Ok these guys are not as cheap as your wife's Brother In Law's cousin but...... This is the 2nd time in as many years that we used them. This time it was a rush situation for our Open House. They sent "Lon" out. Hope that was his correct name and this guy was as good or better than the two guys who came out 2 years ago. Very conscientious , helpful and really helped us cover my Buckeye Scarlet And Gray room back to a attractive, sellable bedroom. A light neutral color, he had to work to cover the Scarlet. Sadly he did a great job no more Buckeyes but a great 3 BR Condo in Grove City For Sale. I need to mention that originally I contacted Jenifer in her office her guys were booked and she apologized. On her OWN time, she checked some of her other offices, and found Patrick who got to us quick and got us done as promised. What happened to this company? I was very pleased with my first experience, and spent 10k on a huge project. The paint in some places started peeling about a year in. They came back to repair the damage and ended up painting my deck THE WRONG COLOR. The deck was green. My fence is the white color you see. So...he sort of painted it white but I guess he got tired around the railing spindles. I am awfully mad because I paid them money to come back and FIX THE WORK THAT SHOULD HAVE LASTED more than a couple years, right? I guess the joke's on me. read more

Had multiple communication issues between the estimator, scheduling department and the service crew. When the estimator came out I told them I wanted walls and doors all painted the same color. I received the estimate and it had a different paint listed for the doors. I asked why it was different and he explained that it was just a different finish but still the same color. It wasn't. He had the doors quoted as a completely different color so when he finally corrected the issue the original estimate went up in price even though that's what I requested in the first place. I still proceeded with the project and the day they were supposed to start (I was told 9 am) he didn't show up. I called the office and they reached out and said he was running late and would be there by 11. When he arrived he immediately apologized and said he had a family issue which is completely understandable but a phone call would have helped. He started the work and I left him to do his business but at one point I noticed he went out to his truck and didn't come back in the house for an extended period of time. I happened to look out the window and noticed he was spraying my driveway with a hose. I went outside to see what was going on and he spilled a can of paint in my driveway. I didn't complain but he immediately apologized and said he was going to request a discount for being late and the paint spill. The job was finished in two days and the quality of work was acceptable but again it was the poor communication. The office contacted me the following Monday to ask about the experience and I told them everything that happened and I was told a discount would be requested on my behalf. Again this discount was offered to me, I never requested anything but the office responded that he was within the designated arrival time and they would only apply a discount if the paint couldn't be cleaned from the driveway. This is not what he told me and if he didn't have the authority to offer discounts to customers he shouldn't have made the comment in the first place. read more

Painted the exterior of my house about a year ago . It is 80% stucco. They did stucco repair which was halfass. They are more concerned about doing a number of jobs each day them quality f work right the first time. Painters were painting in the dark to finish up and asked me to approve there work when I could barely see the house. It took three trips to get paint steaks out of my garage door pair Job. This company is more interested in sales than doing the job. It would be helpful if someone in the job site spoke English enough to communicate with homeowners. I would avoid them read more

I hired Certapro to paint my stucco house. At first everything was normal and a guy (I'm assuming a subcontractor) came out and painted the place. The account manager I was working with lived in the area, and actually saw the place before I did when it was finished and I was still at work. He called me, told me that he wasn't happy with the finished product, and told me they would start over (for the same originally agreed upon price). He scraped some samples of paint off my house, had a lab look at potential root causes, and determined the original coat of paint put on the house when it was built was contaminated, leading to subsequent coats peeling. Certapro spent the time to scrape off all the paint that had ever been on the house, then repaint it. Overall they had to have spent 80 man hours on the job. It looks outstanding now. They really took care of me and I'm very glad I went with them. I cannot recommend them enough. read more

