things". I would assume that he would know. Overall, the painting work was great, communication was little below average. read more
