What should have been a straightforward thermostat reinstallation and programming job turned into a nearly week-long ordeal defined by poor communication, lack of preparation, and zero follow-through. When I called to schedule the appointment, I was thorough. I mentioned the building is two storeys and that the technician would likely need a long ladder to access the rooftop compressors. I also specifically requested to be contacted directly if anything changed or if unexpected costs came up. Simple enough, right? The day of the appointment, the technician was scheduled to arrive between 10 and 12 PM. By noon, no one had shown up and no one had called. I reached out myself, only to be told he was running late on another job and wouldn't arrive until 2 PM at the earliest. A courtesy call would have gone a long way. Instead, I sat waiting with no update whatsoever. When he finally arrived, there was no direct communication from him either. I had to ask my tenant to pass along a message to have him call me. He confirmed the issue was exactly what I had described when booking: a thermostat that needed to be reprogrammed and rewired. Progress, finally. Or so I thought. A short while later, my tenant informed me the technician had left without completing the job. The reason? He hadn't brought a long enough ladder to access the roof, the very thing I had flagged when I made the appointment. The next day came and went. No technician, no call, no update. I later learned he was unwilling to go onto the roof without a second technician for safety reasons, a policy I can respect, but one that should have been communicated to me immediately and not left to surface on its own. By Friday, I called customer service to get answers. I was told they'd call me back once they heard from the technician. Three hours passed and nothing. I called again. Same answer. Hours later, I called a third time. Still the same response. I eventually gave up, called another company, and they resolved the issue the very next day. As of writing this review, I still haven't received a single callback. Not an apology, not an explanation, not even an acknowledgment that any of this happened. The technician they sent didn't even know how to put the system into a service mode to check Stage 2 as we have a variable speed, communicating system. Unfortunately we signed up for their "1 year VIP membership" which included a PM for winter and a water heater flush. Later, they came out to flush our water heater which was approximately 4 years old. They tried to schedule a follow up appointment with us to upsell us on a water purifier, etc. However, they wouldn't even speak to my husband about their proposal unless I was home as well but gave him brochures. They also had concerns about our plumbing, but again, would not discuss unless both of us were home. This is one of many red flags to me. If there was an urgent matter that needed to be addressed then it should have been addressed at that moment. Both of us do not need to be there. But there was nothing urgent and they were just trying to upsell something we don't need. Recently my HVAC system gave me a service reminder last week. Frustrating since it was just serviced 3 months ago. Again, It was obvious the technician had no idea what he was doing when he was here and in the end all he did was clean the compressor. I do not recommend this company as I feel they do not have experienced technicians. They just send people to try and upsell you on services that they do a poor job of providing. Maybe before sending technicians they should ask customers what kind of system they have so they can send someone with experience on that specific system? Just a recommendation.