My wife and I decided to get the shutters and front door on our house repainted after 7.5 years. They were looking a little faded and we wanted it done professionally. We hired Certapro to do the job and it looks great! Everything happened pretty quick. I didn't expect to go from the bid to having the paint on the house as quickly as we did. The process was very smooth from the initial bid to getting a call a few days later to scheduling a date/time appointment (we hadn't even agreed on a color yet so we had to call them back when we were ready), then the job was scheduled within a few days of our decision. I appreciated that it was a no-pressure environment. When the office called, she just told me to let her know when we were ready. They kept in touch once the job was assigned to a paint crew, then the head of the crew called me to let me know they were coming out. The crew was really friendly and professional. With our busy schedules, fearing that they might be late, we were surprised when they actually showed up a little early to start the job! AVOID THIS COMPANY. AVOID THIS COMPANY. I had CertaPro give me an estimate to paint six shutters and my front door. The sales person seemed very knowledgeable and professional. Once the painting crew arrived on 04/01/2019 ( April Fool's Day) work was completed. I looked at the website the salesperson provided me, reading the information on the recommended paint again. I noticed the paint can label online was a different color than the one the painters used on my home. The paint the painting crew used on the exterior of my home was INTERIOR paint!! I have no words to express my thoughts on that. The crew repainted my shutters and front door with the correct exterior paint. Once the crew left, I inspected the paint job a bit more. To my disappointment, the one painter just slopped black paint all over my white trim around the shutters on the second floor. I had to climb onto the porch roof, use cleaner and a magic eraser to clean the trim surrounding my shutters. Again, the sales crew was professional and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, they don't have painting staff that exhibits an attention to detail. They used interior paint on the exterior of my home and did a sloppy job. AVOID frustration and AVOID this company. OMG ...the owner of the company, Dan, called me trying to resolve the problem. I guess CERTAPRO is the victim. He asked if I ever make mistakes. He told me I should have contacted him and not post on social media. The painter did a sloppy job on my four upstairs shutters. Dan kept saying the painter made a mistake on one of them. Let me start off by saying I was super impressed with the fact that CertaPro has a lead foreman that comes to the job before the painters start and come back out when the painting crew is finished. NOT that in any way did I feel like I couldn't trust the painters, BUT you rarely see this during any contracted job. Normally, the salesperson makes the sale, and the contracted works come and go. I really felt like CertaPro was concerned about my job from start to finish. This is a distinction that I hope this company always holds on to because this truly sets them apart from their competition! When it comes to the painters that completed my job, I cannot say enough good things about them. Not only are they very good at their craft, but they are exceptional people! They constantly made sure what was being done was what we wanted, and they genuinely cared to meet our expectations throughout the project. After the job, they cleaned up with a level of precision and care that you just don't see anymore! I am extremely picky, so trust me that says a lot. At the end of the day, a company name means nothing without exceptional representation, and the crew that completed our job represented CertaPro very well! That is what customer service is all about. I can truthfully say, we have been left in awe. We are thankful to the crew and for the positive experience!! I would highly recommend these guys! This review in NO WAY reflects the OUTSTANDING job the subcontractors that CertaPro hired to paint our house did. They were awesome, however, the employees that actually work for CertaPro are not. My husband took an entire day off work because we were told they do not paint the interior of houses on weekend days (we were having our living room and upstairs hallway painted). We were told the paint crew would arrive between 8-9am. At 9:45am no one has been to our house yet so I call the Columbus office. Their phone is RINGING BUSY (oh freaking great...really?) so I call the 800 number listed on the internet and go ahold of a really nice lady at corporate office. I asked her where our paint crew is at and she says she will need to get ahold of someone at the Columbus office and call me back (yay!). Sometime after 10 a gentleman calls my husband (I was at work so I asked them to please call him because he was the one that had been waiting on the crew now for over 2 hours) and informs him that our crew had the green apple splatters but they should be able to get a crew to us around 1-2pm. After he informs us he can have a crew to us around 1-2pm he asks if we would rather reschedule. UHHHHHHH no?? We took a day off just for this. Our furniture is stacked in the kitchen and the middle of our living room BECAUSE YOU SAID THAT WAS WHAT NEEDED TO BE DONE AND YOU'RE NOT HERE. Didn't even bother to freaking call us and tell us, we had to call you (very unprofessional and just plain rude). 2pm rolls around, no paint crew (shocking). We call back. They inform us they have a crew that will paint and they will be calling us. ASKS AGAIN IF WE WOULD LIKE TO RESCHEDULE. I don't know who your normal clients are, but we are accustomed to people showing up when they tell us. We understand that things happen, but when you don't even bother to call your customers to inform them of any issues, it looks 100% like you do not value your customers or care about their time. Again, no we don't want to reschedule. Send them. Painters call they get there AFTER 5pm. I will say, the painters did get straight to work. They were extremely nice even though they had been working all day, and I'm sure the last thing they wanted to do was come to my house this late because Certapro messed up. The painters did an excellent job. They got my entire living room done (both coats) so that we could start putting the room back together and not have furniture strewn all other the house (I love them for this because I am so weird about things being out of place). They also started the trim in the upstairs hallway and only stopped because they ran out of paint (I bought my own paint because I'm particular about is used in my house but I was told by the Certapro salesman that I would only need 2, 3 at the absolute most--I needed 4). They came back WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD ON THURSDAY and finished the job, and did a heck of a good job too. I would def use this subcontractor crew again BUT NEVER IN MY LIFE would I use Certapro for anything else I may need (and we have at least 4 other rooms that we are going to get done). By the way, Certapro never followed up to make sure anyone had came to our house. They never followed up to see if we were happy with the work that was done. What the hell Certapro. Not what I was expecting from a company that had a 5 star rating. read more

