Don was great. Communication was quick and efficient and set up an appointment of the next day. Showed up right on time. Came to unclog our main pipe on a Sunday and didn't charger extra. Got to have respect for that work ethic, especially when people can be hard to contact on the weekend. Found this company on Yelp when a leaky toilet needed to be fixed right away for our tenant. This emergency happened on Friday night. Don came to rescue on Sunday afternoon. When he told us the toilet has a crack and needs to be replaced I was horrified as it was already 4 pm on Sunday. I thought Don will have to come back on Monday. No! Don went to Home Depot (30 min drive each way), bought a new toilet, and installed it right away. Who else in Hilo will do this on Sunday night? I bet only Don does. We learned about Don through Yelp. He had 41 reviews and all of them were five star so we decided to give him a call. Our bathroom basin was slow draining and I knew that the galvanized pipes were corroded and clogged. I had a sneaky suspicion that snaking alone wasn't gonna make the difference - that what we needed to do was replace the old galvanized piping with PVC. Don came by assessed the situation and recommended switching to PVC - it was the right move. He gave us an estimate on the spot. That was more than fair. He came out to my place, even after giving me tips on the phone, realizes I needed a new water heater after the one I had in my house was about 20 yrs old and wasn't working anymore, he was able to get the new one and installed it the very next day !(mind you, on a Sunday !) No lie to his 24/7 statement. I called about 1100 at night for hole in my pipes and he came. Few info over the phone and Don knew what he needed. Don--owner of Drain Man--was awesome. My catchment system pump was acting very strangely--like completely losing pressure--and I was having trouble getting someone, anyone to return my calls. I called plumbers who were recommended by others and had to leave a message. I'm still waiting for them to call back. But with Don, he answered the phone, we set a time for him to come by, he called me about an hour later and told me he had a cancellation and he could come by earlier. He came by, walked me through all the necessary knowledge about the catchment system, including the pump (which was actually fine, just needed a slight adjustment which he showed me how to do), showed me how to empty the lines that feed my water tank, taught me about the UV light disinfectant system, and changed my filters, all within an hour.