From the very beginning, Jason was so helpful and knowledgeable with what we were looking to accomplish in our home. Sarah was incredibly responsive and organized, we were even able to get the painters in two weeks ahead of schedule. Ray and Renee were fantastic from start to finish! The interior of our home looks beautiful. They are incredibly skilled and take pride in their work. They also had me cracking up every time I came to check how things were going! I would not have this company again. Our board contracted them to paint our complex shutters, garage doors and front doors, and to paint our building front porch moldings, Etc. They began the job on the date they had agreed upon, worked a few days and then had a family emergency and were gone two weeks. When they did return there were just one or two workers at a time and one guy was on his cell phone constantly and got very little done. On my building they've painted three sets of shutters and left one unpainted. Instead of knocking on people's front doors, or making arrangements to paint the front door when a resident can be home, these painters think it's okay to paint your front door when it's shut. Then when you open your door you've got a stripe all the way around the door that is the color of the old door. They are very intermittent about their work and I can't imagine when this job is going to get done. Very very disappointing. read more

I recently hired CertaPro of Columbus to paint my fence. The whole process was great. To start, they allowed me plenty of time to pick colors and even covered the cost of some samples from my local Sherwin-Williams store. Once we decided on a color, and after they power washed my fence, two very professional and easy-to-work-with painters arrived when they said they would and completed the job thoroughly and safely. Painting was completed in 2 days (fast) not sure if 2 coats were applied thru-out, some areas look like they need an additional coat. Got some splatter on sliding doors that needs cleaned. I also didn't get any left over/extra paint for my deck which already needs touching up. I was also told by previous customers that a final inspection would occur. Haven't heard from anybody at certapro since job was completed. Got my final inspection 10-24-13. All issues have been resolved to our satisfaction. My experience with CertaPro Painters was amazing! From start to finish, I received quality customer care. Kevin went through all of the options for painting, walked me around my house to make sure we didn't miss any details, and clearly explained pricing. They sent a color specialist to help me select the exact paint that I wanted, and she spent a ton of time with me because I was very indecisive. Dan, the owner, came out a couple times to make sure everything was going as planned, and even saved me from a potential fire due to old electrical wiring!!! And the painters, Walter and Donald, were super friendly! Again, they explained every detail of what they were doing, and did a quality job! We had our exterior trim painted. First they had to fire the sub contractor that was assigned to our job because he said he was working but never showed up. A week later the next crew shows up they do a good job with the paint. They are fast and courteous but they got paint splatter all over the driveway. They trampled many of our flowers. Got paint on the rest. When I spoke to management about it they said they would take care of it and refund some of the money. Turns out I just received a later saying sorry we didn't meet your expectations. consider us for your next project. read more

Certa Pro just painted the interior of my home which is only 2 years old. The builder had us put in Flat paint due to new construction having nail pops and settling. However, the home always looked dull. We like a little more sheen to the paint. We reached out to several painting companies and the Dan the Franchise owner came to our home and walked us through the pros and cons of the paint sheens. We asked about sub-contractors that they use and he stated that they only keep the best, and stated that the job must be done to our satisfaction. The two gentlemen that came to our house Juan an Julio were fantastic. The house looks great, I couldn't be happier. They asked if they could work 12 hour shifts to if we wanted to get the job done sooner. Well they did, they are very hard workers, they paid attention to detail, cleaned up every night and put all furniture back in their places. I would definitely recommend using them. AVOID THIS COMPANY. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I contracted Certapro to paint the exterior of my house. I was told they would pressure wash the exterior then paint. I was told the job would take 3 days from beginning to end. They ended up pressure washing my house twice and they still did a poor job. RED FLAG. Day one the paint crew showed up at 5 PM on Friday to start the job. RED FLAG. The foreman Shawn Smith introduced himself and his crew then explained that he had some family issues going on. RED FLAG. We went over the contract and and he pointed out everything that wasn't in my contract and told me how much it would be for him to do it on the side payable in CASH only. RED FLAG. There were two experienced painters and a new guy. The new guy didn't even know how to scrape paint and the foreman had to correct everything he did. RED FLAG. The painters prepped and painted the house until it got dark. I was told they would be back early the following day. Saturday and Sunday no call, no show. RED FLAG. The paint crew showed up at 10 AM on Monday. The foreman explained to me that he had some family issues going on that he had to handle and that was the reason I hadn't seen or heard from him over the weekend. During the course of the day Monday there were several different painters that the foreman introduced as his cousins. RED FLAG. They'd paint for a while then disappear. The crew worked until just before dark. The following day it rained, however the foreman came out to pressure wash my porch and patio. During the course of our conversation the foreman commented on the Ohio State football game that had taken place the previous Saturday. He then offered me an apple that he said they had picked that Sunday from a local orchard. I wish they would have painted my house instead of watching football games and picking apples. Day 6 the paint crew worked until dark to finish painting my house. The foreman told me that he would be back the following day no later than 11 AM to finish the job and do touch ups. I didn't hear from the foreman until 1 PM when he called and told me that he was having issues with his rental office and his living arrangements. RED FLAG. The paint crew shows up at 6:15 PM to do touch ups however they didn't bring a ladder. Day 8 the painters showed up to finish the touch ups. They brought a new guy who had not been there the previous 7 days. The foreman introduced him as being his uncle. I was inside the house when the foreman knocked on the door asking me did I want them to paint my entire air conditioner or just the top. I stepped outside and the paint crew had painted half of my entire air conditioner. I never ask them to paint my air conditioner. My air conditioner is only 2 years old. I informed the foreman that the paint needed to be removed from air conditioner. There's not a day that went by that I didn't consider firing the paint crew and asking them to vacate my property. I regret not stopping them before they even started. I would never hire or recommend this company to anyone. In addition the foreman tries to contract jobs outside of Certapro, however I would be cautious dealing directly with him. read more

I appreciate this company. They were professional from the minute I called them until the end of the job. They use contractors who call and make the homeowner aware of when they are showing up the day before and then they actually showed up. They really did a great job. No ladder marks, no brush marks. The kept their work zones clean and safe. They sent around the regional managers to make sure everyone was happy and safe and I was pleased. Professional company and I will use them again. read more

The Crew chief was unreliable, did poor quality work, and had to come back multiple times. The management then left a rude voicemail. I'm a college painter who had one job left when I had to go back to school. The paint was already bought, and the house was more than half done. I contracted with certapro who were great at getting it started soon. Joe is who I spoke to on the phone. He was very professional and got back to me in a timely fashion. Unfortunately, the crew chief (Chris) was miserable. He was unreliable. He was never on time. In fact, I had already tried to work with him through craigslist. He just didn't show up. To My surprise, he is the guy who CertaPro assigned to complete the house for $900. I thought it was fair because I know management has to take their cut. it took him 3 weeks longer than it should have (should have been a two day job). He left multiple times saying it was done (4 times) and had to come back to get areas he missed. He missed window sills and left tape over lights. I found out from the home owner that Chris made him go buy a bunch of plastic to cover the roof. The homeowner was responsible for the paint, NOT THE MATERIALS. I had let him use my equipment, like my drop sheets and shields, but he found them inadequate to his techniques. They sprayed a huge streak of paint on the roof. The homeowner was not happy. That was one of the things he had to come back for. I even found a window that was entirely un-prepped. The homeowner said "I don't like those guys." and I don't blame him. Chris was horrible. You could not count on him to do what he was going to say when he said was going to do it. CertaPro called me for a survey and I gave them an honest 2 out of five. I was really grateful that they were able to help me in a tight spot so quickly. but as a paying customer I expected better quality. The Branch manager, Dan, left me a voicemail about how livid he was for giving him that honest review because he helped me out and I'm just a student. They called me, and I gave them an honest answer. They should know when their crew chief's are inadequate. The fact is, I could have had another professional company help me out 2 days after he started. Certa Pro could start the soonest, but the crew chief was miserable and made for a dismal experience. I called him back and he hung up on me. If I was the homeowner, I would not have payed the full amount. As a paying customer, I deserve to be treated with respect. read more
